In fact with the FBI director candidate promising to use the Bureau for explicit political vengeance, I think Biden would be wise to test the limits of pardon power to the absolute maximum.
Could you post your source for this?

As a result, I want every single J6r pardoned - even those who engaged in acts of violence.

Day 1 of Trump's presidency.

I also want a full pardon for every single non-violent felon in America who served their time, both state and federal level. Same day as the J6 pardons.

I want a full restoration of rights for every non violent criminal in America who served their time in the form of a full pardon so they can have their lives back, and a chance for a future.

This is only fair.
I take it this is tongue-in-cheek only (or so I hope).
Anyone who committed violence or destruction of property during Jan6 should be prosecuted but their sentence should be commensurate with the act. Anyone who simply entered the Capital, especially since security personnel were holding open some of the doors, should not be molested. Unless they want to pursue all the BLM'ers and other rioters who attempted to burn down Minneapolis and other towns and cities. Fair is fair.....

Also me, for the record.

Though I will say complaining about nepotism from the right is deeply amusing. One finger pointed leaving three pointing back and all that.

It's already exceeded that. Everyone who committed violence that day has been in jail since that day, for some of the time have even been deprived of their rights.

It's time to end the political persecution of these people. It was a protest that got out of hand and not one BLM rioter has been treated the way these people have.

None of my posts are tongue in cheek. I'm quite serious on all points.

I'm over the nonsense and we are going to start having equal treatment under the law whether people like it or not.

If people want to persecute the right and treat their crack head children like retards then everyone in the country should get the same - regardless of what side of the aisle they are on

We are either persecuting everyone or we are letting people walk. It appears walk has been chosen.

P S. The only reason for going back to 2014 on Hunter is if he committed crimes that exceed any normal statute of limitations.

We all knew they were influence peddling but I never imagined it extended to include murder until now.

Trump sycophants.

Really? You don't even know what your own people are saying? Maybe you should look that up.

I'm not defending Biden. I just don't care about it for the same reasons you guys don't care about anything Trump and his lackeys and minions have done in spades that you're criticizing others for and then crying that it's off topic when it's brought up. Why should I?

These rants are unhelpful in any kind of rational discussion. I wouldn't normally respond to a post like this, but I have to let you know you're in the wrong with what you're doing.

@civilwarbuff - I have changed all my positions with this pardon.

Hunter was the thing they held up through all the fake trials and the Nazi round up's of everyone who dared go to the rally on J6... He was that thing they kept telling the world was the sign our legal system is still fair just.

Well we have that answer loud and clear now don't we? Straight up from Biden himself - this was never fair.

I want pardons for not just one, but for millions of American citizens who have done far less and paid a far heavier price.

Why? Because there's no justice here and there's never been. What they did to Trump in the full light of day they will do, and worse, to the least of us where there is no light to shine.

This is not the Soviet Union contrary to popular belief and I won't see Americans who are promised equal protection under the law to be denied it because of their political persuasions .. which is what's happening.

A rebuke I’m confident will be received with the solemnity and seriousness it deserves.

Yes, the evil and hypocrisy we see can be pretty discouraging. Just remember who you are.

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.
What can man do to me?
The Lord is on my side as my helper;
I shall look in triumph on those who hate me.

It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in man.
It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in princes.

You make a claim without supporting evidence. That's a good reason to question your statement.
What claim did I make that I didn’t support?

One interesting facet of this (apologies if it's already been brought up)

Why was it an 11-year "blanket immunity" sort of deal (going back to the beginning of 2014) instead of a pardon for the specific charges that were brought up against him?

The crimes in question were from 2016 (gun charge) and 2017-2019 for the tax charges, were they not?

Why does there need to be a "blanket immunity window" going back to 2014, specifically?

Seems like an oddly specific cutoff point to the casual onlooker.

If he was worried about the incoming administration digging up random stuff from Hunter's past and coming after him post-hoc, why not set the cutoff at the year Hunter was born to cover all bases if that was actually the concern?

The fact that they picked Jan 1st, 2014 (when the crimes they were charging him with didn't start until 2.5 years later) seems conspicuously specific.

Did Hunter have some major life-changing event, career change, involvement with a new group of people, etc... that started in 2014? Or were there perhaps other run-ins with the law he had in 2014 that have been well concealed?

