The next morning, as Donker woke up in the hammock where he slept, he gave thought as he did each morning that way to what there was needed for him to do. He looked over to his fruit container. It still had enough fruit for that day, he saw, so he would not need to go to the gathering for more, yet. And then thoughts of what he learned about gorilla ancestors coming here came to him. Then he remembered, he would have to go all the way to the other end of the canyon, carrying Dick Dancer on his shoulders, to find what they could that would explain how the chill dogs and the superwolves came to this canyon originally. He knew it would be a long walk there, and back again. Well then, it would be better to start early that way, to go in the cool of the morning. He got up, and ate a few of the fruits there, and took a couple more, to have with him on the outing later on. He thought then, hopefully Dick Dancer would bring something for food for himself along with him, too.

When Donker had made himself ready for going out, he went to the doorway and then went to the space between his quarter and that of the tribbel marmosets, to watch for when he might spot Dick Dancer. But Dick Dancer was already out, there, just across the space between their quarters, looking toward him, certainly having waited.

Donker said to him, "You are ready, for us to go that way?"

Donker said to him, "You are ready, for us to go that way?"

Dick Dancer said, "I sure am."

Donker said, "And you have food you can eat, while we are on this long outing to get there?"
"I have fruit along with me, here, and this covering mat I can use to ride over your shoulders on. It will make it more comfortable."

"For me? Or for you?"

"I think it will be more comfortable for both of us. If you can now, let's go do this."

Donker carried Dick Dancer that way, along the row of shelters of the tribbel marmosets on that side, across from homes of the chill dogs on the other side. There were the gardens of growing fruits and vegetables along that way, after every half dozen or so shelters. That went on a long way. Still after going far that way, they came to the last of the homes. Here it was noticeable even to them that the high canyon walls were not as high here, and they deceased in height even further. Yet the way to the area of the wide band of trees and the hedges among them.
Late that morning they came up to that band of trees and hedges, the canyon walls, much lower here, came to an end where there was a lower drop from them. They saw some trees here were those that bore olives, so that they might pick some. The sea was further on, and from here Donker saw that there was a structure, still distant.

"That must be the pier, there!"

Dick Dancer said, "But notice that dark area there, between those trees. What is it, it makes a round shape?!"

Donker said, "Of course I notice it. That is just a hole, with the shrubs growing around it."

"But we came from caves and tunnels, and we are looking for what way chill dogs and superwolves came, we should look at this."

They came nearer. They then saw a long passage.

The passage Donker and Dick Dancer saw was not like other passages known about. It was darker further in, but near this opening they saw straight walls on either side reach down to a straight floor, that led from this opening a far way in. There was a vertical rectangular door frame with a covering panel hinged to it on the right side near the opening.

Dick Dancer said, "We might explore in here, and find if there is indication this passage would be where chill dogs and superwolves came through from their place of origin."

Donker said, "I don't know what a door there in this passage would have to do with that. I still wanted to go where that pier is farther out that way to the great area of water."

Dick Dancer said, "We can still look in here and see what that door is to. Then after that I will go with you to see that pier, if you can reach it that far."

Donker did not argue, and he went in still carrying Dick Dancer, and, going through this dark passage they came to this door. And from here they saw there was another door further in, where it was much darker, still.

Donker opened that door, with that covering panel swinging out. Within, they soon made out an altar, and behind it was a statue, and there was an image on the wall behind that. The statue was in the likeness of a large superwolf, standing up on the hind legs, a front paw reaching to the altar on one side. The image on the wall showed four chill dogs, facing each other, except four one looking out toward the viewer. They were standing on a surface depicted as being all white, the chill dogs had just a slightly different shade. Clusters of trees, which were designating pine trees, were on all sides around them in that image.

Donker said, "I am sure we must conclude that whoever had been here making these things had some knowledge at least of the superwolves and chill dogs. So it is reasonable after all that they came through this passage to where we all dwell now. I do not know that they themselves would create these things here. But we shall now go to that pier as planned. Surely we might learn more that can shed light, with who we would speak with there."

Dick Dancer was still looking with amazement at these things in this room. But there was no further way this way, and he then spoke his agreement to go, and they left that room with the strange contents, and went back to that hole that was the entrance to the dark passage, and went on from there toward the pier.

The structure that must serve as the pier, sticking out from the shore well on over the water, was still well past the line of trees, which they went through, gathering a few olives along the way from where they grew. Passed the trees they were a bit closer to that destination, and they saw a few figures moving around by it. These figures were not familiar to either one of them. And far out away from the shore they saw a distant thing floating on the water. It was moving, too. Donker with Dick Dancer went on, cautiously approaching the unfamiliar figures. Then some there saw them.

Donker then set Dick Dancer, the tribbel marmoset, who had been riding on his shoulders, down onto the ground on the other side from the approaching one, and then turned to face that one. He stood up taller, and avoided showing fear. The tallbird did have a great beak and it sure looked like that one knew how to use it. But other than that the tallbird was not equipped with anything further that could be threatening. While tall and erect on two long legs, the bird was yet more frail in appearance than Donker, the game gorilla.

The tallbird spoke first when near enough to be heard. "Why have you, who must be from another place, come here?"

Donker said, "I came on a small expedition with my companion from that narrow valley there where more of our kinds are dwelling. We especially wonder about the chill dogs and superwolves who would have come from outside that valley where they now dwell. They obtain things through trade right here too, don't they?"

