The question is: Where did all the unique vegetation come from that we see on this island?
Why do we not see this anywhere in the world?
Some people believe Evolution took place after Noah and the Ark.

Socotra Island, located in the Indian Ocean near the Gulf of Aden, boasts a remarkable array of unique vegetation. Here are some fascinating facts about Socotra’s plant life:

  1. Dragon’s Blood Tree (Dracaena cinnabari): One of the most striking plants on Socotra, the dragon’s blood tree has an umbrella-like shape and produces red sap. Ancient civilizations valued this sap for its medicinal and dye properties, and today it’s used as paint and varnish.
  2. Endemic Aloes: Socotra is home to various endemic aloes, which were historically used for medicinal and cosmetic purposes.
  3. Other Notable Plants:
    • Giant Succulent Tree (Dorstenia gigas): A massive succulent found exclusively on Socotra.
    • Cucumber Tree (Dendrosicyos socotranus): A unique tree with a distinctive appearance.
    • Socotran Pomegranate (Punica protopunica): A rare pomegranate species specific to the island.
    • Frankincense Trees (Boswellia socotrana): Socotra is also associated with frankincense production.
  4. Endemism: Over a third of Socotra’s 825 plant species are endemic, meaning they occur nowhere else in the world. The island’s isolation allowed for distinct evolutionary processes.
Despite its unique flora, Socotra is inhabited by more than 50,000 people who engage in fishing, animal husbandry, and date cultivation

Regardless of whether this island relates to Noah's flood or not, the plant life looks beautiful. Goes to show how God designed DNA in such a way to grow beautiful plants such as these. :) We should study these plants more, and sequence the DNA of the life on Socotra, cos of Psalm 111:2.

My favorite Psalm is below.

Psalm 111:2 (ESV): "Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them."

This verse expresses admiration for God's great creation and works. Scientists engage with these works through their research and discovery. Faith and science complement each other, as both can acknowledge God's presence and power in the natural world. Scientific inquiry can be driven by a belief in a deeper meaning to the universe and a recognition of God's involvement. The verse affirms that studying God's works deepens our appreciation for and connection to the LORD.

The Bible says the most beautiful trees are the Cedar trees in Lebanon. Even more beautiful than Eden. In the area where the ski resorts are. This is the wood Solomon used for his palace and for the temple. Jesus tells us about all the life supported by one tree. I even have a book on that.

Ezekiel 31:8 The cedars in the garden of God could not rival it, nor could the junipers equal its boughs, nor could the plane trees compare with its branches— no tree in the garden of God could match its beauty.

6All the birds of the air

nested in its branches,

and all the beasts of the field

gave birth beneath its boughs;

all the great nations

lived in its shade.

That is true. Lebanon is famous for trees, especially being a part of the arid Middle East. A very temperate climate over there. :)

“The Songs of Trees: Stories from Nature’s Great Connectors” by David George Haskell is a captivating exploration of the intricate relationships between trees and the world around them. In this book, Haskell repeatedly visits a dozen trees across different environments, revealing their connections with people, microbes, fungi, and other plants and animals. Whether in cities, forests, or areas impacted by environmental change, these trees serve as nature’s great connectors, weaving together the fabric of life.

Hey, thank you.
In the Parable of the Mustard Seed, Jesus compares the Kingdom of Heaven to a mustard seed that grows into a large tree that provides shelter for birds:
  • Matthew 13:31–32
"The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches".
