  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

  1. Thoughts On The Book Of Acts - Love Like A Freight Train

Thoughts On The Book Of Acts - Love Like A Freight Train

When I was a kid we lived near the train tracks. On my way home from school, if I heard a train coming, I’d stop and place a penny on the train tracks. I had a collection of flattened pennies and nickels as a result. I remember walking home one day with my sister when we heard the train...

Thoughts On The Book Of Acts - Church

In chapter ten of the Book of Acts, the apostle Peter discovered that God wanted all people to hear the Gospel and receive salvation through Jesus Christ – not just the Jews as Peter believed. At this point, the church began to expand in a whole new way. Barnabas and Saul, who would later be...

Thoughts On The Book Of Acts - All Are Welcome

While the Bible is the solid foundation of our faith and the history reported therein is profoundly instructive, how we apply those lessons in today’s modern world needs to be carefully considered. The devil is using new schemes to turn people away from the church and we as Christian believers...
  6. Thoughts On The Book Of Acts - The Awesome Power Of God

Thoughts On The Book Of Acts - The Awesome Power Of God

The awesome power of God seems to get overlooked by most people. The miracles performed by Jesus and His apostles are so long ago we tend to discount them as something of the past – something unavailable to us today. While there are some Christian denominations that believe healing powers are...

Thoughts On The Book Of Acts - Transformed

When the disciple Stephan was stoned to death in Jerusalem, a man named Saul stood and watched with approval. Saul was given authority by the Jewish religious leaders to hunt down and imprison all followers of Jesus. Saul left Jerusalem to travel to Damascus on his mission to capture...

Thoughts On The Book Of Acts - Spread The Word

“Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.” Acts 8:4 (NIV) The eighth chapter of The Book of Acts begins with the turmoil in Jerusalem caused by the stoning death of the disciple Stephan. The followers of Jesus no longer felt safe in Jerusalem since Stephan was stoned...

Thoughts On The Book Of Acts - The New Temple

There are some people who are so set in their ways you cannot change their perspective no matter what you try. Some personal philosophies take over like an addiction. Many of those who have rejected the gospel do so with a compulsive nature that clouds their vision completely. Even if Jesus...
  12. Thoughts On The Book Of Acts - The Right Hand Of God

Thoughts On The Book Of Acts - The Right Hand Of God

Chapter 5 of the Book of Acts begins with a disturbing story of a man named Ananias and his wife Sapphira. They sold some land in order to give the money to the apostles; but rather than give them all the money, they kept some for themselves and told the apostles they sold the land for less...
  13. Thoughts On The Book Of Acts - Search The Word Of God

Thoughts On The Book Of Acts - Search The Word Of God

In the fourth chapter of the Book of Acts, the religious leaders had Peter and John arrested for healing a man who was lame from birth. Not much of a crime. But they were proclaiming Godly power. The religious leaders didn’t like that. The religious leaders decided the solution to the...

Thoughts On The Book Of Acts - Silver And Gold

“Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Acts 3:6 (NIV) There is something more valuable than silver and gold. In the third chapter of the Book of Acts, Peter and John are out spreading the gospel, bringing...

Thoughts On The Book Of Acts - More Than Miracles

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38 (NIV) The second chapter of the Book of Acts recounts what happened when the apostles were dramatically filled...

Thoughts On The Book Of Acts - Lifetime Cruise

“In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.” Acts 1:1-2 (NIV) Imagine you’re on an enormous cruise ship filled with thousands of...

    Peace And Joy

“You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.” James 4:2 (NIV) Many of the things we want are things we don’t need. The devil who is in control of this world (1 John 5:19) has so manipulated us we are in constant search of...
