Here are some interesting facts for those who may be interested...

100 FACTS ABOUT THE SABBATH AND SUNDAY YOU MAY NOT KNOW.
  1. After working the first six days of the week in creating this earth, the great God rested on the seventh day. (Genesis 2:1.3.)
  2. This stamped that day as God's rest day, or Sabbath day, as Sabbath day means rest day. To illustrate: When a person is born on a certain day, that day thus becomes his birthday. So when God rested upon the seventh day, that day became His rest, or Sabbath, day.
  3. Therefore the seventh day must always be God's Sabbath day. Can you change your birthday from the day on which you were born to one on which you were not born? No. Neither can you change God's rest day to a day on which He did not rest. Hence the seventh day is still God's Sabbath day.
  4. The Creator blessed the seventh day. (Genesis 2:3.)
  5. He sanctified the seventh day. (Exodus 20:11.)
  6. He made it the Sabbath day in the Garden of Eden. (Genesis 2:1-3.)
  7. It was made before the fall; hence it is not a type; for types were not introduced till after the fall.
  8. Jesus says it was made for man (Mark 2:27), that is, for the race, as the word man is here unlimited; hence, for the Gentile as well as for the Jew.
  9. It is a memorial of creation. (Exodus 20:11; 31:17.) Every time we rest upon the seventh day, as God did at creation, we commemorate that grand event.
  10. It was given to Adam, the head of the human race. (Mark 2:27; Genesis 2:1-3.)
  11. Hence through him, as our representative, to all nations. (Acts 17:26.)
  12. It is' not a Jewish institution, for it was made 2,300 years before ever there was a Jew.
  13. The Bible never calls it the Jewish Sabbath, but always "the Sabbath of the Lord thy God." Men should be cautious how they stigmatize God's holy rest day.
  14. Evident reference is made to the Sabbath and the seven-day week all, through the patriarchal age. (Genesis 2:l-3; 8:10,12; 29:27,28.etc.)
  15. It was a part of God's law before Sinai. (Exodus 16:4, 27-29.)
  16. Then God placed it in the heart of His moral law. (Exodus 20:1-17.) Why did He place it there if it was not like the other nine precepts, which all admit to be immutable?
  17. The seventh-day Sabbath was commanded by the voice of the living God. (Deuteronomy 4:12,13.)
  18. Then He wrote the commandment with His own finger. (Exodus 31:18.)
  19. He engraved it in the enduring stone, indicating its imperishable nature. (Deuteronomy 5:22.)
  20. It was sacredly preserved in the ark in the holy of holies. (Deuteronomy 10:1-5.)
  21. God forbade work upon the Sabbath, even in the most hurrying times. (Exodus 34:21.)
  22. God destroyed the Israelites in the wilderness because they profaned the Sabbath. (Ezekiel 20:12, 13.)
  23. It is the sign of the true God, by which we are to know Him from false gods. (Ezekiel 20:20.)
  24. God promised that Jerusalem should stand forever if the Jews would keep the Sabbath (Jeremiah 17:24, 25.)
  25. He sent them into the Babylonish captivity for breaking it. (Nehemiah 13:18.)
  26. He destroyed Jerusalem for its violation. (Jeremiah 17:27.)
  27. God has pronounced a special blessing on all the Gentiles who will keep it. (Isaiah 56:6, 7.)
  28. This is in the prophecy, which refers wholly to the Christian dispensation. (See Isaiah 56.)
  29. God has promised to bless all who keep the Sabbath. (Isaiah 56:2.)
  30. The Lord requires us to call it "honourable". (Isaiah 58:13.) Beware, ye who take delight in calling it the. “old Jewish Sabbath,” “a yoke of bondage,” etc.
  31. After the holy Sabbath has been trodden down "many generations,” it is to be restored in the last days. (Isaiah 58:12,13.)
  32. All the holy prophets kept the seventh day.
  33. When the Son of God came, He kept the seventh day all His life. (Luke 4:16; John 15:10.) Thus He followed His Father's example at creation. Shall we not be safe in following the example of both the Father and the Son?
  34. The seventh day is the Lord's Day. (See Revelation 1:10; Mark 2:28; Isaiah 58:13; Exodus 20:10.)
  35. Jesus was Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28), that is, to love and protect it, as the husband is the lord of the wife, to love and cherish her (1 Peter 3:6.)
  36. He vindicated the Sabbath as a merciful institution designed for man's good. (Mark 2:23-28.)
  37. Instead of abolishing the Sabbath, He carefully taught how it should be observed. (Matthew 12:1-13.)
  38. He taught His disciples that they should do nothing upon the Sabbath day but what was “lawful” (Matthew 12:12.)
  39. He instructed His apostles that the Sabbath should be prayerfully regarded forty years after His resurrection. (Matthew 24:20.)
  40. The pious women who had been with Jesus carefully kept the seventh day after His death. (Luke 23:56.)
  41. Thirty years after Christ's resurrection, the Holy Spirit' expressly calls it "the Sabbath day,"(Acts 13:14.)
  42. Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, called it the "Sabbath day" in A.D. 45. (Acts 13:27.) Did not Paul know? Or shall we believe modern teachers, who affirm that it ceased to be the Sabbath at the resurrection of Christ?
  43. Luke, the inspired Christian historian, writing as late as A.D. 62, calls it the "Sabbath day." (Acts 13:44.)
  44. The Gentile converts called it the Sabbath. (Acts 13:42.)
  45. In the great Christian council, A.D. 49, in the presence of the apostles and thousands of disciples, James calls it the "sabbath day." (Acts 15:21)
  46. It was customary to hold prayer meetings upon that day. (Acts 16:13.)
  47. Paul read the Scriptures in public meetings on that day. (Acts 17:2, 3.)
  48. It was his custom to preach upon that day. (Acts 17:2,3.)
