  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Hyksos connection to the Israelites in Egypt?

Some historians (Manetho - an Egyptian, and Josephus - a Jew) see the two groups as one in the same. These actually make the claim the Hyksos, after being expelled from Egypt, went back to Canaan and founded the city of Jerusalem. More modern historians disagree, but there are a ton of...

    Gihon River contradiction

In Genesis 2:13 it says: "And the name of the second river: Gihon; this is the river that flows around the whole country of Cush." We remember that the Gihon River flows around Cush, which was in Yemen and NOT in Ethiopia. But now look what 2 Chronicles 33:14 says: And after that he built the...

Fairuz sings Coptic Kiahk praise song "Ya M-R-Y-M" (O M-A-R-Y) at Deir El Natour, Enfeh Lebanon

Never thought I'd see Fairuz singing a Coptic Orthodox song...though I know she's done Syriac hymns in the past (Shubho L'Haw Qolo; she also did it in Arabic as Subhan El Kalimat), some people say that's because her father was Syriac originally from Mardin (Syriac region in Turkey). As far as I...

From the headquarters of Deir Anba Antonious in Hurghada, under priest-monk Abaskhiron El Antoni. 400 Years of Enslavement Contradiction

Some believe a complete chronology from creation to present can be made using the Bible. I attempted to make such a chronology, but ran into a problem when I got to Jacob and his twelve sons. Using the genealogies of Adam and Shem found in the Book of Genesis, it's clear to see that it was 1880...
