CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ah yes, mate, though I hope you were not taking me literally. Because the evidentiary cards are stacked against the Flat Earth hypothesis, I felt that somebody should help them out, so I gave the best argument from direct observation I have ever heard, that from Tom McNamara, a PhD from MIT in electronics. ("The earth looks flat where I am. How about where you are?")
Any Flat Earther who can see the satire in McNamara's approach to the problem has some hope of understanding the difference between what in engineering we distinguish as incremental versus total variables representing physical quantities. Or in this case, any sufficiently small observer standing on a ball will see it as approximately flat around him anywhere on the ball. At any point on the ball, the surface of the ball around the point can be approximated by a plane tangent to it. The earth is a ball. And planes are flat. Therefore, limit theory in calculus can be applied to the physical world ... Any Flat Earther who does not understand this can continue to believe that the earth is flat.

The word "divided" might better be translated "measured", for in measuring, one has units of division by the measuring instrument. Thus, Peleg was the measurer of the earth, and it might have been from him that Almodad, son of Job got the geophysical constants encoded geometrically into the Great Pyramid, if indeed Almodad was the architect of that pyramid.

Hardly the gotcha evidence that you and your buddies think it is. Firstly this report was generated in 1988 when computing times were much slower than now. It was created to standardize and document the derivation of linear models used for aircraft dynamics, control law design, and simulation. It was written to bridge the gap in documentation regarding how these models are derived from nonlinear equations. The report never implied that the earth was flat in any way.

Reposting the above because you still have not done it. You've posted photos of the earth that you claim only look like a globe because they were, you allege, taken using a fish-eye lens. But that is what I am asking for evidence of - that taking a fish-eye lens photo of something that everybody agrees to be a disc (like a coin, a CD or a DVD) makes it look like a sphere. I remember looking it up once, and finding that a fish-eye lens would cause a disc to bulge in the middle, resulting in a barrel shape, not a sphere.

Wow! Newton, James Maxwell and Einstein (the founders of modern Science) all declare. the true Alohym Exist, and that their discoveries testify to this.
The word Torah (amongst other things) renders Science and Theory, to suggest that Science has no rooting in the Scriptures is a testimony that many Christians do not know their scripture as well as they suppose.

There are two well known facts, that are indisputable that debunk the Flat Earth concept, 1) we would all experience the same Sun Rise and Sun Set, there would not be Day time here and Nightfall there, 2) Alaska has extended periods of Daylight and Nightfall that last for days on end, this can only occur if the current model is correct.Very clever, I'll give you this one
On the other hand, a (perfect) circle is actually a polygon with 256 sides, the larger the circle, the longer the (straight line) sides are.
I actually crunched the numbers, but I would have to find my notes on the matter, but I know those (relatively) straight lines Compassing the earth are miles long.

I agree with your first paragraph, but not sure about a perfect circle being a polygon with 256 sides. I thought a perfect circle was a polygon with an infinite number of straight sides. I did a Google search for "polygon with 256 sides", and the first entry that came up was an AI overview which included these words:
" Due to the high number of sides, it appears almost identical to a circle." (my emphasis)

Refer back to high-school level geometry: Circles are not polygons and polygons are not circles. With limit theory from calculus, it is possible to show that the circumference of an n-sided polygon approaches in the limit that of a circle as n approaches infinity. Even so, finite-sided polygons are not circles.
Applying limit theory some more, consider a plane (which is flat) that is tangent to a sphere (like the earth). At any point on the sphere, as the distance from this tangent point along the plane increases, its distance from the surface of the sphere increases. But from somewhere on either plane or sphere that is removed from the tangent point, if the distance to the tangent point is reduced, then in the limit as it approaches zero, the sphere and plane difference becomes indistinguishable. Thus, everywhere on the sphere, it will, over a short distance, appear to be approximately flat. This distinction appears to be lost on Flat Earth advocates who fail to distinguish between total and incremental distances.
