  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The New York Times reports the two individuals have been transferred from the custody of the Pentagon to the U.S. State Department for their repatriation. They note that the U.S. has handed individuals in the past over to friendly countries when they were intercepted outside the country. The Coast Guard, in the past in the Caribbean, however, after stopping drug trafficking boats, has also arrested the individuals and brought them to the U.S. for prosecution.

Why are they being repatriated to Ecuador and Colombia? I thought that Trump declared war on Venezuelan traffickers to justify murdering them on the open seas. So is it anyone from South or Central America?

The Trump administration has provided little legal justification for the strikes, which the president first announced Sept. 2 during a White House press conference. The administration says the strikes are military self-defense operations under U.S. Title 10. Both Republican and Democratic lawmakers have raised concerns over the legality of the strikes.

These were known terrorists, the submarine was carrying a large shipment of fentanyl and other drugs. Over 80,000 Americans died of drug overdoses in 2024. 58, 220 Americans died in the entire Vietnam War.

Perhaps Americans should stop taking illegal drugs. It's not as if the cartels were making them - they are seeking them out and paying good money.

Their own countries can prosecute them. The Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN) is recognized as a terrorist organization by the United States and the European Union. The ELN uses people from Ecuador and Columbia..

These were narco-terrorists who traffic drugs to the United States. The video is declassified, as to the actual drugs you can look but I don't think there is much left to find given the wind and the waves. It's similar to the situation with Iran, they were given warning but continued on.
