It will be interesting to see the responses.

The term is used by traditional Baptists to describe the process by which the Holy Spirit changes your outer being to match your new inner being after receiving Salvation and the Holy Spirit from Jesus. We are Justified and Redeemed by the Power of Jesus, but our flesh is weak. The Holy Spirit works to reveal sin to us and strengthen our resistance to fleshly weakness. The process is completed when we receive our glorified bodies which replace our weak fleshly ones.

Some things are transformed immediately and miraculously and some things come in time as the continued ministry of the Holy Spirit leads and reveals them to you.

Testing out the edit button. Thank you for the assistance.

What is sanctification and how can we be sanctified?
2 Thessalonians
13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.

I believe that it’s a gift=A deliverance from sin.
It has to be believed to be received.
Only The Lord (H.S.- The Spirit of holiness) is qualified to sanctify. Sanctification means ‘set apart for holy use’.
Some people believe that sanctification comes with salvation, others believe that it comes later, and/or gradually.
a Jesus believer ‘knows’ when they’ve been sanctified.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ - SAVED IMMEDIATELY / SANCTIFICATION PROMISED

This is the view that I see in scripture. The statement's perspective is from the point of view of completion.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ - SAVED IMMEDIATELY / SANCTIFICATION IMMEDIATELY.

My problem with this is it leaves out the process of conforming to the image of Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit referenced in Thessalonians.

But the bottom line is this: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ" and the rest will follow, regardless of semantics.

Since there is no edit feature (advantages and disadvantages to not having edits), I must add that this is from the perspective of a traditional Baptist who is out of place in this forum.

I have come to the understanding that sanctification is acquired by the 'patiences of the saints', very slowly as part of the growing process.

The edit feature is the bottom left hand corner, hit the 3 lines and edit will appear.
