oh dear i love Russia and i want to learn Russian language because i'll love to become a missionary serving God and people in a former Soviet Union country. i met a guy from Russia last week in my school and i just blocked his way when he was walking to somewhere and BEGGED him to teach me Russian... but he seemed so *P.u.Z.Z.L.e.D* that he never talked to me after that. sob sob... ...

i guess you will have to learn on your own. us russians dont really want anyone to know our language.

May God give you the desire of your heart. It's a beautiful language of Pushkin and Tolstoy. If one is in command of different languages, each aspect of our life or relationships have a language that fits the best. When they say that French is the language of love, I add that Russian is the language of friends. I find it comfortable speaking Armenian in the kitchen, English - at the Bible studies, Turkish (almost forgotten) when speaking to my Mother-in-law. But Russian is reserved for friends.
May God use you mightily in Russia!

Avtoritet. People learn only the bad words because they lack lexicon. They want to express their happiness, sadness, doubts with very few words that they pick up from dubious linguistic sources. Avtoritet, you know Russian. Share your beautiful language with those around you who are interested. If you are excited about the beauty of your native tongue, people would want to know more about it. It's the same and even more about the salvation. If we know the Lord, we want to share that knowledge with those around us.

Thank you sooooo much! that's so kind of you. yeah i feel much better after reading your words. some people think that it's not PATRIOTIC to learn languages other than the official language of your own country as well as a shame to learn languages besides your mother tounge. for me, these never made sense.
learning language is something more than just studying grammer and new vocabulary, it is all about knowing and accepting the culture and story behind the people or nations.
as God has put the Russian people inside my heart and my thought, I will always take every chance to know and learn more about them.

well, im not from russia officially.

let's see....
no i live in US but originally i came from UA lived close to bryanskaya oblast of russia. place were i used to live is the Sumy oblast in north of ukraine kinda close to the border. my dad is UA my mom is RUSS.

the other side is that people use the language against you and your fellow countrymen.

Privet everyone, I'm currently learning the Russian language, and I must say, it is a beautiful language. Wish I was more immersed because it would be faster to learn. Any Russians my age around Nashville,TN? Would love to meet some real Russian Christians. Paka ya'll.