  49. The Book of Acts alone gives a record of his holding eighty-four meetings upon that day. (See Acts 13:14, 44; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4. 11.)
  50. There was never any dispute between the Christians and the Jews about the Sabbath day. This is proof that the Christians still observed the same day that the Jews did.
  51. In all their accusations against Paul, they never charged him with disregarding the Sabbath day. Why did they not, if he did not keep it?
  52. But Paul himself expressly declared that he had kept the law. “Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended any thing at all." Acts 25:8. How could this be true if he had not kept the Sabbath?
  53. The Sabbath is mentioned in the New Testament fifty-nine times, and always with respect, bearing the same title it had in the Old Testament, “the Sabbath day.”
  54. Not a word is said anywhere in the New Testament about the Sabbath's being abolished, done away, changed, or anything of the kind.
  55. God has never given permission to any man to work upon it. Reader, by what authority do you use - the seventh day for common labor?
  56. No Christian of the New Testament, either before or after the resurrection, ever did ordinary work upon the seventh day. Find one case of that kind, and we will yield the question. Why should modem Christians do differently from Bible Christians?
  57. There is no record that God has ever removed His blessing or sanctification from the seventh day.
  58. As the Sabbath was kept in Eden before the fall, so it will be observed eternally in the new earth after the restitution. (Isaiah 66:22, 23.)
  59. The seventh-day Sabbath was an important part of the law of God, as it came from His own mouth, and was written by His own finger upon stone at Sinai. (See Exodus 20.) When Jesus began His work, He expressly declared that He had not come to destroy the law. “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets.” Matthew 5:17
  60. Jesus severely condemned the Pharisees as hypocrites for pretending to love God, while at the same tune they made void one of the Ten Commandments by their tradition. The keeping of Sunday is only a tradition of men.
40 Bible Facts Concerning the First Day of the Week
  1. The very first thing recorded In the Bible is work done on Sunday, the first day of the week. (Genesis l: l-5.) The Creator Himself did this. If God made the earth on Sunday, can it be wicked for us to work on Sunday?
  2. God commands men to work upon the first day of the week. (Exodus 20.8-11.) Is it wrong to obey God?
  3. None of the patriarchs ever kept it.
  4. None of the holy prophets ever kept it.
  5. By the express command of-God, His holy people used the first day of the week as a common working day for 4,000 years, at least.
  6. God Himself calls it a "working" day. (Ezekiel 46:1.)
  7. God did not rest upon it.
  8. He never blessed it.
  9. Christ did not rest upon it.
  10. Jesus was a carpenter (Mark 6:3), and worked at His trade until He was thirty years old. He kept the Sabbath and worked six days in the week, as all admit. Hence He did many a hard day’s work on Sunday.
  11. The apostles worked upon it during the same time.
  12. The apostles never rested upon it.
  13. Christ never blessed it.
  14. It has never been blessed by any divine authority.
  15. It has never been sanctified.
  16. No law was ever given to enforce the keeping of it, hence it is no transgression to work upon it. “Where no law is, there is no transgression.” Romans 4:15 (See also 1 John 3:4.)
  17. The New Testament nowhere forbids work to be done on it.
  18. No penalty is provided for its violation.
  19. No blessing is promised for its observance.
  20. No regulation is given as to how it ought to be observed. Would this be so if the Lord wished us to keep it?
  21. It is never called the Christian Sabbath.
  22. It is never called the Sabbath day at all.
  23. It is never called the Lord’s day.
  24. It is never called even a rest day.
  25. No sacred title whatever is applied to it. Then why should we call it holy?
  26. It is simply called “first day of the week.”
  27. Jesus never-mentioned it in any way, never took its name upon His lips, so far as the record shows.
  28. The word Sunday never occurs in the Bible at all.
  29. Neither God, Christ, nor inspired men ever said one word in favor of Sunday as a holy day.
  30. The first day of the week is mentioned only eight times in all the New Testament. (Matthew 28:1; Mark 16:2,9; Luke 24:1; John 20:1, 19; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:2.)
  31. Six of these texts refer to the same first day of the week.
  32. Paul directed the saints to look over their secular affairs on that day. (1Corinthians 16:2.)
  33. In all the New Testament we have a record of only one religious meeting held upon that day, and even this was a night meeting. (Acts 20:5-12.)
  34. There is not intimation that they ever held a meeting upon it before or after that.
  35. It was not their custom to meet on that day.
  36. There was no requirement to break bread on that day.
  37. We have an account of only one instance in which it was done. (Acts 20:7.)
  38. That was done in the night-after midnight. (Verses 7-11.) Jesus celebrated it on Thursday evening (Luke 22), and the disciples sometimes did it every day (Acts 2:42-46.)
  39. The Bible nowhere says that the first day of the week commemorates the resurrection of Christ. This is a tradition of men, which contradicts the law of God. (Matthew 15:1-9.) Baptism commemorates the burial and resurrection of Jesus. (Romans 6:3-5.)
  40. Finally, the New Testament is totally silent with regard to any change of the Sabbath day or any sacredness for the first day.

