I can't feel the Holy Spirit's presence or hear his voice... am I on my way to hell?

Can someone help me shed some light on this issue? I have been depressed and sinning for 7 years now, and nothing is helping... I feel as if I am dead on the inside, I have committed innumerable mortal sins. I go to confession every week, but it's not helping. I feel as if God has abandoned me due to my sins. My (material & spiritual) life is a joke. I pray almost every day without any results. Even though I pray prayers of repentance, I never experience the conviction of the Holy Spirit anymore like I did before. I feel as if the Holy Spirit has left me without any chance of him returning. Help me please, what am I supposed to do?

Your worrying is a sign that He is still with you, brother. If it didn't matter anymore, that might be a different story.

Do not rely on your feelings, for they are fleeting. Remind yourself of the blessed Gospel of your salvation.

What can I do to restore intimacy with him and/or to hear his voice again? My life is a giant mess, and I feel like I need his guidance for the issues to be resolved, otherwise I will inevitably make matters worse than they already are.

Remind yourself of the Gospel of your salvation, and pray Psalm 51:12.

I did the same for about as long and he forgave me, you need to just Humble yourself before the LORD. Be sincere and he'll forgive you.

Welcome to CF. Repentance is changing your mind. Only the Holy Spirit can lead you to true repentance. It seems, by your post, that you are having regrets however, your doubt is quenching His work in you. Go back to your first love, Jesus Christ of Nazareth and ask Him to fill you daily so that hypocrisy be lifted. Blessings.

You have vexed the Holy Spirit like the Word of God talks about.

The answer is quite simple, but you may find it hard to accept and even harder to do. You stated that you have been sending for 7 years to me that sounds like deliberate intentional sin.

The answer, stop sinning.

Sinning leads to depression, depression can, if it's allowed to get out of control, lead to sinning. You have to stop the vicious cycle. You stop that by choice.

I've tried to stop for a limited amount of time... but I do not receive any consolation.

Simple answer to your worries. Have you trusted in The Messiah for God's free gift of Eternal Life. If you have then, no you are not going to hell. You have crossed over from death to life, because God has given, as the only condition to receive the free gift of Eternal Life. Is faith in Jesus, this is about believing that He (Jesus) is The Messiah the only begotten Son of God, you believe this then trust in Jesus for Eternal Life salvation.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

We do not make our obedience to God conditional. To go in with an attitude of I will do this or not do this if I get what I'm after is not real repentance.

Sure. Jesus Christ of Nazareth gave us a Helper, His Holy Spirit. He dwells in the beliver by making His Home in us through His Holy Spirit. He never leaves us, we quench him by our sinful actions. Our sinful actions are due to the evils of the flesh. His Holy Spirit, the Helper, reveals our hypocrisy. We can not love Him and sin at the same time. Blessings.

A you were told in post 2, don't rely on fickle feelings.

Get back into the habit of daily bible readings and prayer, get involved in a church that peactises what it preaches.

As you've been told, that you are concerned is a good sign. Put your trust in Jesus and as 1 john1:9 says if we admit our sins, God is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrightousness.

Because you need to FAST and Humble yourself before him,
I lived nearly as long as that and was in an Adulterous Relationship the entire time,
maybe a handful of times did i pray and i don't ever recall repenting.
He called me back and all i knew is that i needed to cry , so i begged him,
For days i begged him,
everytime he would bring me to prayer, ((PRAISE BE UNTO THE MOST HIGH GOD!))
I begged him to let me cry over what i had done to him,
He Put His GODLY Sorrow Upon me,
I Fasted and wept before him, and he Forgave me.
hallelujah!!

From what you have stated, it seems you are abandoning God. John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one come to the Father except through me." Receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior and believe he is the Son of God. Then, get to know God. Build a relationship with Him. You are going in the opposite direction. Turn around. Blessings!

@headphones777 - First off I will tell you that I will pray for you. I will pray that God slices through the fog and gives you a clear direction to peace.

I don't know what your circumstances are. We all hit hard times. We all hit dry times. In 30 plus years of being a believer; on occasion, I still say to myself: "God what was I thinking?" Thus I want you to understand that what you are experiencing is not outside of the realm of human struggles.

Although with little other input: I'm not sure what to say that might be helpful? If you want to message me though and discuss what you're struggling with; I may or may not be able to help? But I will pray for you.

I will pray for you. But whoever said to stop sinning is wrong. We do not know of your sins and we are not judges of you. Sometimes getting rid of sins is extremely difficult and you maybe perhaps need to talk to your pastor or a Christian counselor about this.
