And that exactly illustrates my point... thanks

Not agreeing with your version of what prophecy can be (false and misleading) and agreeing with what the Bible is clear concerning (prophecy must be proven true or it's not from God), illustrates my point...

We aren't denying prophecy - we are denying that these YouTube prophets have anything to do with God..

That is not what you said. You said:
Just because not everyone believes prophecy from God can be false and misleading does not, in fact, derail meaningful conversation.
Time, and time, and time again I and others have stated that God is not false and misleading. It gets tiresome and takes away from the conversation explaining that over and over. In very quick order at least 3 of us here in this forum appear to be in agreement with my assessment. So maybe it's time to move on or actually contribute in a meaningful way.

So basically since I actually believe in the Biblical definition of a prophet from God is a true definition, and we should have nothing to do with those prophecying lies in His name I should leave this conversation...

Am I getting that right?

This is insane.

I DO believe in prophecy... I just don't believe these on YouTube actually are...

But hey... that detracts from the 101 excuses for them...

No, you're basically getting nothing right.

I have been very critical of these prophecies on this very thread.

If I am understanding right, you are incorrect about your "biblical definition" of a prophet.

You are consistently negative about the prophetic, which is why several of us commented. And look what has happened... you've derailed it by making it all about yourself. But hey, by all means keep up the 101 excuses for yourself.

I'll ask you the same as I ask others. What is your personal experience with the prophetic? Have you ever even done it, or even tried? What I have found is many who are so negative about it have zero actual experience with it. They just need a few out of context scriptures and suddenly they are experts.

Also some posters on this thread imo do not believe in prophets and they're for today

as they are presentl themselves otherwise

Hello tturt. Given the mess in the last few months I could understand why someone would say there are no real prophets today. It's not something I would say, but I think we need to use wisdom and gentleness to regain trust. And the wolves will have to be removed from the sheep-fold. God Bless :)

Yup.

Isa 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

No one here said said there were no real prophets today. Sane people can see that false prophets are, false. They don't speak from God and should move to another area of service, away from the pulpit. If they're truly repentant Christians, they would choose not to teach in a church, on TV, or on Youtube.

No, I'm not constantly negative about the prophetic, I'm negative about those who prophecy lies...

Why? Because God calls them false.. and when God shows them publicly to be false, we don't allow their tales to mislead others. We have no choice but to speak the truth about them.

What is your personal experience with the prophetic? Have you ever even done it, or even tried?

My personal experience is of no consequence in light of Scripture... it's that simple. We have God's Word on this matter... I'm not going to jump up and down screaming look at me, just because someone desires I do. Although I will point to God and His Word, happily.

As to your next question, people don't "try" prophecy, they're either given the gift from God or they don't have the gift. It's not a bike with training wheels one tries their hand at ... do you ask random people if they've ever tried healing too? Or is such a try it on for size attitude limited to prophesy?

I do have to say, with the suggestion of "trying" prophecy it's little wonder there's so many false prophets out there.

Hello Direct Driver. I was filled with the Spirit and spoke in tongues at a youth meeting many years ago. And I had another experience where someone was sharing the gospel in languages they didn't know at a dinner meeting. In later years I saw what I considered to be acting the goat with tongues but the genuine experiences gave me something to hold on to.

Perhaps it was the same with your meeting, people had experienced the genuine thing, a word from the Lord and were holding on in remembrance of what had happened, hoping for it to happen again. But sadly the false prophets, flakes and attentions seekers are not often reeled in so the whole thing fizzles out.

There was a couple in AOG I remember- Joe and Eleanor. He used to shout out a big long prophecy about revival in the middle of a meeting and always ended with the line 'Is Mount Zion on the side of the North the City of the Great king?'. His wife used to run up the aisle and do a high kick shouting 'WOOOOOO!'. One time her shoe came flying off and the pastor had to duck. But I got speaking to them a couple of times after the meetings. their son was in his thirties and a recovering addict who's mind was gone, Eleanor wasn't quite right and used to go to her late mother's grave to talk to her. It was sad, they needed counselling and pastoral care but didn't get any from AG. It drove them to do the things they did for attention, which they didn't get.