Here are one hundred plain Bible facts upon this question, showing conclusively that the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord in both the Old and New Testament.*

THERE IS NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN - GOD'S WORD vs TRADITIONS OF MEN

The very same topics that we discuss here was also discussed in the day of Jesus. The mainstream preachers of Christ's time all claimed to be Children of God because their claim was that they were the Children of Abraham right? This was their claim to being God's people.

JOHN 8:33-45

33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how say thou, Ye shall be made free?

They claimed belief on the God of Abraham, they claimed to be in bondage to no man. But what did Jesus tell them...............?

34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin.

39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

There is more on this engagement between Jesus and the Mainstream God of Abraham preachers of His time in John 8.

Certainly the Pharisees studied the bible as it existed then. AS did Jesus.

Luke 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Yet these two factions, Jesus and the Mainstream preachers of His time had almost opposite understandings of the Bible.

It is fair to say not all Jews of that time had the same understanding as the Mainstream Preachers.

Luke 1:5-6 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

So there seems to be a trend here.

The Mainstream Preachers claimed to be God's people, they read God's Words, yet they "Transgressed the Commandments of God by their own doctrines and traditions." (Matthew 15:3-9)

Yet there is no indication that Zacharias or Jesus did this and followed them.

So we have one example of understanding that was gained by study in obedience to the instructions in God's Word, ( Zacharias and Jesus)

And another example of study in disobedience to the instructions of God's Word. (Mainstream preachers of that time)

There were more than just Zacharias.

Matthew 2:1-2 1, Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

Here is another example of people who had a completely different understanding than the Mainstream preachers of that time. Is it wrong to assume that they, like Zacharias, also studied in obedience to the instruction?

And Peter, which side of this topic did he fall on?

Acts 5:32-33 33, And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

33 When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.

Now why was it that the Jews sought to persecute Jesus and the prophets? It was because they refused to obey the instruction of God, and created their own instructions, and the other example did not.

So fast forward to today. We have a Mainstream Christian teaching that "Transgresses the Commandments of God by their own traditions and doctrines."

This is not a judgment, rather, a simple fact.

It is Mainstream Christian Tradition to transgress God's Sabbath Commandment and replace it with the Catholic Sabbath (Sunday worship). It is Mainstream Christian Tradition to create images of God in the likeness of some long haired men's shampoo model, transgressing the first and greatest commandment.
It is Mainstream Christian Tradition to transgress God's Food Laws, and create their own definition of clean and unclean.

