You need to repent. Nobody who is sexually immoral has an inheritance in the Kingdom of God: other self-pleasures such as drinking are also sins you must avoid them. This is the hard and loving truth, despite what anyone else teaches you. If you have the Spirit inside of you, you should feel utterly convicted by doing such things and this should lead to godly sorrow then repentance. But don't expect a perfect repentance. This is often a painful process which needs much spiritual food: bible, worship, and fervent prayer.
Jesus died for your sins, and this is a precious gift, so don't abuse it.
I too had my struggles with similar lusts and it almost ruined me. Masturbation, whether without lust or with, is sexually immoral, so don't listen to people who say its not, and inappropriate contentography is doubtless Satan's main destroyer in today's world. These issues need to be spoken loudly in the church, but there's too much fluffy gospels in the church today.
I now despise such sin, but I need to remain close to God, lest I become tempted by the flesh.
Three reminders:
- Jesus is God in the flesh
- We are all sinners. God saves us we don't save ourselves. He loves us this much: that he paid the price for our sins at the cross. He wants to spend personal time with you, and be close to you.
- Jesus has no favourites. The smallest among us, and the biggest strugglers are equal to the most fervent believers. In fact, Jesus is so gracious to say "the first will be last and the last will be first". Or "blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth".
God is always waiting for us to bring our burdens to him. His arms are wide open, we just need to connect with him. This message is equally applicable to "lukewarm" christians and unbelivers:
"Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come to him and eat with him, and he with me" Rev 3:20.
God calls for all of us to be close to him, and present every single struggle to the throne. We should be praying about EVERY LITTLE ASPECT of our lives to God, and he we no doubt help us.
I suggest you put aside a few hours each day to communicate with God, and read the scriptures. Avoid ungodly things.
Try to seek the pleasures from God, flood your playlist with worship music, pray, meditate in scripture, thank God and praise him always. Have you considered this basic tip: having Jesus first in your mind would doubtless frustrate your fleshly desires... even though they probably won't eradicate them at first, there'll be a big conviction untill you get right.
Every addiction or temptation can be broken by the power of God through Jesus Christ.
