Love your enemies, including Satan?

I don't think so, Matthew 5:

44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
Jesus told us to love our enemies and pray for them because they might repent. Satan cannot repent. There is no point in praying for Satan or loving the devil.

Luke 8:

12 Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.
Satan does not want people to be saved. I would not love someone like that.

Jehu the seer spoke to King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 19:

2b “Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the LORD? Because of this, the wrath of the LORD is on you."
Should we love Satan with Christian love?

I don't think so.

Should you feel pity for Satan?

I don't. I don't think Jesus did either. Satan tempted Jesus and is tempting you and me every day. Jesus, our advocate, replaced Satan, our accuser, in the Divine Council. Most of the time, I have no feelings toward Satan. I don't think it is healthy to feel pity for Satan frequently.

Attempt at thought provoking ideas.... Does "Love" have to support the plans of evil? The answer is no.

4 Love is patient,
Has God been patient with Satan?

love is kind.
Has God been "kind" to Satan? I will actually say... yes. Satan is still allowed to carry out his rebellion and cause trouble. That's Satan's idea of a good time.

It does not envy,
I mean, no need to place this towards God, but Isaiah 14:14 says much about Satan on this matter.

it does not boast, it is not proud.
Again, this is not God... as in obviously God does not Boast or act Proudful. Picture the old SNL church lady saying; Could it be... Satan!?! As in, boast and proud are Satan's Jams, played on his I-phone on full blast, on repeat.

5 It does not dishonor others,
God wasn't the one that handed Himself over to the cross. By the very Love that constrained God, He allowed Satan to hand Him over, via the possesed Judas.

it is not self-seeking,
Did God smite Satan for challenging His very Character and Authority?

it is not easily angered,
Did God smite Satan for bringing so much misery to the very Creation God desired the best for?

it keeps no record of wrongs.
There might be a sign up in Heaven that says X amount of days since Satan stopped doing Satanic things... which has consistently remained at 0

6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
Even if God has Love for Satan, because Satan is an Angelic being that He Lovingly created... This one is a most certain God isn't delighting in Satan...

7 It always protects,
Has God wiped Satan out yet?

always trusts,
Here's another sign in Heaven that reads... Days since Satan acted Trustworthy... it stays at 0

always hopes,
Does God Hope that Satan will change His ways? Unfortunately, Satan has racked up too high a kill count for God to do so. When God declared Satan... "Judged"... it was a bad sign for Satan

always perseveres.
Has God smited the Evil one, yet?

8 Love never fails.
When God finally declares that He's had enough of Satan and Satan's followers, will He have failed? This is a hard NO. God checked all boxes of Love possible towards Satan. When Satan is physically dealt with by God, it will be clear that God has given Satan more Mercy and Love than anyone could expect, then some more and some more and a bit more after that. On that day, I don't think anyone will be playing the Rolling Stones; "Sympathy for the Devil".
Is this reply a theological master piece? No. Is there a bit of truthful humor in it? Let the reader decide. Was I trying to be entertaining and thought provoking? guilty

To love your enemies means to go good to those who wrong you in your personal life. It's also found in the old testament:

Exo 23:5 “If you see the donkey of one who hates you lying under its burden, and you would refrain from helping it, you shall surely help him with it.

If you read the sermon on the mount it generally means to not hold grudges against anyone and not to be a judgmental busybody. It does not mean that you should help an evil person accomplish his evil. It doesn't mean that during the invasion of Normandy if Adolf Hitler had a flat tire on his way to work Eisenhower should have paused the invasion to help him change it.

If you'd really like to see an illustration of what not to do, I hear there's a whole new season of The Kardashians coming up. If you watch them you'll see that they are prideful, lustful, gossipy, they love their friends and hate their enemies. Everything we are told not to do.

Right. It's talking about loving our human enemies, not Satan and his angels/demons.

Here we have David, a man after God's Heart supporting your posit: Psalm 139:21-22 Do I not hate those who hate you, O Lord? And do I not loathe those who rise up against you? I hate them with complete hatred; I count them my enemies.

Yet, we have this: James 2:12 So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty (8 If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right. 9 But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers.)

Hmmmmmmmmmm... tricky, very tricky

I'll stop putzing around.

I pray that Hate is removed from my heart, towards anyone and anything, each day of my life. I place the measure of judgment in the hands of God alone and fully embrace....

Deuteronomy 32:35
Is this not laid up in store with Me,
Sealed up among My treasures?
35 Vengeance is Mine, and recompense;

Does this mean that Love is incapable of self defense, defense of the weak and one's family, in the face of Evil? I'm not a Pacifist.

This is a heavy one. I'll close with this thought.... once, a man broke into an elderly woman's home and just when he thought he was about to overtake the old woman to steal all of her belongings... she discharged a rather large pistol into his left shoulder.

As the man laid there, she looked at him, dialed 911, hung up... barrel leveled at the guy the entire time... then said; "Well, as we wait for the Police, let's talk about Jesus."