So it seems that even today, if a person studies in obedience to God's simple instructions he see's the scripture one way.

If a person studies scripture in disobedience following the traditions and teachings of man in place of God's Word and to God's simple instructions, he sees the scripture in another way.

I believe what Peter taught, that the Holy Spirit (Spirit of Truth) is given to those who do not "Transgress the Commandments of God by their own religious doctrines and traditions.

But I also know from Peter and Jesus that this belief will infuriate "many" who come in Christ's/God's name.

23 "When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them."

Matthew 10:22
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endures to the end shall be saved."

My hope is that you might consider these words and understand.

John 3:19
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (Is it evil or righteous to transgress the commandments of God by doctrines and traditions of men?)

20 For every one that doeth evil (Transgress God's Commandments by their own Traditions) hates the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Is this why the Mainstream preachers of Peters time set about to kill or silence Peter, so he wouldn't expose their transgression of God's Commandments?

21 But he that does truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest,.(let your light shine) that they are wrought in God.

So a circle complete once again. Those who live a doctrine created (wrought) by God have a different understanding than those who live a doctrine created by man who follow the traditions of man. The above was shared with me recently by a friend. I hope it was a blessing to you as it was for me.

Now the important question is who should we obey God or man...............?

The Jews (Pharisees/Lawyers) had placed so many restrictions on the Sabbath commandment through there man made traditions that it had become a burden to the people and was nearly impossible to keep (Luke 13:14; John 5:10-18; 9:16; etc.).

This was never how the Sabbath was to be kept. What did Jesus teach us about the Sabbath? Let's look to the Word of God.....

1. It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56)
2. Jesus made the Sabbath for all mankind (Mark 2:27)
3. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28)
4. If you do not believe and follow God you cannot enter His Sabbath rest (Hebrews 4)
5. It is one of God’s 10 commandments we break it we are guilty or breaking all (James 2:8-12)
6. Breaking it is sin (1 John 3:4)
7. God’s true followers keep it Holy as God commanded (Rev 14:12; Rev 22:14; Eze 20:20)
8. Jesus is our example and he kept the Sabbath (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56; John 2:6; Matt 16:24; 1 Cor 11:1; Eph 5:1-21; Pet 2:20-22)
9. The Apostle kept the Sabbath (Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; Rev 1:10)

God’s Law in the NC is written on our hearts it is through love and it is love that fulfills God’s Law in us as we walk not after the flesh but after the spirit and is why Jesus says f you love me keep my commandments. (John 14:15; John 15:10). If we knowingly and willfully break one of God’s commandments we commit sin (1 John 3:4). This includes the 7th Day Sabbath which Jesus made for us and commands us to keep as a holy day.

God gives us the other six days to labor and work and do whatever we like. We worship God everyday but the 7th Day God says is a Holy day that God has made for His people. Jesus is the maker of this day. It is the "Lords Day" and God has commanded us to keep it Holy (Mark 2:27-28; Exodus 20:8-11). The Sabbath is a sign that we worship the only true God of creation (Ezekiel 20:12). We follow Jesus because we love him (John 14:15;15:10). Love is the fulfilling of God's Law in us as we walk by faith in His Spirit.

God bless

GOD'S WORD vs TRADITIONS OF MEN; A CALL TO RETURN TO GOD'S WORD.

It is amazing how those that do not have God's WORD to supoport their traditions that break the commandments of God accuse those who have God's WORD of things that are not true.

The religious teachers in the days of Jesus said that he had a devil and his followers were a cult this was also independently verifiable in the days of Jesus and the Apostles. Just ask the Jews who hung Jesus on the cross (John 7:20; John 8:48; 52; Matt 10:25 12:24; Acts 28:22).

This could be said of all those who followed Jesus throughout time even before Jesus the religious teachers of the day killed the prophets sent to them by God to share God's WORD (Luke 11:47; Matt 23:31)

Stephen was stoned to death it was independently verified that he was blaspheming because no one could argue with the scriptures that he was presenting (Acts 6:8-15).

Paul, Peter and most of the Apostles were also executed because it was independently verified by the religious teachers of the day that they could not respond to God's WORD they were sharing with them.

Not to mention all those of the reformation and the birth of Protestantism and the inquisition of the Roman Catholic Church which executed millions of God's people because it was independently verified by the Roman Catholic Church that they were all heretics and should be burned at the stake.

