  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What about people of other cultures, ancient Chinese, ancient Australians, Islamic, Hindu, etc?

No one will be condemned to hell by God because of something that they did not know.

Deuteronomy 4:

19 Beware lest you raise your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, you be drawn away and bow down to them and serve them, things that the LORD your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven.
These people knew the sun, moon, and stars but not the LORD. God would not send them all to hell wholesale.

Can people who don't have the spiritual knowledge of Jesus be saved?

Yes, Matthew 5:

3“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
You will be judged based on what you have heard and seen, not on what you do not know, John 9:

41 Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no guilt; but now that you say, ‘We see,’ your guilt remains.
There are people who are fooled by Satan, but everyone, every culture everywhere in space and time knows the golden rule, Matthew 7:

12 in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
Paul elaborated on the heart and conscience of Gentiles in Romans 2:

14 For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them 16 on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus.
Jesus will judge their works according to their own conscience, Revelation 2:

23b I am the One who searches minds and hearts, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.
The judgment on you depends on how much you know and see. This principle can be applied to the souls of babies and children and people who have mental health issues. You are only responsible for what your conscience can teach you, Matthew 19:

14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Ultimately, God has the final say, Romans 9:

15 For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”

I don't know.

Are you saying that they will all go to hell?

To live with God on the new earth in eternity requires a person to have The Life of God. So where else can these people go but to the lake of fire. That is the only other option given in The Bible, one of two places.

But the question arises, that these people will not be just given out right The Life of God. There has to be some way for them to examine the evidence that The Life of God is by belief in Jesus. And for them to examine this evidence and either come to the belief this is true or come to belief that they do not believe this is true.

Everyone who has never heard of Jesus and is older than the age of accountability will go to hell.

True?

-
Since The Bible does not address this (lack of knowledge accountability) directly, only speculation can be given.

Exactly right. Finally, we are communicating somewhat.

Let proposition P1 = Everyone who has never heard of Jesus and is older than the age of accountability will go to hell.

Between 0 and 10, how much weight do you put on the above proposition? The stronger your belief in a proposition, the higher the weight.

The Christian has assurance of salvation ( Hebrews 10:22-24) whereas the non Christian does not. The non Christian may still be saved but only God knows who in particular, we do not ( Ezekiel 18:4-9). At the very least, all Christians should pray for all people to be saved ( 1 Timothy 2:1-6).

I had initially put Hebrews chapter 11 above as scripture link, I meant chapter 10 as corrected.

NO! You are spreading false teachings. You pull verses out of context and interpret them according to your own false interpretation as founders of false religions do. I recognize your desire to have all people saved. I have news for you. God is just. He is also sovereign. He is the only Savior.

tonychanyt is not the Holy Ghost Who teaches truth. Each person on earth will receive what God Who is Holy and Perfect and Just has determined.

Dead people aren't given opportunities to repent.

2 Corinthians 6:2
(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, And in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Those who sought God, could have found Him. Don't assume that God is not Triune, not omniscient, not omnipresent, not knowing each person's heart.

Jeremiah 29:13
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Eternal Life is only received by Belief / faith in Jesus, so how do these people receive The Life of God.
By wanting to know God instead of the darkness without Him. Ephesians 1 and 2. God is in charge and no plan of His can be thwarted.

The wages of sin is death. That should cover it.

It would, but Jesus took away the sin of the world for everyone, so sin is not an issue. The issue is The Life of God and who has it and who does not.

Ephesians 1 and 2 does not address people who have never heard of Jesus and their eternal future.
Do you think God had no plan when he put people on earth? Some people think He is helpless or not smart enough to communicate with those He intends to save.

Acts 17
24“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. 26From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. 27God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. 28‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’

I'm not able to think of Him as helpless.

Job 42:2
“I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted."

Ephesians 1 and 2 tell us that God is very involved in human lives.

He took care of Jonah's resistance and Saul/Paul's rebellion. Read your Bible and see all the things He has done.

Jeremiah 29:13
You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

This life is when we seek God. We don't have to write more opportunities or twist His words to say that this life isn't fair and that we have to find another way for salvation to occur. The Father brings us to Christ. The Father isn't napping on His throne. God can tell those who have passed on with no desire to stop sinning that many will be or have been saved because of His Son's death.

Unless you are a universalist, you know God didn't save everyone in the world. You can't possibly think that sinners don't want to sin or that all people have St. Paul's experience.

Are you a person who thinks Christian aren't new creatures? He is saving Christians and conforming us to the image of Christ. God didn't eliminate sin and He didn't say, "Go on sinning."

The only people that go to hell are those who deserve it. Why are you assuming people are going there because God didn't know how to save them or didn't have power to save them? That's quite a leap and shows your willingness to judge the Almighty Holy God of the Bible. We are not omniscient but God is.

Do you really understand, what has transpired. Jesus came down from heaven became a human the God/Man. with His death and resurrection He, Jesus took away the sin of the world all sin has been paid for. From Adam and Eve's first sin to the last sin that will be committed by a human on earth. To all the sins unbelievers (being that they remain a sinner for all eternity) may commit in the lake of fire.

Sin is not the issue that sends a person to the lake of fire for all of eternity. The unbelievers go to the lake of fire because they never believed in Jesus for God's free gift of Eternal Life (The Life of God). All of the unbelievers sins have been forgiven taken away at the cross, it is finished.
