I recently returned from Afghanistan where i lost 13 of my friends and fellow soldiers. It has been a hard few months trying to figure out how to deal with it, and everything I have tried isnt working. Where are you God?

How trying this must be. I have 2 friends enlisted,one a female..I am so sorry you feel lost but God is right with you and He took them home. I am praying you come back to this forum. Hugs I worry about my buddies and I pray knowing that any moment could be their last but this is what they chose to do.

Father God, according to your Word, I ask that You heal lostsoldier's broken heart and bind up the wounds in his soul. As your Word says, 'Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; Let all your waves and breakers sweep over him in your love'. Be lostsoldier's Stronghold and Strong Tower. Let your light and your faithful care lead him in this time of loss and overwhelming grief. Help lostsoldier to find the strength to trust in your faithfulness. Help him to wait on you and not despair. Let him know that you have not abandoned him. Please show your son compassion, Lord. Help him through the pain so that he will hope in you again.

Father, give lostsoldier the oil of joy for mourning and trade him beauty for these ashes. Strengthen and encourage him to be of the same mind with all the Saints who have come to know such loss. I ask that You fill him with peace and that he may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name. Amen.

God is there, with your friends.. commending them on their service. Just know God is with you, during your pain and your struggle. God loves you and decided he didn't need you yet.
