But why do biological males need to use the woman's restroom instead of the men's restroom?
As I explained, because they don't think of themselves as "biological males."

-- A2SG, whether or not you agree with this isn't their problem......

You forgot to include documentation for that "original campaign."

Your view isn't exactly an objective one, my friend. Your bias is clearly demonstrated.

Besides, I don't see how using a bathroom requires "boatloads of concessions" anyway. If they're not doing anything wrong, then there's no problem at all.

-- A2SG, keep in mind, absolutely no one is advocating for trans people to be allowed to show off their genitalia at random......
There's no practical reason for biological males using women's facilities.

Other than the obvious very practical reason anyone needs to use the bathroom.

Otherwise, people who consider their gender to be female generally prefer the women's room to the men's. And, if they aren't doing anything wrong, there's no real problem with that.

-- A2SG, it really isn't about the genitalia, believe it or not.....

Women prefer not having biological males in women's only spaces.

And I prefer people mind their own business, and not concern themselves with other people's genitalia when said genitalia stays where it belongs.

But we can't always get what we want, can we?

You don't need to discuss this if you want to mind your own business.

No thanks. I'm not posting from the bathroom, so we're good.

-- A2SG, besides, I reserve bathroom time for Word Bingo on my phone, not this site.....

That's a want, not a need.
For what it’s worth, I think that your argument is sound.
The majority need not make any accommodations to minority populations, and if the majority would like to crush them (societally) they would be well within their rights to do so, if they wanted to be the kind of people who would do that.

There’s maybe 12,000,000 transfolk, and I’ll do what I can to help make their lives a bit less miserable.

Really? You now know what game I like to play on my phone...and that's too much information?

-- A2SG, or are you somehow surprised that I occasionally have to go to the bathroom?

By making the lives of women miserable? Women's rights, needs and wants are being infringed upon regarding this.

That's the huge fly in the ointment regarding the usual bleeding heart melodramatic oppressed minority virtue signaling routine regarding this. Women and girls are being forced to deal with something they (and their spouses and parents) find to be threatening, creepy, uncomfortable and invasive.

So it's a matter of whose comfort comes first: Women and girls (along with their spouses and parents), or some guys who live in a fantasy world.

The point is that in Rome the “toilets” were open air benches with holes that everybody used.
Showering at a gym is not mandatory. Therefore the idea that women are being subjected to showering together is moot, since it's purely elective.

As for appealing to ancient times, why not campaign to get rid of indoor plumbing while you're at it? I seriously doubt most anyone would opt for using an ancient Roman public toilet system rather than a modern one. Including the ancient Romans if they had a choice.

Wait...wait....are we talking about being attacked here, or just feeling uncomfortable?

Because...well, there doesn't seem to be much risk of being attacked in a public bathroom by a trans person (at least, you've presented no evidence for such), and we've offered suggestions to deal with that, which you don't seem to consider worth spending money on.

So, is the real issue just discomfort? Are you contending that women simply don't like "those people" in their bathrooms?

Maybe they should also be prevented from sitting at the same lunch counters, too. Or drink from the same water fountain.

Is that your position here?

-- A2SG, just trying to get to the root of the issue.....

What they think of themselves is not our problem
True enough.

So why make it one?

If a trans person uses a bathroom, does nothing wrong or inappropriate, then leaves...why is that even an issue?

-- A2SG, in many cases, no one would ever know the difference anyway....
