Hi @Bible Highlighter , I thought I would address your large post in detail so instead of making a group of large posts in response I thought it would be good to make smaller posts that are easier to read and respond to. Let's start and work through your post and examine if there is any truth in your claims here in regards to the Sabbath in new testament by bringing everything you have written to the light of Gods' Word?
More to come....
So the Sabbath is used 60x times in the new testament while the first day of the week (Sunday) is used 7x. Why do you think that is?New Testament Sabbath Study
(Is the Sabbath really as important as Sabbatarians say in the NT?) Introduction: The word “sabbath” appears 60 times in the New Testament in the King James Bible.
It seems to me that your trying to make an argument here that God's Word is more important than Gods' Word which is not biblical and against the scriptures when Jesus says in Matthew 4:4 that man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. For example Gods' 10 commandments are the Word of God the proceeded out of the mouth of God (Exodus 20:1-17) given to God's people in both the old and the new testament scriptures (New Testament scripture support here and here). Your trying to argue here that God's Word is not as important as more of God's Word which makes no sense and is not biblical. So are you really going to try and argue that God's Word is not as important as Gods' Word when it is all Gods' Word and Jesus says we are to live by every word that proceeds out the the mouth of God? Did the Sabbath commandment come our of the mouth of God? YES/NO? If yes then does not the scriptures and the very words of Jesus tell us that we are to live by it?The word “love” appears 261 times in the New Testament (KJB). The word “charity” (love) appears 28 times in the KJB. This would be a total of 289 occurrences on the word “love” if we were to combine them together. While there may be more words on love, this helps to show us that the weekly Sabbath is not as important as the two greatest commandments (Which are based on love and runs contrary to Ellen G. White, and other Sabbatarians making it appear like the greatest command is the Sabbath). The variation on the word “gospel” appears 104 times in the King James Bible. Again, this is almost at the reach of double the amount we see for the word “sabbath.” The word “grace” appears 131 times in the NT (KJV).
More to come....
