9k, 10k, 11k, 13k. That's not a slowing that's a speeding up. These are daily totals of new cases not cumulative totals. Each day the total count of new cases surpass the previous day. If it were slowing down you would see 9k, 8k, 7k, 6k etc... We want to see a lower number than yesterday not a higher number.
doubling every day would be an exponential increase and is going to have a point of not being able to keep up at that rate. What's happening now is it's maintaining the rate of increase and adding on to it. we still want to see that number go down and today the numbers are more positive... let's hope it doesn't hit 10,000 today.the rate of increase is slowing is what I meant. When USA first got the disease it was doubling every 2-3 days, the curve isn't stopping increases, it's slowing the rate of increases and hopefully reversing it.

Up to the minute:With 6000 new cases only today, the US has surpassed Italy, second only to China. We may see the US surpass China by the end of the day.

I was at the grocery store this morning and saw a store employee wearing a mask. I am seen people doing this on television but this is the first I have actually seen someone doing that. Fortunately I should be good for groceries for awhile.
There might be a 3-way tie by the morning, but the US has a faster rate of increase so it is inevitable they will have the highest number of cases reported.that one hasn't been updated in a while, world meter shows it surpasing, at the same time though no new data from italy.
Not that I think JHU has a monopoly on statistics, but I've literally been watching it change throughout the day. Different locations report with different frequencies.that one hasn't been updated in a while, world meter shows it surpasing, at the same time though no new data from italy.

According to the site worldometre.com; the USA is now in first place with the highest number of corona virus cases.Projections would indicate that by the end of the week US will lead the world in the total cases of those infected with the virus. There is no indication of it slowing.
What is the US doing so differently that it can't get a handle on this? Is it about top level problems of not doing enough or is it about bottom level problems where people are not listening and do their own thing?
The numbers in China is largely under report at least x 10 times more.Projections would indicate that by the end of the week US will lead the world in the total cases of those infected with the virus. There is no indication of it slowing.