I'm quite excited about what's happening in the USA though- many people are seeing through the false prophets now- really exciting times. God Bless :)
You and I are on the same page on all of this, right down to your last sentence. And your post speaks to my "neutrality" on the tongues thing. In my case, it's miracles. We've had several healing miracles and "spiritual events", but that doesn't mean I'm a fan and believer in TV "faith healers".

And yes, regarding what's happening right now. It's very exciting to watch. I feel that Satan has jumped the shark with the latest nonsense worldwide, capped off with the election won through "Scorched earth". If ever it was obvious that we do not fight flesh and blood, but powers and principalities - and on a worldwide scale - it's now. unfortunately, it's probably gonna hurt at first. Surgery usually does.

Exactly what I thought. You have no experience whatsoever and have no idea what you are talking about. Your entire post demonstrates how little you understand of the prophetic AND the scriptures involving it. Jesus said we could discern the true from the false by the fruit. You have no prophetic fruit, so why should anyone listen to you?

I find this guy very respectable. He was one of Trump prophesiers that repented, and issued an apology. In this video he is explaining how his church group is going to handle issues like this in the future.

This is good, thank you sharing it.

yes sir. I got warned about saying there's no prophets today and that wasn't what I said at all but I was like okay , I ain't going to argue.
Calling out false prophets is not saying there are no modern day prophets but that's automatic whats being assumed for some reason

Apparently discussing scripture is too difficult so you resort to trying the personal attack route.

Have a nice life...

Here's what some aren't looking at. Everything about our faith deals with prophecy..

We show that Christ is the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, we show eye witness testimony of the supernatural occurring in fulfillment of more prophecy, we also make claims of a future judgment, again in fulfillment of yet more prophecy, as well as plead with the lost to have faith and belief based on all this prophetic witness...

Prophecy is everything in our faith, and those running around making it appear to be some hit or miss guess work (when educated guesses end up with better outcomes) all while we, on the other hand, are declaring prophecy to be sure and true and it's we who end up looking like liars when we claim Christ for man's salvation...

It is a serious thing to use the name of God... a very serious thing indeed and some are treating it as a child's game.

Well, I guess they 'are' ...
as this thread gives testimony to it.

But I am not 'at war' with anyone ...
nor do I follow the lead of these kinds of prophets ...
though I would not have minded at all, if they had been correct 'this' time.

God bless you all.

My post was entirely a response to your post. Your experice and your interpretation of prophetic scriptures. I've taught entire semesters on the prophetic alone, discussing scripture is not the issue. Playing the victim doesn't change any of these things.

Have a nice life yourself.

Hello Hazelelponi. Yes, I saw a video by a 'prophet' called Kat Kerr who said she was taken up to the throne room of God and was told by God face to face that 'my Son' Donald Trump was going to be the next president.

This lady is either deceived or trying to deceive others. She says she saw God face to face in the throne room.
A dangerous woman making false prophecies taking God's name in vain.

God Bless :)

I have serious concerns about her as well. I'm curious if you have noticed anything else of concern about her other than the outcome of her prophecy?

This is from Kat Kerr's FB page ... notice it says for profit not for non-profit as most religious org's are, plus the false prophecies were accepted on Flashpoint (KCM production) does not make them look any better. She still has a following even after being wrong. Sure strange how Trump can attract so many strange people to be his followers.

PS I was one of them lol

Here's her FB statement: The Kat Kerr
I am the visionary for One Quest Intl., a for profit company that is revealing Heaven on earth through speaking engagements, social media, YouTube videos, podcast and by creating products that release Heaven on earth through the market place.

Voting for a presidential candidate based on their policy platform is simply what citizens in republic's do.. I voted for Trump, he had a great policy platform...

"Following" is something different. As Christians we follow Christ and hope to walk in the footsteps of the Apostles. Following implies emulation. ...

As far as "strange people" voting GOP, there's plenty of strange people in any large group or party... we live in a fallen world.
