I am afraid to get the vaccine because of the controversy surrounding it, and conspiracies.

I don't have hours of time to research this matter, and would feel bummed out to find out my fears are rational and correct after spending hours of time researching something, when I already believed in it in the first place.

How many of you believe the vaccine is safe and what research have you done?

It's not 100% 'safe', but what is?

I know that, going into all of the anti-vax threads, their initial claims are always shown to be either outright false or highly exaggerated a few posts in.

It's about which is safer, being vaccinated or not.

And for who exactly? The elderly or the youth too?

I and those in my family have been vaccinated. No ill effects from it so far.

I don't understand fear of the vaccine by people who claim to trust God to not fear other things. If we can trust God to protect us from those other things, we can trust him to ensure that the vaccine will work and not bring us harm.

Well COVID-19 has killed over 4 million people worldwide in under 2 years. People who have died as a direct result from taking the vaccines can be counted on one hand. I think the math is pretty clear.

Obviously the elderly are more vulnerable to the virus, but everyone can spread it.

I waited a long time to get vaccinated. So if there is something wrong with it maybe they can find a cure for that by experimenting on the first people to get it. I hate to be that way.

I've had both shots of the moderna vaccine and say it is safe.

I would recommend taking the shot just before to the weekend if you get the weekends off.

My wife is a nurse and we are both in our seventies. We got vaccinated as soon as we could. (Moderna -- two shots). I trust her professional judgement. Seeing people having their ventilators removed so they could say a final goodbye to their families via cell phone was unbearable to watch; I wouldn't wish that on anyone, ever.

Do you want the truth or confirmation bias?

Think for yourself. Don't blindly accept what the TV, the news, or people on here tell you.
So much for matters being decided with two or three witnesses. A man wise in his own conceit it is. #proverbsarethebest

If you wrote the number on the hand ...but certainly not by counting the fingers.
The number is in the thousands ...but it is still relatively a low percentage. UK has a higher percentage but they also have a couple different vaccines in addition to the ones used in the US. And there are some mild side effects and also some pretty nasty side effects.
How many of you believe the vaccine is safe and what research have you done?
I am not against the vaccine for those who want it....but you should do a bit of research... take the time to do it (you only have time what you make time for) Asking for peoples opinion here.... it's just opinions. Check with your doctor ...just call and ask him or her...they know your medical history ...we don't.

I am certain more people regret not getting the vaccine than getting the vaccine.

My husband and I had the Pfizer vaccine.

My three adult children had three different vaccines--Moderna, J&J, and Astrazeneca. The son who got Astrazeneca lives overseas.

No problems.

My husband and I planned to attend a big conference in New Orleans in late August. We were really looking forward to it, but the idea of going to one of the biggest COVID hotspots in the country to stay in a conference hotel with 1000 people from all over the country and overseas is a huge deterrent.

We are both in our seventies and my husband has several serious health problems, and I just don't think it's worth the risk. I did fly to NY last week to see family with no problems but this is more worrisome. We know a couple here who are both hospitalized with COVID.

I know our risk is lower, and I am so angry at my state, my state legislator, my state representative who is introducing legislation "to protect the rights of the unvaccinated and unmasked!" I am so angry at the over 70% unvaccinated in my state who continually make hostile, angry, and delusional comments all over our local media Facebook pages.

Yes, I know we will reach herd immunity after they all get infected--resulting in pain and possible long term side effects for most, hospitalization and even death for the rest. They are choosing this fate for themselves, but what angers me most is that they are willing to be human incubators for new variants which could be even more contagious and serious than Delta.

In that way they are endangering us all.

It’s not really possible to “think for yourself” on subjects that require years of study to become an expert. On medical issues, I trust my doctor and the consensus of the medical community.

I’m still undecided.
