From David Rouzer (NC Congressman)

  1. Innovation-Killing Price Controls: The bill would institute government price-setting of prescription drugs which will lead to significantly less private investment in new cures. This would also limit seniors’ access to medicines and drastically harm pharmaceutical innovation, resulting in fewer new drugs and fewer generic drugs being developed.
I find this particular one insulting. The idea that America does NOT need price controls on their medication is an affront to the bankrupt and dead diabetics who could not afford their medicaiton and PLEASE don't argue that it doesn't happen.

Stiffling innovation, my patootie!
Limit Seniors' access to medicines??? Oh heavens to all things good I would LOVE to hear the perverse predatory capitalist explanation of that.

.....

Seriously?

Yup. ..... Can't you see that numbers 8 and 10 in the OP are just brimming with anti-Christian evil?

(Sarcasm by the way.)

That tax income was made up by massive tarrifs. Also I would probably not try to copy Somalia to improve a nation.
I hear Somalia has lots of cheap real estate……life is cheap as well…

It's kind of telling when the list of countries with no income tax is made up of tiny island nations, the Middle East, and third world countries. The island nations get all the income they need from tourism, the Middle East gets theirs from oil, and the third world countries are third world countries for a reason.

With the move toward free trade, it is essentially impossible to run a nation off tariffs like we used to, as most countries would just stop doing business with you entirely. While the complete elimination is more recent, tariffs were greatly reduced long ago, and replaced with income taxes. The plus side of this is that many imports that were out of reach prior became affordable.

Funny who wants to take credit for the destruction of our country.

The House passed the bill on November 19, 2021, in a 220-213 vote. One Democrat and 212 Republicans voted against the bill, and 220 Democrats voted in favor of the bill.
