Mark Wallace, the president and CEO of Texas Children’s Hospital, offered an even more frank and encouraging perspective on the same call. “There is not a scenario, in my opinion, to where the demand for our beds, especially ICUs, ventilators, PPE, etc., would eclipse our capability,” Wallace said.

“We are seeing younger patients, we are seeing a shorter length of stay, we are seeing lower mortality, and we are seeing lower ICU utilization right now,” he said.

funny thing is it's the hospitals and doctors themselves sounding the alarm, and the issues is broader, many hospitals can't take any more people in.

...so yea, you have the view of one hospital CEO vs those who on the front lines who are actually delivering the care day after day. I hope Texas does have enough capacity, though any CEO who thinks he knows what will happen is clearly mis-speaking. No one really knows what will happen if Texas new case counts continue to climb as they have for the past 2-3 weeks.

Let's not forget the medical staff who will be required to sustain near capacity levels for several weeks - with no end in sight. To date, the last figure I heard was over 900 medical staff have been lost to covid to date - nationally.

Inundated Houston hospitals issue grim advisory to ambulances: Go elsewhere

Houston hospitals have been forced to treat hundreds of COVID-19 patients in their emergency rooms — sometimes for several hours or multiple days — as they scramble to open additional intensive care beds for the wave of seriously ill people streaming through their doors, according to internal numbers shared with NBC News and ProPublica.

At the same time, the region’s 12 busiest hospitals are increasingly telling emergency responders that they cannot safely accept new patients, at a rate nearly three times that of a year ago, according to data reviewed by reporters.

The increase in ambulance diversions, coupled with the spike in patients being held indefinitely in emergency rooms, are the latest indicators that Houston hospitals are straining to keep up with a surge of new coronavirus patients. ProPublica and NBC News have previously reported that a public hospital in Houston ran out of a medication to treat COVID-19 patients and that a spike in at-home deaths from cardiac arrest suggests that the death toll from the coronavirus may be higher than official statistics show.

It seems in America, nothing was learned from New York.

:sigh:

Yeah...and again all media made up lies for the left, and they will continue this false charade right up to the election. And no surprise...it's the only thing the left can accomplish is to bring false accusations against their duly elected President, because he's tearing down their corrupt system....not just in the US, but includes all their crimminal activity in their world wide web of corruption. So sad and too bad for them...they are all going to be exposed

Doctors from Texas completely disagree...hospitals are busy, but NOT because of the democratic party plandemic/scamdemic...Just ask Dr Ronny Jackson who is very busy visiting hospitals all over Texas. He's not seeing any of the media blitz hype.

The left can continue to push fake news and fake studies about the Wuhan flu and/or continue to participate in the riots the far left socialist communist movement are using to destroy the us. That's their choice. They can pay thousands of dollars to take Dr Fauci's in hospital fast tracked treatment of 2 needles a day for ten days instead of HCQ+ at max $20.00 per treatment you can take at home...a drug that's been safely used for 70 years.

President Trump will be elected again...by a landslide just because of the insane madness orchestrated by the left that the world is watching happen in the US.

We're praying daily for the President of the US, in prayer groups united all across our country and it's connected to prayer groups in the US as well...We all know That God is in control, truth always wins and what's left of the brainwashed public may never see or accept the truth...that's expected, while everyone else are seeing the true nature of the democratic party. They won't be fooled again.

More than 10,000 virus patients remain in Texas hospitals

Texas continued to report more than 10,000 patients hospitalized with the coronavirus Monday as the state tries containing the spread in what has become one of America's biggest hot zones.

As Republican Gov. Greg Abbott warns that the worst is yet to come in Texas, state health officials reported more than 40 new deaths and 5,600 new cases following what had been the deadliest week of the pandemic in the state. There is typically a decline in numbers following a weekend, when reporting from counties is slower.

The true number of cases is likely far higher because many people have not been tested, and studies suggest people can be infected and not feel sick.

Gov. Greg Abbott warns if spread of COVID-19 doesn’t slow, “the next step would have to be a lockdown”

With Texas continuing to break records for new coronavirus deaths and hospitalizations this week, Gov. Greg Abbott reiterated Friday afternoon that things will continue to get worse. And if people keep flouting his new statewide mask mandate, he said, the next step could be another economic lockdown.

“Things will get worse, and let me explain why,” he told KLBK TV in Lubbock. “The deaths that we’re seeing announced today and yesterday — which are now over 100 — those are people who likely contracted COVID-19 in late May.

“The worst is yet to come as we work our way through that massive increase in people testing positive.”

Governor Abbott Announces Additional Department Of Defense Resources To Mitigate COVID-19 | Office of the Texas Governor | Greg Abbott

July 13, 2020 | Austin, Texas | Press Release

Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the U.S. Department of Defense has activated additional U.S. Army Urban Augmentation Medical Task Forces (UAMTF) to assist the state's efforts to combat COVID-19. At the Governor's request and as part of a whole-of-nation approach, one UAMTF arrived in San Antonio on July 6th, an additional task force arrived in Texas to support the Houston region today, and four UAMTFs, along with a U.S. Navy Acute Care Team and four U.S. Navy Rapid Rural Response teams, will be deployed to additional locations across Texas as identified by ongoing assessments. These teams consist of medical and support professionals which are being deployed to support medical needs in hospitals throughout the state.

Yep, all is hunky-dory......

it's the doctors and CEO's calling that things are out of hand, best you have is something 9 days ago that wasn't true then, but keep spreading your lies.
