Although I got no problem with the 90s. Childhood was best in the 80s, 90s was the PERFECT time to be in the teens.

Doubt that.. the 90s had much better kid shows.. also pretty much anything good from the 80s was able to be experienced in the 90s.

Just like any life experience. You can read about it in a million books, hear the music, but the mindset, the "little things" so to speak that allow the experience to "shape" you.

I can watch movies about the 60s 70s but those decades didnt shape me so while I know things about the time at an intellectual level, I cant "understand" it at a deeper level than just the events of the decades. There is a separation or detachment from the intelectual experience than that of actually living it.

In a sense you're right. There is no cut off in the decade that defines them so much as it just happens.

For example the early 90s felt much like the 80s. However 98 felt nothing like the 80s. But then early 2000s felt nothing like the late 90s.
