Hey there,
This thread is to discuss how we all glorify God in what we do for a living. Share how your career/occupation helps you to draw close to Him. Here we go praising Him through our talents and work. Do you see your work as an opportunity to serve God?
I'm a Clinical Researcher and Pharmacovigilance Scientist by profession. I have been learning and doing this for the past 12 years ever since I graduated at 20. As a kid, I was fascinated by life at its core- trees, animals, birds, humans, fishes..etc. I wondered how God designed life, what's inside a leaf, how do flowers turn into fruits..etc. So captivated by it all. Obviously, I always scored high in biology/life sciences.
God is life. I got to study and understand His image and will at the cellular level of every living organism. I see Him in the tiniest structures that are not visible to the naked eye. As His image-bearers, we are also trinity within ourselves. He is in the smallest details controlling all things. It's so mysterious and beautiful. There's a whole colorful universe within. It gives me a myriad of feelings in body and soul that I can never put into words. It's a dangerous thing to see Him up close in this way. It's a gift. It's not something a human can see unless they have His grace and come with a pure heart, mind, body, and soul that is acceptable in His sight. I read Him in everything that has life, in every chemical. It’s His own writing. It’s Him. I'm very grateful for the insight that I keep gaining from what He allows me to see of Him.
Among the mature, however, we speak a message of wisdom—but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we speak of the mysterious and hidden wisdom of God, which He destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it. For if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. Rather, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed it to us by the Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of man except his own spirit within him? So too, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. And this is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom, but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.
The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man judges all things, but he himself is not subject to anyone’s judgment. “For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2
