  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello I am Prince a Trinitarian and you may ask why cause conceptually Jesus and Holy Spirit arent regarded majestically equal to God thats false Revelation 21:4 and John 20:28 and Jude 1-8 and Hebrews 1:1-8, the Holy Spirit the Spirit who proceeded from the Father and Sent through the Son Psalm...

What can we learn when Nietzsche preaches Pilate ... ?

As a Christian who takes various educational cues from philosophers of all kinds in order to scour the landscape of human thought for God's Truth, a particular cue I've taken is from Christian philosopher, Merold Westphal, who is a favorite of mine. One of Westphal's books is titled, Suspicion...

You would be hard pressed to win a debate with a madman!

In the same way that our humanity and experiences color the way we think, our language does also. People think more differently from each other than most of us realize. Lately I've noticed that whole threads are full of people talking past each other because they simply don't think alike...

St. Augustine's Roadblocks in his Confessions

In his book, Confessions, St. Augustine makes some profound statements such as: Through the Spirit we see that whatsoever exists in any way is good… -Book 31, Ch 31 But then, he contests these thoughts with, such as when referring to the Manichaeans: They themselves are truly evil, when they...

A 97-Year-Old Philosopher Faces His Own Death

This is an 18 minute video; it is emotionally powerful and a beautiful insight into the thoughts of a man facing death. There is a deep and reflective Stoicism about his consideration of his life. See what you think.

Great Quotes About The Person Called "God"

I'll start, and I don't claim to have the best one. “... the divine knowing - what the Father knows, and what the Word says in response to that knowing, and what the Spirit broods upon under the speaking of the Word - all that eternal intellectual activity isn't just daydreaming. It's the cause...

Wise thoughts: Summaries of classic philosophical works in words of one syllable

These are fun. I'll post a few. Link at the bottom. "Philosophy is notable for its jargon, so it is a good exercise to try to summarize its classic works in short texts of just one syllable. The past few days philosophers have provided such summaries, as a game in pandemic times, maybe inspired...

"Philosophically speaking, is the Trinity considered polytheism?"

It's been long said that the Trinity is a mystery in which can never be known. That may be true but I firmly believe that the Holy Spirit can bring revelation at any moment in time because our God is a living God, not a dead one!!!! For The Spirit is always at work. Hints and pieces of the...

    Decades in decline

Any thoughts on this? From Ravi Zacharias... “In the 1950s kids lost their innocence. They were liberated from their parents by well-paying jobs, cars, and lyrics in music that gave rise to a new term ---the generation gap. In the 1960s, kids lost their authority. It was a decade of...

    Is belief a choice?

Given any proposition p, is it a matter of choice to believe that p is true (or false)? It seems to me that if I strongly believe that p is true, then I will not be able to simply choose to believe that p is false. And, likewise, if I strongly believe that p is false, then I will not be able to...

"What indeed has Athens to do with Jerusalem?"

Was Tertullian correct when he posed the rhetorical questions, "What indeed has Athens to do with Jerusalem? What concord is there between the Academy and the Church?" (De praescriptione haereticorum VII) Is philosophy beneficial or detrimental to Christian thought and faith? Why or why not...

Atheists Overreach ... Why do they do that?

Ok. Yes, yes, I know! Everyone hates long, elaborate media representations, and in recognizing this, I realize that the following video is well over an hour long. You can just ignore most of the video if you want to since all that probably needs to be heard is what (Christian) sociologist...

    The Goes to the Christians

Is it possible that we are way past the days of Revelation? I mean this as in, what if the persecutions of the Jews and Christians by guys like Constantine were the End of Times? What if the wars were won already? What if the 1,000 years with Jesus happened? What if we are living in the time of...

Isn't time a measurement of motion?

If time simply measures motion, like Earth's orbit and rotation, then wouldn't that make time a concept of imagination. By this I mean, wouldn't time be a human concept? It wouldn't exist at all! What do you think of this?

Plato's Influence On The New Testament

In Acts 17:24-28 Paul says: “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else...

    God's Perfect Plan

This is going to be a bit fantastical and not really specific subject driven. These are simply some thoughts and reasons why I choose continuous belief in Christ. Give it some thought. Whether or not it matters is up to you. If I state something that is inherently wrong, please point it out. I'd...

    Is learning Greek Philosophy useful?

Getting spiritually Screwtaped Over – by C.S. Lewis

Below you'll find a fun and comical, yet brief, video representation of the 1st Letter from C.S. Lewis' book, The Screwtape Letters (… one of my favorite books!). Within the 1st letter of Lewis' playfully diabolical correspondence, we find two Demons who represent the possible ways--even if in...

Moral Outrage/Righteous Indignation--When is it appropriate???

Sometimes in this life, we open our eyes to the world around us and we see ethical inconsistencies and feel like we exist in some kind of moral and/or social disequilibrium. I suppose this is the case for just about any person, from any background, and of any political leaning, and it can be...
