Job defines the Rod in its cast down state, and equates it with fear. When we bring this into the garden scenario, the rod that causes them to eat shows the fruit of this truth, but it is also the rod that drives the foolishness from the mind of the child (of God), as it is one of two that have the wisdom to build the tabernacle, which brings us back to a tree. The book of Job (is a book of within) where Job is brought to a consensus within himself.
No matter how much we cut up this cherry there is no legitimately avoiding the facts that we all have sin, Romans 3;9, and that sin is "of the devil," 1 John 3:8, Mark 4:15

When, if ever we see this fact we'll quit trying to justify ourselves, start being honest about it, stop thinking that devils in anyone obey laws or is faithful, etc etc.

We as a whole are simply awash in various lies about the subject, and therefore, therein remain slaves to the devil after a fashion of lying hypocrisy

I just got sick of hearing it is all, mostly from my own denying mind

Until we have looked upon whom we have pierced ... we don't understand sin ...

Just to say ... I have not said in any post on this thread that all have not sinned ... to me this "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" (and here I agree with Paul and whoever the other fella was) is first principles (or a foundational truth), to coin a phrase ...

To eat or not eat, yet is the question ...

It doesn't say unclean foods. There are food if we eat that will kill us, so God never said anywhere in His Word we can eat unclean food, without taking it out of context. I will take Peter’s testimony over our manmade ones any day considering the warning Isa 66:17 It was eating something we weren’t supposed to that got us in the whole mess. Guess we will have to agree to disagree.
If Jesus was worried about the disciples not eating " unclean" food, why did he say " eat anything set before you " to the disciples?

Peter never interpreted what He said the way you are and he was there. If this is the end result Isa 66:17 nothing else can mean anything different and it doesn’t. What God deems an abomination, never changes. We have plenty of clean foods God gave us, why risk it, but we have free will.

“Those who sanctify themselves and purify themselves, To go to the gardens After an idol in the midst, Eating swine’s flesh and the abomination and the mouse, Shall be consumed together,” says the LORD.

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are,

I agree ... but God had to start somewhere ... The only one that God/Christ lost was the one that never was.
BelieveItOraNot

"If you think that was Judas I'd have to say nay.

The one who will be lost is Satan, who had entered Judas, Luke 22:3, John 13:27

IF you say it's Judas that brings up other scriptural barriers for that sight."

How did you get that out of what I said ... I'm just curious ... also who/what is Satan to you?

Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline drives it far from him.

A rod of correction imparts wisdom, but a child left to himself disgraces his mother.

Discipline your son, and he will give you rest; he will bring delight to your soul.

the image of self\truth by way of our flesh ... a husband not our own
The temptation of both Adam's are the same ... as Jesus had said, you can't add one cubit to your stature by it.

I have said it before ... the Christian and the Atheist both fall into the same pit.

What God deems an abomination, never changes.
Who made that rule?

Is the promised land still an abomination? (Jer 2:7)
We have plenty of clean foods God gave us, why risk it, but we have free will.
When did it become a "risk" to take Jesus at his word (Mt 15:11, Ac 10:14-15)?

Jesus (Mk 7:15) and Paul (Ro 14:14) both say that no food is unclean.

Why do you not believe them?

You seem to be taking this verse out of context. It doesn't say the promised land is an abomination

Jer 2:7 I brought you into a bountiful country,
To eat its fruit and its goodness.
But when you entered, you defiled My land
And made My heritage an abomination.

The people defiled the land and made it an abomination, not that the land is or was ever an abomination.
When did it become a "risk" to take Jesus at his word (Mt 15:11, Ac 10:14-15)?

Jesus (Mk 7:15) and Paul (Ro 14:14) both say that no food is unclean.

Why do you not believe them?
Jesus was never speaking of food. He was using food as an illustration in a parable and said plainly what He meant

Mat 15: 15 Then Peter answered and said to Him, “Explain this parable to us.” (obviously not about food or no explaining would be needed)
16 So Jesus said, “Are you also still without understanding? 17 Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. 20 These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.”

Why Peter after 20+ years after this still never ate unclean foods, because he knew it wasn't what Jesus was referring to as He clearly explained in the parable.

Acts 10:4 But Peter said, “Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”

It becomes a risk when Jesus tells us at His return what happens ....and we choose not to believe. He gave us plenty of clean foods to eat, not worth the risk for me, but we are given free will.

Isa 66:17 “Those who sanctify themselves and purify themselves,
To go to the gardens
[a]After an idol in the midst,
Eating swine’s flesh and the abomination and the mouse,
Shall [b]be consumed together,” says the Lord.

When did it become a "risk" to take Jesus at his word
Never

Why I would seriously reconsider this statement when you indicated previously we do not have to listen to His teachings and preaching on His own Law said to "whoever" meaning for everyone Mat 5:19 or in Mat 15:3-14, which obviously would include Mat 15:11 His teachings were never pick the ones we like and the others are "old covenant"
Jesus was born, lived, preached and died under the Old Covenant law.

Different set of circumstances, same garden experience ... where a son becomes defiled ... by not keeping a commandment and entering into the rest the land represents in relationship to the son we are ... a hearing of the ear/earing (though not out order).

Not what was being discussed, but thanks for your thoughts. The claim was His promise land was an abomination, but thats not what the Scripture is saying, it was saying by their defilement they made it an abomination, not that the land itself was an abomination.

The heritage is the land. . .

Explains so much about your hermeneutic.
The people defiled the land and made it an abomination, not that the land is or was ever an abomination.

This was never something we were debating.

This is what we were discussing
Is the promised land still an abomination? (Jer 2:7)
And once again, the promised land wasn't the abomination, the abomination was they defiled it.

I'll pray that one day you will see the difference.

We all done ingested in case you missed it
To me ... to pick up your cross, or to lose your soul is the same truth as keeping the first commandment (which the tree yeilds its fruit by).
