You know those websites and videos that expose things they think are bad? It looks like we're under attack. Out of curiosity, I saw this website exposing many Christian forum sites, including this site we use, because I wanted to check if any other Christians think this site is evil since they tend to claim that of a lot of things (and I think that's how I got my anxiety problem!) are bad. This is the site that "exposes" us.
So-Called Christian Forums
Help?
I can't access the site. Evidently because the site is http rather than https. So Brave says "Not".
Anyway, you want to know if anyone thinks these forums are evil.
The only evil sites that exist, are
- those that promote pornography in all forms, because they aim is to glorify immorality and suck in those who want to please God. Colossians 3:5, 6
- those that glorify violence and gore. They have a sadistic view of fun. Psalm 11:5
- those that promote spiritism in all forms. Deuteronomy 18:10-14
...and things of this sort.
No 'Christian' website is evil, because they do not intentionally set out to lead people away from God.
While, they mostly have good intention, what most of them (99.8%) have in common, is that they give people a false sense of security... not because they are evil. Some are sincere.
I am not able to give a percentage of those that are sincere, because I am not God, but though they are misled (100&), a portion of that are sincere, while another portion play the three monkeys, in the hope that ignorance will get them off the hook.
You don't have to accept anything I say.
However, a study of the Bible has revealed this to myself and others.
You said, "hey tend to claim that of a lot of things (and I think that's how I got my anxiety problem!) are bad"
Are you worried that you might be party to evil by joining a forum that may be evil?
Please note that God does not hate people for searching for answers, or trying to find a people that are following his way, and associating with them.
In fact, God wants you to search for his people. John 15:8; Matthew 7:15-20
I can tell you though, that joining a forum for this purpose, is not going to accomplish such a purpose.
Studying the Bible is the only way you will accomplish such a purpose... By that, I don't mean studying the Bible without guidance. Acts 8:26-40
If I am lost, or trying to find some place I am unfamiliar with, I would be happy to have a map, but the map does not have every detail, and so, I would welcome help from someone familiar with the area.
Having the map helps me avoid being misled, by any guide that's up to no good. Psalm 119:105
So, studying the Bible, and accepting help, is the sure way to alleviate any anxiety.
Also, there is no need to panic, so long as you are sincerely, and honestly searching, since there is no rush. Matthew 7:7-11
God is not going to be annoyed with you, for being careful. Rather, he will help you, because he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
I'm addressed my comments to you, the OP, due to the guidelines of the
SOP.
Christian advice is defined as advice which contains basic Christian principles that do not conflict with the site's Statement of Faith. We would ask that members direct their responses to the member who started the thread and refrain from debating one another's theological beliefs and viewpoints. Do not use this forum to debate with other Christians as that is not the purpose of the Requests for Christian Advice forum. If members would like to discuss/debate specific Christian theological doctrines, they should do so in one of the Theology forums.
All advice should be given in the spirit of love and humility, extending grace and respect towards one another in an effort to encourage and uplift the member seeking advice. We would like this forum to remain a safe place where Christians can request advice from other Christians without fear of being attacked. With this in mind, posts that chastise or belittle another member will be deleted and the member may be banned from the thread. Posts that debate rather than advise will also be deleted and the member may be banned from the thread. If you are banned from a thread and would like to discuss the situation with an Administrator, please open a ticket in support.
Members who post a thread with the intent to give advice, not ask for advice, may either have their thread moved to more appropriate forum, or removed as off topic if there isn't a suitable forum for their thread.
May I ask how long you have had anxiety.. whether in your teens, o older?
