  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What did you last eat?!

Just had a salad, and my cat seemed way more interested in it than I was. I should have just given it to her. It was terrible. I gave her a tiny bit of chicken. Then she bit my finger, because apparently it tasted/smelled like chicken. Learned my lesson!

Well, we usually eat really healthy around here. I have lost a lot of weight too. But I was a little bit of a bad girl today, to be honest. :( You see, Catherine brought home some peanut butter and jelly today from the store and I hadn't eaten that stuff in years, so I ate it! Its food that is very bad for you and unhealthy I know. Processed stuff. I was naughty. :( Christina is probably going to give me a lecture on why I shouldn't eat it. She is a health nut.

Wait a minute...you guys are all talking about eating cinnamon rolls and cakes! So you guys are all naughty too! LOL. Oh, that's hilarious. Well, at least that makes me feel better about eating the peanut butter and jelly...

Food is not inherently wrong. Some foods are healthy and some are less so, but all food gives at least a little of something that we need. Sometimes in some extreme situations where less healthy foods are the only thing available, it's probably more unhealthy to not eat at all. "Bad" calories is better than no calories.

The thing to be mindful of is moderation. Scripture says, "all things in moderation."

Eating too much of less healthy food is harmful. Eating a little bit of it is not harmful, especially if your diet is more healthy most of the time.

When we place moral values on foods we put legalistic, shameful, and spiritual burdens on people. I do not believe that is what God intended.
