There are movies everybody has seen. Things like the Wizard of Oz, Star Wars, the Lord of the Rings, Jaws, the Ten Commandments, the Avengers, the Terminator, Alien, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Rocky, The Magnificent Seven (the one with Yul Brynner), Dirty Harry, the Planet of the Apes (the one with Charleton Heston), the Dark Knight, Independence Day, Back to the Future, etc. What? You haven't seen some of those? What's wrong with you?? Those are legends! People are going to look at you funny if you say you haven't seen them.

Well, we all have different tastes. Some movies can offend your sensibilities. Younger folks may have missed out on the older stuff. And sometimes we just never get around to seeing something, especially if it would cost money. Personally, I'm not much of a movie watcher, although looking back at things I'm surprised at how many classics I've seen. Citizen Kane? The Sound of Music? Gone with the Wind? Yeah, things happen.

Here are some of the big-name movies that I could just never get motivated to watch:

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
Pulp Fiction
Friday the 13th and its sequels
Psycho
The Shawshank Redemption
Twilight and its sequels
Casablanca
On the Waterfront
Rebel Without a Cause
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Grease

The Matrix. It seems a little gory for me. Gonna try Casablanca soon.

The Blob (1958).

Been meaning to watch this one. Don't care about any remakes. Neil Degrasse Tyson sold this movie on me.
Yeah, that turned out to be a science fiction classic, just because of how alien the blob was. The sequel and remake, not so much.

Titanic. Never seen it. Don't want to, mainly because for me it ranks right at the bottom of the ocean with other movies like, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Oh yeah, I haven't seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Thanks for reminding me.

Titanic had some impressive visuals at the end, but it was a fiction romance story set during the Titanic voyage. I only saw it to keep somebody else company. Give me a story about the historical people. That's why I enjoyed Midway (2019 version) but didn't like Pearl Harbor.

I'm not real big on fictional romances either. The closest I get to that sort of thing is found in the brief affections depicted between Han Solo and Princess Leia in Star Wars.

Although I tend to prefer fictional stories for movies, I'll have to check out the remake of Midway sometime since I enjoy movies on World War 2 topics.

I haven't seen the last 3 Dirty Harry movies: The Enforcer, Sudden Impact, and The Dead Pool. I have the DVDs, but I haven't gotten around to watching them.

I'll blame it on Netflix. I kinda got hooked on their true crime documentaries, and the Stranger Things series.

I don't know. I'm no longer a movie fan. I couldn't tell you what's popular and what's not. Haven't been to a theater or bought a DVD in years. The last one I watched in entirety was so butchered by commercials that it wasn't worth it. Turned to my wife and told her I wasn't making that mistake again.

Almost all the horror classics really
Come to think of it, I don't remember watching the old Dracula movie with Bela Lugosi. I might have seen it as a child, but I can only think of a couple vague images.

This is not plausible.
Even as a kid I thought the original was kind of dumb and boring. Just old fashioned good guys vs. bad guys except with "light sabers". (Why would you use a light saber when a regular sword has zero chance of failing electrically?) Plus, though I'm much more open minded now, as a teenage boy in '77 I found a gay robot a bit off-putting.
They weren't the Star Wars he was looking for?
I don't get the joke. :(

Light sabers are better because
1. they cut through everything.
2. You can deflect blaster fire with them
3. never need to sharpen them.

For the joke this might help:
