  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anybody watch last night's debate between Trump and Biden?

I myself, personally, did not. But from what I've been reading on various news sites this morning, the Democrats and the MSM are both in a full-blown, meltdown panic.....Joe did not acquit himself too well as being the guy you want in charge of the nuclear codes.

I was horrified by our choices for president. Biden had a blank stare with his mouth hanging open. Trump didn't answer the questions that I needed answered, but kept blaming Biden for everything.

Instead of talking about how he would save Social Security, he launched into a spiel about how Biden was going to ruin it--not how he would save it. (I'm getting older, I'd like to know if it's going to still be there later.)

Yes because Biden is adding illegals into the system they didn't pay for will eliminate it.

He will revoke illegals from obtaining the SS
Biden is putting them on.

He has to redo everything he did do to save SS.

Because he did a lot to help our country to get going towards paying off our debts.

For one thing the Pipeline has to be finished when that is done - we will not only be self sufficient in having lower prices, but we will sell it offshore and gain the income to pay our debts.

He had everything set up and if he could have finished - we would well be on our way to increasing our income and paying the debt.
And having money for other things and more specifically SS and other programs.

FWIW we are borrowing to pay SS now, 10 trillion debt every 10 days.

He put his agenda out there.

The worst optics were after the debate when 'Dr' Jill Biden congratulated her husband in the manner of a Kindergarten teacher praising one of her pupils.
Incredibly cringe worthy.

Yep I saw that.
I was like... wha...?

I also heard Jill is refusing that he step down.

I keep finding myself in total disbelief that these are our 2 choices come November. I am what is called a "double hater." And I don't see a viable third party candidate at least one that has a chance of winning.
We had good primary choices on the Republican side but the voters rejected them, and Joe should not have run for a second term, but here we are so I guess we have to go with it.

I understand what you mean; but at this point I don't think it is going to change. We can only look forward to the next election when we will be given more choice. For this election, we need to look beyond the lies told by both sides to which candidate will lead the country the best for the next 4 years.

Our choices today seem to be between a good man whose policies are bad and may have cognitive decline and a lunatic whose policies I more agree with but is a convicted felon and is endorsing declaring martial law and having televised military tribunals for his political enemies and tried to overturn a free and fair election. Great.

At this point it looks like Biden keeps on going as president and candidate and loses to Trump. Most Democrats stick with Biden but a few go third party. Most Republicans stick with Trump, though if polls say Biden support falls more some Republicans might also vote third party. Trump wins. Biden is sunk. Third party votes are not spectacular.

I wish it could be different. I wish partisans could abandon their candidates in droves. I wish there was a groundswell for the American Solidarity Party and that they could edge out the two geriatric parties. But that won't happen. The Dems hate the Republicans too much to 'waste' their votes on a decent candidate. Same for the Republicans who hate the Dems too much to 'waste' their votes on a decent candidate. So they vote their party, more or less all of them. Biden will get more than 40% of the vote, probably at least 45%.

Why do I think Biden goes on? Jill Biden. She ain't no quitter, having basically engaged in elder abuse by keeping Joe in there well past his freshness date. Then if they were going to retire Joe they would have done it by now. July 4 is almost done. I can't see them waiting this long to announce. I don't think it's happening. The narrative will be that Donald Trump is in cognitive decline and Joe just had a bad day. No problem. These aren't the droids you're looking for.

But who would replace him? Mrs. Obama? Probably their best option. Nobody is going to persuade her to take the job if she doesn't want it. No smart Democrat facing now almost certain defeat this year wants to run. Not Whittmer or Newsome or anyone else who are positioning themselves for 2028. And nobody at all seems to want Kamala, not as a candidate, and certainly not as an interim president. She would want it, but I can't see any but the most extreme of the wokist DEI Democrats also on board. So replacing Joe is a problem. Maybe it has to be Kamala, who then loses in November. But that gives her a leg up for 2028 that the wokist DEI Democrats will make sure can be exploited.

Needless to say the Democrats are in disarray. The lie of Biden being 'with it' has now been exposed. The knives are out. They might lose the House AND the Senate in the 2024 election. There will be some small spill into third parties.

I am so not impressed with Trump. Yes, he did appoint some excellent Supreme Court justices. But his abortion position is awful. He's still a vile man. Not someone I want to waste a vote on.

I am going to stick with the American Solidarity Party (ASP) but their failure to launch has been a disappointment. 2024 should have been an excellent year to launch. They don't seem to have any 'fire in the belly' to launch nationally or locally. Maybe they just need you and I to take the lead and make it a thing for 2026 local elections and 2028 nationally.

You lost me completely when you described Biden as a good man. Good grief! The man is a habitual liar who has raised a son who is a total degenerate, and proudly claims he perverted the course of justice in Ukraine by threatening to stop the supply of US aid if they didn't sack the man who was investigating his son. What kind of a rock are you living under?

Trumps judicial appointments are the one good thing he did during his presidency IMO. I agree with most everything you said.

Only in countries of communism do opponents set up judicial opposition.

  1. 1. The statutes of limitations had expired by many years, and even if they came back up again in 2016, they still expired. If 5 years pass, the statutes of limitations apply.
  2. 2. Stormy lost the last time. So would it be double indemnity?
  3. 3. It is a misdemeanor to write 'legal fees' on your checks note line and NOT a felony.
  4. 4. Imagine if we mistakenly write what we 'remember' a check for but a judge and jury says it is not precise or wrong??
  5. 5. The judge led the jury to convict by his words. 'You can find something and you have plenty to convict him...' IS not allowed to be said.
  6. 6. He was NOT allowed to call on any witnesses. Zero.
  7. 7. The AG was not in that position actively at the time.
  8. 8. The daughter of the judge stood to make a fortune of his conviction.
  9. 9 The judge is a campaign democrat funding entity. Not impartial.

I mean ^^^^ why is none of this taken for illegal use of a the judicial system??

The judge also brought up the 'loan Trump paid off on his property stating it's value was not as high as the loan, which in fact according to Fl real estate, it is in fact worth billions and not 10 million.
Over reaching the values of another state.
The loan was paid off, but he alleged the loan was over valued.
But since that couldn't fly, he kept digging.

There was absolutely no definite 'crime' so they kept digging.

You are not judicially allowed to try a case on someone without a definite crime in place.

But that was entire debacle point, it was not that they had anything definitive on Trump, but they were digging for something during the trial, like a trial in the medieval times.

Lynch him for something, everyone gather around and tell us something we can get on him.