That one said, "This is all true. But you see that we of my kind are working with lizardmen who are there, with their homes in caves under that reef. We have recently come to a truce after ages of hostility between us. They are predatory. You and especially your companion are not safe around them."

"Then we will not come closer. But we want answers to what I mention we came to find out."

The tallbird said, "There are things traded here, that the superwolves and the chill dogs come here for. That ship out there is incoming, and will bring rare things that we do not have here at all, and those beings on it trade those for valuable things we have here. You would not recognize those beings, with arms that are rather like yours, and standing up tall as I do, on strong legs, as the lizardmen have, and they have strange things on them covering much of themselves."

Donker asked, "And do you say you know where the superwolves and the chill dogs came from?"

"The first ones ever seen were in that wooded area. It was many generations ago. Some of them eventually came out, coming here to see what would happen here. The lizardmen were dominant here then. My kind were coming when they could, for a chance to trade out things for what the ships then brought, but the lizardmen would be here most of the time benefitting from that. The superwolves with the chill dogs along with them came, and worked out an arrangement to trade things they made for what was brought. They still lived in that wooded area a long time, but then were seen moving up that way into the canyon. Some always kept coming for the trading they had arranged."

Donker said, "Oh! I want to see those on that thing you say is a ship bringing things to make trade for. Those different beings sound interesting, I want to see what they are like!"

The tallbird speaking with him and maybe Dick Dancer who peaked from behind Donker, said, "But I gave you a good description. That makes you interested to see them? They will be here for just moments and then leave. You do not have anything with you to make any trade, anyway. But it is just as well, you should not become so brave to come near to the lizardmen there. They still have predatory behavior, while they have a truce to abide by with us, who are in that vicinity to make trade as well."

Donker said, "And those ones coming do not worry about the predatory lizardmen?"

"They have adequate ways for defending themselves. But all here really want the trade for things they like but would never get, without the trade that all agree to have."

Donker still said, "We can just wait right here, and when they get to the pier, which I see they must for any trade happening, we would be still near enough to see those who ride the ship. Then we will go very soon after that."

Dick Dancer said, "We should then. There are things we should yet see in that wooded area, surely."

The tallbird was turning and then went back toward the pier, where others like that one were, waiting with objects they had brought for what trade they would, near to the lizardmen on the pier and around it.

Interesting, it must have taken you lots of time to write this.

I got an IRL one for your thoughts, Imagine going to the store one day and you find a stranger. You don’t know who this guy is yet, but you will soon enough.

You’ve been living as a prodigal for almost fifteen years and the moment you realized who this stranger was and is, you realize that God is reaching out for you to get away from your past.

Because it wasn’t who you are. You've been so paranoid all your life just to find a taste of true pronoia for once. Not the devil, not demons, pure angelic sanity. The voices were so comforting.

You changed your ways because you were promised grace through God’s kindness, rather than anger or karma.

No matter how or why you realized this person you half met; is now a mirror image because now you are looking through their, YOUR own eyes.

But how and why will matter later. God doesn't just give goodies to anyone. The decisions you make beyond that point will decide whether the medicine is going to work or not.

Interesting, it must have taken you lots of time to write this.

I am actually writing a lot, much of my time, there is a lot of other material I am working on. I had been trying to show some writing I can do through here, several years ago I was putting in an intro for explanation of what I have showing up later. But it didn't seem to hold interest though one here back then expressed interest, but then disappeared from the forums sometime later. I eventually dropped from the last story arc, but I did not feel good about leaving it hanging, and came again to get things a bit more wrapped up. I can always respond to messages for having ways to find my writing still.

Donker and Dick Dancer watched that object on the water, the ship, come near to the shore, along that long pier, on which some of the lizardmen stood with baskets holding things by them.

Then a docking bridge extended from this ship, which the game gorilla and the tribbel marmoset could see was consisting of many tightly interlocking planks of wood forming a complex structure that would be driven over the surface of the huge body of water. And several of those beings from somewhere else came down with baskets of their own, woven distinctly of different material, which was darker, full of items. These were placed down by the other other baskets, which were picked up and brought on to the ship.

These other beings from somewhere else were bigger than the lizardmen. They stood and walked fully upright, on their strong legs. They carried the things with strong arms. What was seen of their bodies beyond the sort of flowing gown they wore was covered with some long dark hair, over the shoulders and arms, and the legs and the big feet, of these ones from somewhere else. There was this hair over their heads and over their faces. They might have been like the gorillas from the canyon, but a bit more hairy, larger, and with arms and legs different for walking upright and carrying things easily. Their faces seemed a bit different, being flatter.

The lizardmen withdrew with the baskets of items brought to them. The tallbirds came forward onto the pier with items they brought, to trade.

Suddenly, three superwolves ran by, on one side of Donker and Dick Dancer, not very far from them. They each had a bag carrying some things in the grasp of their jaws, they ran on toward the pier further on.

When those tallbirds had finished on the pier and with their strong bills carried these baskets with items from far away that they traded for along with them to leave the pier, the three superwolves ran on to the pier toward the traders from the ship still there. Those big hairy traders then brought three more baskets with the items brought with them down to the pier, and exchanged them for what the superwolves had brought. The three superwolves grasped those by the handle over them, and then they carried those away.

Donker, the game gorilla, set Dick Dancer, the tribbel marmoset, onto his shoulders again. He then approached the superwolves and they carried the baskets from there toward the canyon, and he waved to them, that they would come toward him. They then did so.
