  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If We Deliberately Keep On Sinning

Hebrews 10:26-31 ESV “If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy...

    As to The Lord

Ephesians 5:22-24 ESV “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.”...

    Is it True Love?

So, I had the song “Somewhere Out There” going through my mind for a couple of days, and it was in my mind again when I sat down to write. Some secular songs have a biblical theme to them and can be used both as a Christian or as a secular song, at least in part. But I saw no way this song could...

    Subtle Messages Intended to Deceive

Let Brotherly Love Continue Hebrews 13:1 ESV “Let brotherly love continue.” What is brotherly love? It isn’t just for men. It is the love that we, as followers of Jesus Christ, are to have for one another. And how are we to love one another? Affectionately? Properly, yes, but not only with...

From Now on Sin no More

John 8:1-6 ESV “But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. Early in the morning he came again to the temple. All the people came to him, and he sat down and taught them. The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst they said to him...

If They had Stood in God's Council

Jeremiah 23 ESV This passage of Scripture begins with a charge against the shepherds (pastors) of the sheep of the Lord’s pasture (the believers in Jesus), and against the prophets (preachers of the word of God). And this should include husbands and fathers who claim to be Christians, too, who...

    The Seductions of an Adulteress

Proverbs 6:6, 9 ESV “Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise… How long will you lie there, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep?” This lesson, this instruction in wisdom, is not for the person who makes no profession of faith in Jesus Christ. It is for the...

Matthew 5:27-28 ESV “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Sin is a heart issue. “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder...

    Unless You Fail the Test

Summary 2 Corinthians 1-12 The Corinthian church was riddled with sin, especially sexual immorality, I believe. It was questionable, thus, as to the legitimacy of everyone’s faith. So, Paul encouraged them to be reconciled to God, and he urged them not to receive God’s grace in vain. He also...
