The context is whether these things are "systemic "
and as such the fault of the oppressors.

I still have not heard of a systemic disadvantage for anyone in the USA.

In Hk there is a systemic disadvantage for anyone
not a citizen here, in a legal dispute with a citizen.

In the USA the only systemic / racial matters I
am aware of operate to the advantage of minorities.
Obviously a systemically racist country would not elect a black president or have the most popular TV personality be a minority. Critical Race Theory is a spinoff of the Marxist critical theory. Marxists promote class warfare, and critical race theory promotes racism. In our country's history there certainly has been entrenched racism among Democrats. They were the party of the Confederacy, and the Confederacy practiced slavery. It was a Democrat, President Franklin Roosevelt, who imprisoned American citizens of Japanese descent. Decades ago Joe Biden stood with Robert Byrd, a leader in the KKK, to try and keep blacks segregated from whites in school. Racial problems greatly improved, but once Biden took over individuals on the hard left moved quickly to try and indoctrinate children in schools with hatred and racism. Individuals have also pushed hard on transgender issues. Recently a girl was sexually assaulted by a guy wearing a skirt, and many on the left supported the guy, who also had assaulted yet another girl. The poor father of the girl was treated like dirt by the school board and even arrested. Things in our country are quickly coming to a head, I don't think people are going to put up with Marxism much longer.

Welcome to Walmart, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Walmart CRT Training Encourages Employees To Accept "White Isn't Fair"

Walmart has given more than 1,000 employees critical training on race theory which teaches that the United States is a “white supremacist system” and that white interns are guilty of “white supremacist thinking” and “Internalized racial superiority,” according to a new report.

Classy. I remember thinking something was missing last time I was in Walmart. Turns out it was racial bigotry.

The program suggests that whites are guilty of “white privilege” and “internalized racial superiority”, the belief that “his comforts, wealth, privileges and success have been won by merit and hard workrather than by the benefits of systemic racism. The formation claims that the The “culture of white supremacy” is defined by several qualities, including “individualism”, “objectivity”, “paternalism”, “defense”, “hoarding of power”, the “right to comfort” and the “cult of writing”.

Cult of writing? That's a new one.

The program suggests that the solution is for whites to work on “white anti-racist development” and accept their “guilt and shame” and that “whites are not right.” Ultimately, they should be working towards “collective action” where “white people can do good
”.

Training people to accept guilt because of their skin color. I don't see how this can possibly go wrong.

Personally, I think delusional extremists who believe in vast power hoarding conspiracies belong in the shady corners of the internet where their nonsense is limited by voluntary participation.

On the upside, this seems like the sort of thing that qualifies as racial discrimination and Walmart has deep pockets.

Thoughts?
Could Walmart just focus on treating its employees well, and paying them a fair wage? That would be great. It is not Walmart's job to indoctrinate employees on political matters.

I've started a long thread on this that I'll get back to in a few days.

The slave culture that was imposed by the slave traders and slave owners still persists as the ADOS culture. We still live that slave culture. We have to separate ourselves from it--and, yes, that's our job to do.

If you're going to do it, don't try doing it by claiming to be lower than everyone else, and therefore need to be held to lower standards. Also, don't do it by claiming to be better than everyone else. Claiming to be equal was right all along. This whole "equity" business is when things started getting off track.

The document is not real, it wouldn't be this occluded if it were real. This is typical of the right wing, to make claims of documents that serve as "evidence" only to fail to produce them.
Just the right?

Wondering how far back this goes.. I mean really.. white men largely created the modern world.. with all the comfort, wealth and success it provides.
Hard to argue with that.

You don't have any standing to tell us how to fix ourselves.

When "you" (and I'm referring to the black activist community here) try to fix yourselves by destroying others, and then try to justify it by calling it "social justice" at the expense of those who don't look like you, then I have the standing to say something about it. Refer to the thread title, and try to justify that as "fixing yourselves". I don't know if you personally agree with that type of "fix", but it doesn't fix anything.

Here would be my question to that...is this a overarching general training requirement being employed at all of their stores, or is this a regional manager "doing their own thing" so to speak?

It mentions "more than 1,000" employees were given the training. Walmart has close to 2 million US employees.

It also mentions "in 2018 in partnership with the Racial Equity Institute."

Perhaps they were trying to buy some good PR after some specific incidents?

At my own company, they brought in a speaker to give a "woke lecture" about "sexism in company culture" after a particular incident happened where a superior was sexually harassing one of their subordinates, the guy was canned, but company (I suspect) brought in the speaker to help bolster their image for the subsequent court case when the employee sued.

Walmart (especially ones in the south) even as of a few years ago, were selling things like this:
upload_2021-10-16_19-35-5.png

I could totally see them having some over-correction efforts in place in order to make up for some PR issues.

I personally don't shop at Walmart, so I don't care what they do one way or the other. The stores are always over-crowded inside. And the one in my city has some "interesting" clientele. (the walmart in my city may be over-represented on the "PeopleOfWalmart" website). Standing in long lines, and listening to overweight women (who somehow felt that wearing a crop-top and booty shorts was appropriate) yell at their kids, in order to save $0.18 on a bag of chips isn't a worthwhile trade-off in my opinion...but that's just me lol.

No crime, no time.

Asians don't have some "systemic advantage".
We just don't commpit many crimes in the USA.

Do you have an example of a disadvantage built into
" the system"?

What is a "system"?

Some of the drug laws showed an indirect (though transparent) bias.

An interesting research exercise that I would encourage would be to look at the sentencing involving cocaine... specifically crack cocaine vs. powder cocaine.

It would be hard to describe the disproportionate sentencing on the "crack" form over the "powder" form as anything other than "targeted".

The answer of "well, just don't do either form" doesn't fly either. (that's the common defense most people give), as our criminal justice system is still supposed to reflect "equality under the law"

If there were a demographic group that I was targeting in particular, and I knew they preferred bud light over miller light for their beer of choice, putting a law in place that over-criminalized a DUI if the person was drinking bud light would be plainly transparent in its intentions.

As stupid as laws and policies tend to be, I'd probably start with "stupid" rather than " conspiravy"

It wasn't a conspiracy...a lot of the efforts regarding harsher sentences on the crack form of cocaine were well documented.

Much of the "war on drugs" itself was designed around the premise of being able to target groups that were critical of his administration.

His own Sr advisors admitted as much.

Nixon Adviser Admits War on Drugs Was Designed to Criminalize Black People

In a new article for Harper’s magazine, journalist Dan Baum reports that President Richard Nixon’s domestic policy chief, John Ehrlichman, admitted that the war on drugs was designed to have precisely this impact on the Black community.

In a 1994 interview, Mr. Ehrlichman said, “You want to know what this was really all about?” He went on:

“The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and Black people. You understand what I’m saying? We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or Black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and Blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.”

Walmart and communism are opposites though.
Walmart is a centralized system where there are no separate owners of each store but instead Walmart is the onwer. employees are paid low and since there is no onwer collecting profits or high paid management the money gets sent back to Walmart to make Walmart bigger and better without added benefit to the employees or the communities they are based in. Walmart in a vacuum can be looked at as a model of communism.

This is in contrast to a locally owned store where they work hard, build a brand and get the money returned to them which can be used to hire more people or pay people better and increase their livelihood and better the communities they live in.
