  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A disappointing Christological homily at Guildford Cathedral, and the importance of stressing the deity of Christ

I particularly like Guildford Cathedral for their music program, and was excited last week to hear a Christological sermon by the celebrant. However, on hearing it, I was disappointed, because rather than stressing the deity of Christ, she managed to inadvertently imply Arianism, through two...

    One God, Not Three Gods

Answering the often raised objection to Trinitarianism: God is one What (essence) and three Who's (subsistences, aka Persons). Essence and Person are not the same things. Essence refers to the being of God, while Person is used here as substance within being (subsisting as, subsistence). The...

LDS Wondering About the Godhead and the Trinity

Hi. I'm wondering about comparing the different concepts of what some call the Godhead. I'm not sure, but I believe many Latter Day Saints believe in a Triad. I know many Christians believe in a Trinity. I'm wondering what the logical or scriptural arguments are to support each, so that I might...

Is the Son of God eternal as Trinitarians claim or not eternal as Apostolics claim?

“1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: ….. 5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” (John 17:1 and 5...