Now today you call heretic or cult because it is independently verified because you cannot respond to the scriptures that disagree with your Catholic traditions which has led many to break God's Commandments?

ONLY God's WORD is true and you do not have it to support your tradition that breaks the commandments of God. The WORD of God is sent to help you have a closer walk with God but you reject God's WORD in order to follow the traditions of the fathers.

Jesus and Paul spoke correctly quoting Isaiah;

Well spoke the Holy Spirit by Isaiah the prophet unto our fathers, Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and not perceive: For the heart of this people is stubborn, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Something to think about who do we BELIEVE and FOLLOW? The teachings and traditions of men that break the Commandments of God or the WORD of GOD. Jesus says those who follow man made traditions that break God's Commandments are not following him...

MATTHEW 15:2-9 [2], Why do your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. [3], But he answered and said to them, Why do you also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? [4], For God commanded, saying, Honor your father and mother: and, He that curses father or mother, let him die the death. [5], But you say, Whoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatever you might be profited by me; [6], And honor not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have you made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. [7], You hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, [8], This people draws near to me with their mouth, and honors me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. [9], But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

It is very clear according to Jesus if we follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the Commandments of GOD we are not following God.

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

.......................

SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)
Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

God bless

CONFESSIONS OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH

Where is the scripture that says God's 4th commandment is Abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day?

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God or the Word of God? JESUS says that those who follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God are not following God *MATTHEW 15:3-9.

God has his people in every Church *JOHN 10:16. Many of his people follow the teachings of men in place of God's WORD out of ignorance to the Word of God. JESUS knows this and is calliong his people where ever they may be to come back to his WORD.

God is a Spirit and those who worship him must worship him in Spirit and in truth according to his Word *JOHN 4:24; JOHN 17:17.

In times of ignorance God winks at but now commands all men every where to repent *ACTS 17:30. Who will you choose to BELIEVE and FOLLOW?

God's Sheep here his Voice.

God bless

The Ten Commandments were the Old Covenant, replaced by the New which has no Sabbath requirements.

Hi David, not really. God's LAW (10 commandments) were a part of the OLD COVENANT as was the MOSAIC BOOK of the OLD COVENANT *EXODUS 24:7. Together God's LAW (10 commandments) and the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT *EXODUS 24:7 made up the OLD COVENANT.

We are in the NEW COVENANT now not the OLD COVENANT which means no more SHADOW LAWS from the MOSAIC BOOK of the LAW *EXODUS 24:7; DEUTERONOMY 31:24-26. The NEW COVENANT brings an end to all the SHADOW laws for SIN offerings and burnt offerings that pointed to JESUS as well as the ceremonial Sanctuary laws from the levitical Priesthood that all point to JESUS and God's plan of salvation under the NEW COVENANT.

God's ETERNAL LAW (10 commandments) however have the same role in the NEW COVENANT that they always had and that is to give us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL; SIN and RIGHTOUESNESS *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4; PSALMS 119:172.

OBEDIENCE to God's LAW is not how we are saved it is the FRUIT of God's work in us as we BELIEVE and FOLLOW his WORD. If our faith has no fruit it is dead *JAMES 2:18-20; 26 and our tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire *MATTHEW 3:10; 7:19-20; 13:49-50. We are saved by GRACE through faith and not of ourselves it is a gift of God *EPHESIANS 2:8. We are all sick with sin and need a Physician *MATTHEW 9:12-13. JESUS says arise take up your bed and walk. I believe him. How about you?

God bless.

The Ten Commandments were the Old Covenant, replaced by the New which has no Sabbath requirements.
Amen! Someone who spends that much time and energy promoting the 10 Commandments/law keeping/Sabbath keeping etc.. obviously demonstrates what they are trusting in for salvation and it's not CHRIST ALONE. ;)

Hi David, not really. They were a part of the OLD COVENANT. As was the MOSAIC BOOK of the OLD COVENANT *EXODUS 24:7. Together these made up the OLD COVENANT. We are in the NEW COVENANT now not the OLD COVENANT which means no more SHADOW LAWS from the MOSAIC BOOK of the LAW *EXODUS 24:7; DEUTERONOMY 31:24-26. The NEW COVENANT brings an and to all the SHADOW laws for SIN offerings and burnt offerings that pointed to JESUS as well as the ceremonial Sanctuary laws from the levitical Priesthood that all point to JESUS and God's plan of salvation under the NEW COVENANT.

