Our real complaint? Is the one we have stated over and over. it is the same complaint multiple republican senators have stated. How many times does it need to be said before you accept we are serious about it?

We got a deal with Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Syria. This has the potential to be positive.

Let's accept the two gifts, an American hostage and a plane as a country that is happy to try and make some peace in the middle east if we are able, who are grateful for the overtures made by Qatar and Saudi Arabia toward that peace.

The gifts were the way they showed trustworthiness, and willingness to work alongside us as partners towards a more positive vision in the region.

Qatar gave a direct gift (the used plane), and an indirect gift (the hostage). One Qatari funded entity gave a gift to another Qatari funded entity. I wonder what was said about it on Qatari-funded al Jezzeriah.

The worry is that this is both.

A) A breach of the emoluments clause:
No Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.

B) Unethical:
This is the exact same behavior both Trump and the Republicans castigated the Biden's and the Clinton's over. So why is it suddenly OK when Trump does it?

CNN reported earlier Sunday that the Trump administration was set to accept a luxury plane from the Qatari royal family that will be retrofitted and used as Air Force One during the president’s second term, according to two people familiar with the agreement.

Given the massive value of a Boeing 747-8, the move is unprecedented and raises substantial ethical and legal questions. A Qatari official said the plane is technically being gifted from the Qatari Ministry of Defense to the Pentagon, describing it more as a government-to-government transaction instead of a personal one. The Defense Department will then retrofit the plane for the president’s use with security features and modifications.

What specific behavior are you referring to with the Clintons? I doubt it is exactly the same and since you didn't specify I really cannot comment.

Only if it were stuffed. Trump is not a pet person.

But that's a bad analogy as it would be that Trump would keep the leopard, then donate it to himself. That is his plan for the plane - to make the taxpayers pay for all necessary upgrades, then reserve it for whomever the "library" determines. Would the library then be expected to maintain, staff and fuel it? The plane is a white elephant, not an exotic leopard for which he'd have no use.

Considering the enormous cost, time and labor involved in retrofitting it, wouldn't it be more practical - efficient, if you will - to sell it and use the proceeds to pay down the national debt?

Those libraries have them on display as those planes are retired. Perhaps if this gifted plane were to be used until it was ready to be retired, twenty years from now, then donated, people wouldn't think it was for his own, personal use?
