I was just at the doctor yesterday. How do you know what doctors do?
No. Are you?Are you a doctor?
Yes.Have you ever worked with doctors?
No.Have you ever worked in a large city medical center?
I ask again: Do you have one single example of a doctor delaying or denying treatment because of protesters? You appear to be just assuming things on a grand scale with nothing to support your position.
So you have no evidence to suggest to you that doctors don’t, or shouldn't, take issues that might result in legal issues for them, into consideration when addressing care concerns for their patient? That is patently ridiculous. I have cared for a multitude of patients with a multitude of legal/ethical issues where treatment was delayed till the lawyers could either go to court or resolve things privately with the family before treatment progressed. You are just naive or too biased to think that something like this doesn’t fall into that category.I was just at the doctor yesterday.

No.

Or are you just making things up?
I’m sorry to hear that. I hope she is doing ok now.My daughter just a few weeks ago went through a scary experience here in Texas of an emergency room being hesitant to treat her for an incident severely bleeding uterine polyps because they were afraid it was a miscarriage.
I never said that.So you have no evidence to suggest to you that doctors don’t, or shouldn't, take issues that might result in legal issues for them, into consideration when addressing care concerns for their patient?
Your trying to put words in my mouth is ridiculous. That is patently ridiculous.
I'm still waiting for an example that was a result of protesters. You keep trying to change the subject.I have cared for a multitude of patients with a multitude of legal/ethical issues where treatment was delayed till the lawyers could either go to court or resolve things privately with the family before treatment progressed. This lack of ability to understand what goes on in hospitals on an daily basis and you contradicting the statement the patient made in the article based on your biased viewpoint is evidence you are not here for a serious discussion.I never said that.

Like leftist protesters infiltrating Emergency Departments, handing out flyers and generally being underfoot? This lack of ability to understand what goes on in hospitals on an daily basis
We often talk past one another when we’re mostly in agreement, on a topic where the lines are (usually) clearly well defined…perhaps this has happened here but we’re so caught up in “fighting the good fight” that we may miss it when it happens?and you contradicting the statement the patient made in the article based on your biased viewpoint is evidence you are not here for a serious discussion.
It’s comments like this where you are clearly making things up out of thin air that get in the way of discussing things without animosity. Talking past each other is one thing that, unfortunately, is to be expected, but to accuse someone of saying something they clearly never said (except in your mind) is more harmful to the discussion.Like leftist protesters infiltrating Emergency Departments, handing out flyers and generally being underfoot?

Okay then let us rehash the discussion. It’s comments like this where you are clearly making things up out of thin air that get in the way of discussing things without animosity. I didn’t start the thread so I don’t know what the person who did thought there was to discuss. As a nurse, I joined the discussion to speak about the differences between emergency medical procedures designed to save someone’s life when it is in danger and elective procedures, and how the laws governing abortion are directed towards elective abortion because doctors have always had the right to perform procedures necessary to save lives.Okay then let us rehash the discussion.
All agree that this woman went to the ER with a medical condition that gave pause to medical staff as to how best to proceed and after a few hours delay, the woman got the care that she needed.
What else was there to discuss?
The “issue” seems to have been:I didn’t start the thread so I don’t know what the person who did thought there was to discuss. So I see you read minds, too, to know what people are thinking. Maybe, just maybe, things are just as she said because it’s not unheard of for abortion rights activists to be overly zealous in their activisting. The “issue” seems to have been:
[Cammack] told the newspaper that she did not blame the Florida law for what she experienced. Rather, she lay the blame on messaging from abortion-rights advocates, which she said made hospital staff afraid of giving drugs even in circumstances where it was legal.
Cammack’s scapegoating of abortion-rights activists, which is odd, considering that they’d want pregnancy termination options for all women, not just those with a life-threatening conditions.
I'm waiting for you to tell me how often doctors' decisions were determined by protesters at your hospital. Why won't you answer? This lack of ability to understand what goes on in hospitals on an daily basis and you contradicting the statement the patient made in the article based on your biased viewpoint is evidence you are not here for a serious discussion.
The cause of the delay is the entire reason for the thread.Okay then let us rehash the discussion.

In other words, doctors delayed treatment because of protesters? You keep claiming that, but nobody with half a brain believes that.So I see you read minds, too, to know what people are thinking. Maybe, just maybe, things are just as she said because it’s not unheard of for abortion rights activists to be overly zealous in their activisting.
Actually I haven’t claimed that at all. Except in your own mind.In other words, doctors delayed treatment because of protesters? You keep claiming that, but nobody with half a brain believes that.
I don't know about doctors delaying treatment because of protestors. In other words, doctors delayed treatment because of protesters? You keep claiming that, but nobody with half a brain believes that.
