Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn has plead guilty to lying to the FBI about contacts with the Russians. Trump campaign aide Papadopoulos has plead guilty to lying to the FBI.

There was a Trump Tower meeting in June of 2016 between Paul Manafort, Don Trump Jr, and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner met with two Russian born agents with links to the Kremlin and Russian intelligence. It has been alleged that this meeting was about the possibility of Russian intelligence helping Trump win a difficult election. An election where Hillary got more votes than Trump, but lost the election anyway.
