  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ok, let's get back to them Tribes.

The Jews are also not obsessed with Bible endtimes, as they are still waiting on their own Messiah/Savior, not ours, Jesus .

By the way, I once read somewhere that the 12 tribes mentioned in the Jewish/Hebrew book Revelation 7 formed a prayer, since the names usually symbolized something.....

Reve 7 1.
Y@huwdah = "I will praise Yah" 2. R@'uwben = "He looked on my humliation" 3. Gad = "In raid" 4. 'Asher = "Happy am I" 5. Naphtaliy = "My wrestling" 6. M@nashsheh = "Making me to forget" 7. Shim`own = "He hears me" 8. Leviy = "and obligated me" 9. Yissaskar = "Gave me hire" 10. Z@buwluwn = "a dowry" 11. Yowceph = " he took away my reproach" 12. Binyamiyn = "by Son of His right hand"

Genesis.....
1 R@'uwben = "He looked on me" 2 Shim`own = "Hears me" 3 Leviy = "obligated me" 4 Y@huwdah = "praise Yah" 5 Z@buwluwn = "a dowry" 6 Yissaskar = "gave me hire" 7 Dan = "shall judge" 8 Gad = "in raid" 9 'Asher = "happy am I" 10 Naphtaliy = "my wrestling" 11 Yowceph = "took away my reproach" 12 Binyamiyn = "by son of right hand"

Whatever you say ebed... I believe he did ..the old law is not abolished ...the law will judge those under the law
On the contrary:
Ephesians 2:13-16:
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
14 For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall,
15 by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace,
16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity.

Christ abolished the Law...it says it clearly.

Are you deliberately trying to insult me putting yourself on my ignore list ? Of course I think about what I am saying ....insult me one more time and I'm done with preterist ...
That's your choice dfw69, I asked a simple question, how you took words on a post is up to you. Nothing was intended to insult you...if I wanted to do that, I would have done so.

Well, they didn't heed the warnings in the 1st century and got spanked pretty hard in AD70, perhaps they will fare better during this 1000 yr period the Amills say we are in now.

The Destruction of Jerusalem - George Peter Holford, 1805AD

Luke 21:23 "Woe to the ones in belly having and the ones suckling in those the days!
For shall be distress great upon the Land and Wrath upon this people. [Daniel 12 and Revelation]
.........The day on which Titus encompassed Jerusalem, was the feast of the Passover...........

.........Meanwhile the horrors of famine grew still more melancholy and afflictive.
The Jews, for want of food were at length compelled to eat their belts, their sandals, the skins of their shields, dried grass, and even the ordure of oxen. In the depth or this horrible extremity, a Jewess of noble family urged by the intolerable cravings of hunger, slew her infant child, and prepared it for a meal ;.....................
Reve 18:8
by this, in one day shall be arriving the blows of Her, death and sorrow and famine;and in fire She shall be being burned,
that strong Lord, the God, the one judging Her.

This is probably getting off topic.

What warnings did the 1st century Jews fail to heed before the Romans surrounded Jerusalem? Are they still heeding them today?

The Destruction of Jerusalem - George Peter Holford, 1805AD

Of the Jews destroyed during the siege, Josephus reckons not less than ONE MILLION AND ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND,........
Of the captives the whole was about NINETY-SEVEN THOUSAND.

..the old law is not abolished ...the law will judge those under the law

I was under the impression that Jesus came to fulfill the law (Matt 5:17), and
that his grace was sufficient (2 Cor 12:9)? Paul said:

"Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses." -- Acts 13:38-39

"Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin." -- Rom 3:19-20

"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." -- Gal 2:16

When I plugged that into my decoder ring, it displayed, "Paul is saying, remaining under the law is unwise."

Yes Jesus full filled the law obtaining righteousness.. and gives his believers his righteousness

But the law is not obolished ...you reap what you sow ...if anyone condemns by the law the law will condemn them

Jesus said this is the law:

"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law... " -- Mt 7:12

Paul said likewise:

"Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law." -- Rom 13:10

"For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." -- Gal 5:14

That is the law Jeremiah and Paul were referring to in these prophecy/fulfillment statements:

"But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people." -- Jer 31:33

"This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more." -- Heb 10:16-17

Therefore, only one part of the law of Moses survived:

"...thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself ...." -- Lev 19:18

And Moses made no bones about who we should listen to:

"I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him." -- Deu 18:18-19

Peter said that prophet is Christ:

"For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people." -- Acts 3:22-23

Lost tribes were never all Jewish

Matthew 10:5"These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:"

God gave His disciples strict orders to stay clear, do not approach the Gentiles. This order was because it was not the time of the Gentiles yet. Jesus still had to pay the price on the cross, before the way would be open to all mankind.
When they went out, this was their first priority to give the gospel.

