Whoohoo! Cancel culture, Maga style!

I didn't answer your poll because I don't know and don't care about this particular show. It is deeply concerning that the White House can and does interfere in private businesses.
Of course the president can interfere in private business. We saw that with the covid mandates.

So what public health emergency is cancelling TV shows hoping to offset? What mortality rate are we hoping to mitigate? What public health facility are we hoping to support through reducing viral spread by cancelling TV shows that the president doesn’t like?

Their habitual lawsuit inducing defamation. Remind me how many times the had to make corrections and public apologies at the request of their lawyers.
I have no idea. That’s why I asked. I don’t pay attention to them.

Always failing to comprehend the text that's right in front of you.

If it is cancelled, it'll be for whatever reasons influenced the executives. One potential reason posited by the OP was the "liability" it posed given the administration's call for it to be cancelled. That is censorship.
The influence was ratings. They were losing money.

Government does that all the time (yes, from the WH from various presidents). Presidents have been heard making speeches all the time about changing businesses in how they operate, what they can sell, and which ones should be shut down and certain products (even ones related directly to the Constitution) need to be banned. This is nothing new.
Then the U.S. has ceased to be the Land of the Free anymore. Freedom means let the markets decide.

Oh? You know this how, exactly? Do you have some insight into the financials of the show that I'm not aware of?

So, I finally went and read the OP's articles rather than merely reacting to his commentary and, it seems as if none of you read them, either.

The View's "summer hiatus" was planned and normal.

Their supposed ratings slump constituted an average of 2.5 million views over the last month. According to the same article, Fox's record-breaking January had an average primetime audience of 2.8 million. Now, 2.8 is obviously higher than 2.5, but it's not that much higher, especially when you figure that you're comparing primetime to mid-day. That doesn't strike me as anything worth fretting over.

According to USTVDB, their ratings have been pretty steady for the last 4 years:

I know that was directed at a different user...

But I would say that the Senate (amid Covid) hauling a bunch of people up to Capitol Hill to browbeat them and try to get them to filter content would be a comparable example.
I dont think so. Right or wrong they were acting for the sake of a public health emergency. Thats really different that shutting down political criticism.

Joe Rogan was/is Spotify's bread & butter in many ways, them trying to get them to either censor him or add warning labels to his content to dissuade people from consuming it would be an example of "government trying to change how businesses operate"
Im not familiar with the specifics of this one. If they were trying to stifle political critique, then yeah, that would be similar.

Which business was singled out for retribution? Not one. Which business was sued that resulted in lining the president's coffers? Not one by Biden.

The issue with Fox is Cable.....Making it surpassing the view quite a difference.

Fox is obviously doing well. That’s not in dispute. But you claimed that The View was losing money; the OP implied that their ratings are tanking. In reality, their ratings experience short-term fluctuations but have stayed pretty steady since 2021. They were steady for several years prior to that, too. I don’t know what happened in 2020-2021 that caused a dip in viewers, but it appears to have been a one-off, so it sort of doesn’t matter. There was no downward trend in overall viewership.
