CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Social Security numbers and other private information unmasked in JFK files
The Social Security numbers and other private information of more than 200 former congressional staffers and others were made public Tuesday in the unredacted files related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, according to a review by The Washington Post.“It’s absolutely outrageous. It’s sloppy, unprofessional,” said former Trump campaign lawyer Joseph diGenova, 80, whose private information was included in the release.

The Post, in its review of the previously redacted material, discovered the Social Security numbers, birthplaces and birth dates of more than 100 staff members of the Senate Church Committee, established in 1975 to investigate abuses by America’s intelligence agencies and government. The Post also discovered more than 100 Social Security numbers of staff members of the House Select Committee on Assassinations, which investigated the killing of Kennedy. Many of the individuals are still alive.
Many whose Social Security numbers were exposed had become high-ranking officials in Washington. They include a former assistant secretary of state, a former U.S. ambassador, researchers in the intelligence world, State Department workers and prominent lawyers.
“In some of these documents, the only thing that was being redacted for the last 20-plus years was someone’s Social Security number,” Zaid said. “It is dangerous for these individuals, who can now be doxed.”
[Yes, but if they shot JFK, maybe this transparency is warranted.]

I didn't say or imply that. Just noting that their incompetence had also revealed things that were not intended to be revealed at this time (like the SSNs).

What was incompetent about having a complete dossier on everyone touched by the investigation? Remember: Back then nobody used their SSN as security information--that didn't happen until the Internet era. When I was first in the military, our SSN was just a numeric version of our names. Heck, we had it imprinted on our bank checks. It meant nothing...back then.

Having a complete dossier is far from incompetent. Releasing classified documents without redaction would normally be considered incompetent. But the blame there goes to the top, the guy who ordered the release without anything even close to enough time to properly review the documents.