Matthew 10:6"But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

Now does this say "go to the Jews", or "Go to Judah"? No. It says "Go to the lost sheep of the House of Israel". The sons of Judah know where they are, and who they are; there is nothing lost about them. In fact, when these Jews came to Jesus in their self-righteous attitude, they came to trick Him up, because of this He would answer their questions in parables to keep the kingdom message a mystery from them. Jesus didn't even imply that the disciples should go to the House of Judah.
If you are lost, it means that that person doesn't know who they are. They are not in Jerusalem anymore, but gone to another area completely, and lost their identity to themselves.

As a Christian, it should be your priority to learn who these lost "House of Israel" are, or you will not be able to rightly divide the Word of truth. To understand the parables that Jesus Christ taught you need to understand the parable of the sower concerning the children of the good and the bad; which is the prime root to the "key of David". This topic we will discuss in detail in Matthew 13.

This is a very simple message, but it is a total mystery to much of the church world today, and they attach the Jews, good and bad, as the lost sheep of the House of Israel. God is the same yesterday, today and forever, and that message continues right to today. So how do you prepare yourself to go out and plant the seed of the word of God, when the simplest parts of God's mystery are over looked?

Jesus said this is the law:
Therefore, only one part of the law of Moses survived:

"...thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself ...." -- Lev 19:18
.

This is definitely not an eschatology topic. However no, not accurate at all. An is the exact thing so many sinners are using in attempt to justify their wickedness.

19:18-Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

Even in your "cited" scripture theirs 2 aspects not 1.

No avenging- indicating let God judge and repay, not man

Though more direct to the point-
Matthew 22:36-40
1599 Geneva Bible (GNV)
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the Law?
37 Jesus said to him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, with all thy [a]soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and the great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hangeth the whole Law and the Prophets.

It was a trick to get Jesus to go against or dismiss one of Gods Laws, Jesus summarized the entire law into 2 parts ( this is not counting atonement for sins or sacrifices since Jesus himself was their to fulfill that).

It was a summary, the law still applies. Just it's easier for a summary instead of don't steal, kill, fornicate, lust, commit adultery, disrespect your parents; elders, don't have sex with an animal, do not have sex with the same sex.

I'll even save you some time verse 37 that I cited, you can't love God with all your heart if your doing things he said is an abomination. You can not serve 2 masters (Matt 6:24). God can also not go against his word, he'd become fallible.

And let's use an apostle for more clarification of laws( and all go back to Moses Laws).
1timothy 1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

1:10-For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

Ephesians 5:5 ESV
For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

And theirs more but since it's really off topic I'll stop, point is their are "laws" that still apply in which constitute that if we break them we are sinning.

Lev 19:18 applied only to Israel ("thy people"). That is, it did not apply to the heathen. Jesus stripped away those parts, so that "love thy neighbor" would apply to everyone. His parable of the good Samaritan, whom the Jews despised, explained that point.

Jesus said those two commandments were like unto each other.

I don't know how all that got into a simple "love thy neighbour" discussion. Anyway, if you love your neighbour you will do nothing that might lead them astray.

"… charity shall cover the multitude of sins." -- 1 Peter 4:8

Now, back to the lost 10 lost tribes. I believe Jesus and the apostles found all of them (all that were Abraham's seed, and not Satan's), and they took part in the first resurrection.

Therefore, only one part of the law of Moses survived:

And your second comment
Anyway, if you love your neighbour you will do nothing that might lead them astray
again is not accurate without the law, but for now I'll let it go, no need to derail a topic.

It's important as Christians to keep the laws of Christ ,,, to judge not condemn not

the false messiah comes to destroy sinners who do not hold to the laws of Moses ...he is antichrist in that he teaches to judge and condemn rather than love

I believe that when Jesus says "lost sheep" it's referring to the people of Israel who do not have good shepherds ...without the good Shepard, they have lost their way to God

The house of isreal can refer to all twelve or 13 tribes all come from Jacob whom God change his name to Israel and Israel had all the tribes ...thus the tribes of Israel ...
