It Was Impossible for Jesus to Sin

When you have to start changing the meaning of very basic words like what it means to be “tempted” it may not be the scriptures you’re defending, but your own ideas. Jesus “suffered” being tempted. If it were as you say merely a “test” (that He could not possibly fail) there would be no...

It Was Impossible for Jesus to Sin

I think I see what you’re saying, but if Jesus functioned as God in the earth with His powers of Deity, He would not have been an example to us, because we never could do what only God can do. He could be a sign to us, but not an example we could follow.

It Was Impossible for Jesus to Sin

Jesus, the last Adam, was just as capable of yielding to sin/disobedience as was the first Adam. Jesus did not lay aside His Deity, but the privileges of His Deity and became fully human capable of being tempted in all points even as we. He overcame all temptation through the scriptures and...

It Was Impossible for Jesus to Sin

If it were impossible for Jesus to sin, He could not have been our example. The bible teaches that God cannot be tempted with evil (James 1:13), but it also says that Jesus was tempted in in all points just as we are (Hebrews 4:15). So unless you understand the humanity of Jesus, the bible will...

Should I Tithe on the Sale of My House?

Right, just meant to say that going to a church that is debt free doesn’t free it’s members from their duty to tithe and give offerings. Blessings

I don’t think I understood what you were saying about overhead?

Should I Tithe on the Sale of My House?

Good question on the tithe, Proverbs says bring the tithe/first fruits of our INCREASE. That’s the profit. Ex. You pay $1000 for a car and spend $300 to fix it up and then sell it for $2000, you tithe off the $700 you profited. The $1000 you paid for the car and $300 you put into it should have...

    Why God Allows Adversity

    Good Word. Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. Hebrews 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Faith in Faith or Faith in Christ?

I’m not sure of the rules but I’m pretty sure If I were over in the Calvinist forum I would ebooted by now you've said that once before and still you’ve supplied no supportive texts nor replied to my answers. Your problem is with the Word itself. Can you explain how that Hebrews 11:6 does not...

Faith in Faith or Faith in Christ?

I disagree. The fruit of faith (faithfulness) along with the other fruit of the Spirit (as cultivator of the human spirit) is not for receiving from God but developing into the character of Christ. And no one has ever suggested that faith is ”obligating” God to anything. He has already promised...

Faith in Faith or Faith in Christ?

I agree that faith is not a mindset, but it will CAUSE a mindset. Scripture speaks of more than one type of faith: as a fruit (Gal. 5), as a gift (1 Cor 12) and that which comes by hearing the Word (Rom. 10:17). The type of faith that receives from God, and that Jesus rebuked his disciples for...

Faith in Faith or Faith in Christ?

Sorry Dave, you replied before I could get my additions in. .... Do you not see Hebrews 11:6 as faith being a condition? Too bad you weren’t there to tell the writer of Hebrews that his faith was in his faith and not on God. Faith is the condition for accessing Grace. Romans 5:2

Faith in Faith or Faith in Christ?

Dave, Faith in Christ, in His Word, is the condition for receiving from God. I didn’t say it the Word said it. No faith, no rewards. Hebrews 11:6. I’m not “trusting in my faith to move God”, (In over 25 years I have never heard any prominent WOF teacher say anything remotely like that), it’s...