A series of spreadsheets and emails included within the over 700 pages of whistleblower documents released by Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (MO-08) last month show an alarming pattern of meetings between senior White House staff, Hunter Biden business associate Devon Archer, and Hunter Biden in the same year then-Vice President Biden made an unprecedented three official visits to Ukraine.

At the same time those meetings occurred, Archer was negotiating Hunter Biden’s position on the board of directors of Burisma – a Ukrainian company – whose executives implied his value to their company was his influence with his father. They even acknowledged the sensitive optics surrounding his appointment to the company’s board, and discussed the need to make his appointment public only after then-Vice President Biden’s first official trip to Ukraine concluded.

April 15, 2014: Devon Archer meets with Vice President Biden at the White House.

April 16, 2014: Hunter Biden has coffee with Greg Schultz, Senior Advisor to Vice President Biden. Later that same day, Hunter Biden meets with Devon Archer at the White House.

April 17, 2014: A Burisma executive emails Devon Archer stating, as it relates to Hunter Biden, “I do believe we have to reach a reasonable balance here” and acknowledged they were relying on Hunter Biden’s influence with his father and would take into account how to use “the political weight of our Directors… carefully and strategically.

Does this answer your question?
lol, I already knew the answer to the question.
(you kind of played spoiler there lol, I was wondering what other responses would be)

Yes, that was the year he started with Burisma (as a high-level executive in an industry for which he had no experience, in a country for which he didn't speak the language... seems like a perfectly qualified candidate for the position, right??)

Honestly, I haven't seen anything that directly implicates Joe in all of those dealings. The emails and personal communications they recovered from the laptop seems to suggest a pattern of them trying to leverage Hunter to gain access to his dad's influence, and then not getting what they wanted (and it wasn't for lack of looking...Comer seemed to go down every rabbit hole possible)

My personal theory on this (and again, I have no hard evidence, this is just pure speculation)

Joe knows his son...knows his propensity for getting into shenanigans, etc...

Who among us knows a crack addict who gets 7-figure job offers in foreign lands? Oh wait...none of us??...yeah that's what I thought.

Joe's probably assuming that his son got into some "less than legal stuff" during his time with Burisma (even making promises to use his dad's leverage can be a chargeable crime for Hunter depending on what he was telling people over there, even if his dad had no insight or intention to participate)
"What?!?, they're paying my drug addicted son how much to sit on the board of a foreign energy company? There must have been some shady stuff going on"

...and set the immunity cutoff date accordingly based on his own suspicions.

I've also thought it's quite possible that Hunter, himself, told his dad (after his dad previously said he wouldn't give a pardon). "Ummm...hey pops, not sure if it matters, but when I was in Ukraine back in 2015, I did XYZ...just thought you should know"

Would anyone be terribly shocked if we found out that Hunter did something like sleep with an underage prostitute while he was over there (which would draw federal charges here)? (again, this is hypothetical folks, not saying there any evidence of this happening, just saying that Ukraine is a country that's known for that sort of thing, and he was over there as a well-connected person, rubbing shoulders with big-shots, and we know he had a propensity for soliciting certain "services" as the photos on his laptop would indicate)

Let's be honest here... "Hey dad, one of the hookers I had in my hotel room back in 2015 ended up being 15, I didn't know...I swear" isn't out of the realm of possibility here...just saying.

It's not any crazier than the "Trump Russian hooker pee tape" stuff that half of the population was willing to entertain being possible...

I don't care. I can't express what I really think about all this on these forums so this is what you get. Enjoy it. I am.

"Sycophancy is insincere flattery given to gain advantage from a superior."

I don't know of anyone on this thread who's met Trump, so I'm not sure what would be gained from someone who doesn't even know they exist.
Like they aren't fantasizing about that. And, also, I can't use the accurate adjectives to describe Trump supporters on this forum. It's against the rules...
Own people? No idea what you're talking about.
Yes. Google it. It's not difficult.
Deflection can be a form of defense. If you truly didn't care you would have never commented in this thread or continued to reply to comments with deflections to other people.
I care enough about the derailing of the country to comment on this nonsense.
Because derailing threads is against forum rules.
Well by all means keep responding.
This thread isn't about Trump.

Please stay on topic.
I commented on the topic. I don't care that he did it or that he went back on his word or that some people think it's unethical or any of that. As I stated it just doesn't matter. More power to him. I hope he continues to use the powers granted by his office and those established by SCOTUS this last year.
