How do you think AI has effected Christianity and the gospel?

I don't see why the existence of AI proves existence of a creator. I get it, the existence of the universe is a profound mystery. And one is, understandably, very tempted to posit a creator as a "first cause". But this reasoning eats its own tail; if you are going to appeal to the necessity of a cause existing for everything, you have to then inquire about the cause of this creator. And so you're just pushing the problem back one level.

Claiming that the universe "just is" is, admittedly, not very satisfying as we have this profoundly innate sense that everything must have cause. But, as just demonstrated, there are problems with that position as well.

In response to the original question, I confess I see no obvious effect of the rise of AI on the gospel.
I think it can help someone find teaching resources. Im sure it can outline seemons but using it foo much takes the Holy Spurit out if the loop. The best sermons need the pastor to hear God about the subject matter and how to proceed. Pure human or ai effort will gwnerally fall short.

AI is not human. It's only repeating what it has been taught by humans ad nauseam.

I am not sure if this is relevant to the theme thread, but I will point out that AI will almost certainly surpass human capabilities in the not too distant future. In this respect, it will, in the future at least, have the capability to think on its own and not merely repeat.

That’s quite terrifying, imo!

I certainly agree there is reason to be concerned. On the other hand, it certainly seems to me that AI has the potential to solve some of humanity's greatest problems. For example, I am told that it may be able to rapidly speed up the development of therapeutic drugs.

I don't think it's had much if any affect at all.

I think this only works if the pastor, through study of scripture and the Holy Spirit, already knows what needs to be spoken. AI in that context can help arrange thoughts. But it's important to already know the spiritual truth, because AI can be very, very wrong even on basic things.

I think AI can be used as a tool but I look upon it as an advanced concordance....with heightened abilities then just that. It brings together words in a very unique way never thought of. Not that titles of sermons are so very important but I sometimes give it the text of my sermon and ask it to give me 100 possible titles for it using only 6 words. 90 of them may miss the mark completely but 10 are very good and reflect perfectly what I said in the text. For example on my youtube channel I have sermons....one is about MAN landing on the Moon with Apollo 11 but I take the Sea of Tranquility (on the Moon) as a metaphor that we want to land our lives in Jesus Christ.....He is our Prince of Peace, thus that's what Tranquility means. AI came up with the title, "Jesus Christ : Our True Tranquility Base!" I thought that was good.

It used to be you could evaluate who you asked about Christianity to determine if they knew what they were talking about. Today people are supposed to take as true whatever comes out of a box. Satan gas worked for centuries to have first an alternative "truth" to offer. Now he is in a position to have the only "truth". There has never been a more important time to be a Berean.
