Okay, I stopped here.

Have a nice day and all.

No you didn't, you read all I wrote, and until we as Christians deal with this, y'all will keep pushing more people out of the faith over something that ultimately is not a game changer.

Yes, I did.

I promise you I did.

Okay, I know you're a trustworthy person. You always stick to your guns, and I recognize that. My apologies. Do you realize how this issue over evolution is harmful to others? If you long for people to embrace the faith, why put up unnecessary obstacles?

Are you talking about my challenge threads?

No, your challenge threads are great; every idea is worthy of discussion, even the worst ones. My target of critique is the assumption that evolution and Christianity are somehow incompatible. The atheist has no greater friend than the Christian fundamentalist. Your "sigh" indicated that you might be just that sort, but if I'm off target, I'll relent. Still, Christians who pit the deliverances of science against the faith are shooting themselves in the foot. God's beautiful and orderly creation is ours to explore, marvel at, and use for the good of humanity. Pitting science against the faith helps no one, but perhaps the fundamentalists who profit off of assumed ignorance.

I was sighing at Post 10, not your post.

Again, my apologies. Look, I'm wrong all the time so admitting my faults is not an issue. Will you respond to my critique? Do you see the same problem I do?

For those of you who know your history, please put the following list in chronological order and give me the name of someone whom you think should be the poster child for each one.

Gap Theory Origen of Alexandria / Scofield Reference Bible
Day-Age Theory Saint Augustine / William Jennings Bryan
Theistic Evolution Thomas Aquinas / Leibniz

I'll agree that it has all the requirements of a theory.I think it would show good conversational maturity though to at least use the term as a jargon for the sake of Occam's razor.

Kinda like "sunrise" or "sunset" or "moonshine."

Employing the term "atheistic evolution" distinguishes it from "theistic evolution."
The theory of the evolution is science. I can’t figure out what “atheistic” and “theistic” has to do with it

There are a few differences between theistic evolution and the ToE. The main ones are the ToE is silent about anything that has to do with God or Adam and Eve. Josh Swamidass' book the Gemological Adam & Eve was an attempt to bridge the gap at least for A&E and his book did receive endorsements from several atheists and theologians.

Okay.

Atheistic evolution (a.k.a., evolution) is evolution as it is taught in secular science.

Theistic evolution (a.k.a., guided evolution) is evolution as it is taught in religious science.

The biggest difference is in the involvement of God in the processes.

Okay.Atheistic evolution (a.k.a., evolution) is evolution as it is taught in secular science.

Secular science is just science. Evolution is taught there. No one is teaching 'atheistic gravity' in science class.

Theistic evolution (a.k.a., guided evolution) is evolution as it is taught in religious science.

No such thing as religious science, at least in the sense you mean it. At best there are science classes at religious schools or with religious teachers, where they add some religious opinions to spice up the science.

True story: I had not seen the discussion in "The Origins of Young Earth Creationism" that motivated this thread.

And elbow macaroni is just macaroni.

Macaroni can be straight, but science can only be secular.
