Israel is a largely secular nation now and hardly represent the Israel of the Old Testament. They have rejected Christ as "Messiah" and remain in unbelief to this day.

That said, the fact that Jews have been scattered throughout the world and yet have been able to retain their identity as a distinct "People" is nothing short of miraculous! Are there examples of any other ethnic group who can claim such a history? If this is not enough, what about the fact that they have returned to their historical land to become a sovereign and independent nation after over 2,500 years?

As many have already stated, the Palestinians are not a "People" and never have been. Prior to Israel becoming a nation in 1948, it was nothing but desolate land occupied by nomadic tribes.

I would like to flip the question here and ask whether the Palestinians desire to peacefully coexist with the Israelis and I believe the answer is rather obvious. They and the majority of the surrounding Arab nations want the Israelis gone! I am sure there are good people who happen to be Palestinian who are simply caught in the middle of warring factions and I believe it behooves Christians to remember this. There are also a good number of Palestinian Christians who are our brothers and sisters in Christ and we need to pray for them just as we ought to be praying for Christians who happen to be Russian, Ukrainian, Iranian, Iraqi and Afghani.

Now, in order to answer your question, you should ask Muslims (and others who are non-Jews) who happen to live in Israel and call it "home?" Ask them how they are treated by Israeli Jews and those in the Israeli government? I believe the answer to your question is that they are quite "neighborly" towards anyone who does not desire to kill them! If someone was obsessed with killing you, I do not think you would respond so kindly!

STRANGER—The term “stranger” is mentioned 123 times in the Holy Bible

(Mal 3:5 KJV) And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.

(Jer 14:8 KJV) O the hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night?

(Deu 1:16 KJV) And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him.

(Deu 10:19 KJV) Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

(Deu 24:19 KJV) When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.

(Deu 24:20 KJV) When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

(Deu 24:21 KJV) When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

(Jer 7:6 KJV) If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:

(Jer 22:3 KJV) Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.

(Zec 7:10 KJV) And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.

(Exo 22:21 KJV) Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

(Exo 23:9 KJV) Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

(Lev 25:35 KJV) And if thy brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then thou shalt relieve him: yea, though he be a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with thee.

(Deu 10:18 KJV) He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.

(Deu 10:19 KJV) Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

(Lev 19:34 KJV) But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

Are the Israeli Jewish folks treating the stranger (Palestinian) as one of their own-?

Would you define, in the Old Testament Hebrew, and the New Testament Greek, what
words you are associating with the English word "stranger".

Your entire discussion seems to be in translation, and this does not accurately
refer back to the vocabulary of the Bible.

I suspect the real question might be What would David do to the blasphemous and cancer causing Philistines ? Because that is exactly what Jesus would do the next time Jesus shows up in His National role to Israel , he is bring the sword. The Governments of nations are to protect the peace and the welfare of it's own people.
GOD EVEN used Pegan Rome to keep the Peace in Israel because Israel had become more lawless and more evil than Pegan Rome was. To keep the peace of all peoples is why God established Governments over men, and mankind in the first place .!
Now when it comes to salvation and loving your neighbor that is something very different , yes we lay down our lives but not the lives of others , or children, or their families for the good of the "state " , we have only the right to sacrifice ourselves for our neighbors. No one else is to sacrifice others for the sake of the governments.
So the Government of Israel is under attack again and so is doing its Job, trying to keep it's people safe from terrorists even in It's midst.

But we can only Expect the Christians in Israel to love on the Palestinians. WE CANT EXPECT ISRAEL TO BE JESUS WHEN JESUS ISNT IN THEM AND THE LAWs of GOD GAVE THEM ( and every other nation ) it ONLY DEMANDS AN EYE FOR AN EYE to be just fair, and balanced . AND ALL THE OTHER NATIONS IN THE WORLD ARE AN EYE FOR AN EYE. EXCEPT THE NATIONS OF JESUS BODY. Yes I am held to a higher standard but I can not operate if my government is not doing the job God gave every nation to do. JESUS CAME AND BROUGHT A PERSONAL KINGDOM NOT A NATIONAL K8NGDOM YET. T HE NATIONS ARE NOT HELD TO ANY LAWS OF SACRIFICE , they are only there for peacekeeping and promoting a fair and balanced justice. IS ISRAEL DOING ITS GOD ORDAINED JOB ? YES. But even in Israel the Jews promoting peace , want to allow Christians to help rebuild Gaza, because Christians are the only ones who can, and the Jews know it.

"Palestinian" is a misnomer. Of course Israel is treating those who live in Israel as their own. Those who occupy huge portions of the land God gave to Israel are tolerated ... but they don't make it easy. They would love to erase Israel.
They're committing genocide against the Palestinians, as has been confirmed by international courts and human rights agencies.

Since this is the "Congregation specific" Ethics subforum, which Christian congregation are we discussing when dealing with Israel's treatment of anyone?
Christian Zionists is a specific designation. Typically, they're Dispensationalists. The word "congregation" is either far too specific (for example, the congregation at the church down the street from me, which the rest of you know nothing about) or is meant to be an all-encompassing term for Christians who accept particular beliefs.

If Israel's is still alive that offends those agencies there is no justice there, so Islamic ideas of fair and just is injustice. ISRAEL WAS unmercifully ATTACKED,! TERRORS TERRORIZED AND the cowards MURDERED CHILDREN and women , ISRAEL GOVERNMENTS MUST DEFEND ITS PEOPLE OR THERE WILL BE NO ISRAEL. We are 2000 years/ 2 days Israel has to Be there for the End for mank8nd abominations to play out until it's end.

The Palestinians/ committed genocide against the Jews in God's land ! It is Fathers land and no one can argue with that, at least they shouldn't! WE ARE 8 YEARS FROM THE END OF THE SECOND DAY, Israel must be there for Father will raise them from their grave on the third day , and these scriptures and many more will be true. Isa 19 :24 . Mar 9:31.. morning of the ressurrection is coming and everyone get ready to bow the knee, whatever you do do not rise up to fight him or you will go to where The Unjust will be taken. That place Satan goes for 1000 years, no onego there please.

The mouth of Death will be closed but the mouth of hell will be made larger by all those who riseup to fight Jesus. Stop fighting Jesus now or how will you stop yourself then? With every death the dem9nsin the unjust spread like they did when Elijah killed the The preists of Baal, then the poop storm of demons Attacked Elijah.. how will the unrepentant survive that? They will get possessed and make more curses like Jezebell di, like the pigs did when Jesus set free the man who was filled with legends of demonds. It just gets harder to repent So repent while you still can. Soften your heart now! Bless what God blesses ..