God's ETERNAL LAW (10 commandments) however have the same role in the NEW COVENANT that they always have and that is to give us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL; SIN and RIGHTOUESNESS *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4; PSALMS 119:172.

Jeremiah says the New Covenant replaced the Ten Commandments (Old Covenant).

““Look, the days are coming”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. This one will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt—a covenant they broke even though I had married them” —the Lord’s declaration. “Instead, this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days”—the Lord’s declaration. “I will put My teaching within them and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be My people.” (Jeremiah 31:31–33) (HCSB)

Indeed the NEW COVENANT is not like the OLD COVENANT. We no longer follow the SHADOW LAWS from the MOSAIC BOOK of the LAW *EXODUS 24:7; DEUTERONOMY 31:24-26. They are the mirror that show us who we are to lead us to the cross of Christ that we might be FORGIVEN by Faith *GALATIANS 3:22-25.

Only the Two Great Commandments, from which hung the Ten, are forever. The Ten did not exist before Sinai.

““The LORD our God made a covenant with us at Mount Sinai. The LORD did not make this covenant with our ancestors, but with all of us who are alive today.” (Deuteronomy 5:2–3)

Not really brother. MATTHEW 22:36-40 says on these two Commandments of LOVE to GOD and LOVE to man HANG all the LAW and the prophets. OBEDIENCE to God's LAW which is the fruit of FAITH that works by LOVE is how LOVE is expressed to GOD and our fellow man and is the NEW COVENANT promise to those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD.

MATTHEW 22:36-40
[36] Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
[37], Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
[38], This is the first and great commandment.
[39], And the second is like to it, You shall love your neighbour as yourself.
[40], ON THESE TWO COMMANDMENTS HANG ALL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS.

ROMANS 13:8-10
[8], Owe no man anything, but to LOVE ONE ANOTHER: for HE THAT LOVES ANOTHER HAS FULFILLED THE LAW. [9], For this, THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, THOU SHALT NOT KILL, THOU SHALT NOT STEAL, THOU SHALT NOT LIE, THOU SHALT NOT COVET; and IF THERE SHALL BE ANY OTHER COMMANDMENT, it is briefly summed up in this saying, namely, THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF. [10], Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore LOVE IS THE FULFILLING OF THE LAW.

ROMANS 3:31, Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yes, WE ESTABLISH THE LAW.

This is the experience of those who are BORN AGAIN into the NEW COVENANT through FAITH by the operation of GOD of a NEW HEART to LOVE.

HEBREWS 8:10-12 (JEREMIAH 31:31-34)
[10], For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, said the Lord; I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MINDS AND WRITE THEM IN THEIR HEARTS; and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: [11], And they shall not teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. [12], For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Unless we are BORN AGAIN to LOVE then we have no part in the NEW COVENANT and will not see the KINGDOM of HEAVEN *JOHN 3:3-7; 1 JOHN 3:6-9.

God is the God of the living not the dead *MATTHEW 22:32. This is why JESUS says if you LOVE me keep my commandments *JOHN 14:15

God bless

The very first thing recorded In the Bible is work done on Sunday, the first day of the week. (Genesis l: l-5.) The Creator Himself did this. If God made the earth on Sunday, can it be wicked for us to work on Sunday?
I'm just going to ignore the assumption that it was Sunday when God made the earth, and point out that the naming and selection of the first day of the week are cultural constructs. Look here, for example:
Monday Is the Moon’s Day

You need to realize the Ten Commandments were the Old Covenant. That's why they called the box they kept them in "the ark of the covenant". The New Covenant replaced them entirely with the Two Great Commandments, which were always written on the believer's heart from Abel and Job onward.

To the OP: 2 points you left off of your first post on the Saturday sabbath:

1 - there is to be a holy convocation, a meeting of God’s people. Leviticus 23:3

2 - It is a Covenantal sign between God and the Jewish people. Exodus 31:17

Exodus 31:17
It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased from labor, and was refreshed.
DaveL, either God meant “forever” which means it is still in effect today; or He lied.

But it was the sign of the now abolished Old Covenant (Ten Commandments). And the New Covenant does not require Sabbath keeping. In fact it warns against it.

OK so you are saying God lied.

Written by people trying to support your unsupportable position. Ask any Jewish theologian (messianic or traditional) and they will explain it simply: forever means forever, without end.

And why should you trust a Jewish source?

Romans 3:1
Then what advantage has the Jew? Or what is the benefit of circumcision? 2 Great in every respect. First of all, that they were entrusted with the oracles of God.
