Well, you have to realize that salvation did not go out unto the Gentiles yet. They first preached the gospel to Israel first.

As for Romans 13:4 that says,

...for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

This is talking about how unbelieving authorities or nations (like a government's leaders, armies, and police) who are God's ministers to execute wrath or judgment on those who do evil. This is not talking about believers because it is telling the reader to be subject unto this higher powers (Romans 13:1). It does not tell the reader that they are these higher powers. The reader that Paul is writing to are believers (not the higher powers who are in authority whereby we are to be subject unto). In fact, God used both Assyria and Babylon to punish His people. So we can see that these nations were God's ministers of justice (Which would be in line with what is said in Romans 13).

Would you agree that everything you posted here, outside of quoting Scripture directly, is nothing more than your fallible opinion, and is subject to error?

The Jews were UNDER ROMAN OCCUPATION. At times, brutal Roman occupation.

The Romans were a brutal culture. If a Roman soldier did not like the way a Jew was looking at him? Or, simply did not something about a Jew? He could slap him down.

Now, the Jews viewed the Romans as "goyim" and unclean. A religious Jew could get proud and defiant when slapped down and resist the Roman in a way that could bring on worse bodily harm.

When Jesus said to offer the other cheek? He was teaching them how to minimize further bodily harm - how to survive the brutal occupation they were under.

Proud Jews could easily end up with a sword thrust through if they became arrogant in the face of a Roman soldier's arrogance. Jesus was telling them to turn the other cheek to keep their bodily harm minimal.

After all...

Israel was under Roman occupation because the Jews under the Pharisees had become apostate, and God was using Rome to discipline the Jews. Many Jews felt oppressed.

Its also why Jesus told the Jews to go the extra mile. For a Roman could grab some Jews standing around and demand them to pick up some supplies and take them to a given location. Just look how the Roman soldiers commanded a bystander (Simon of Cyrene) to carry Jesus' Cross for him..(Matthew 27:32 Luke 23:26).

The Romans treated those people they occupied with unblinking arrogance when they wanted something done. Turn the other cheek was wisdom on how to survive while under occupation by a brutal nation.

nowehre in the Bible is sef dense forbidden per se. Jesus sometimes advised his disciples to buy swords, other times He told them to put them away. depending on the situation.

if God wants us to defend our loved ones or those who are helpless, am sure He ok with us defending ourselves when the situation truly requires it. we are to love our neighbours AS we love ourselves. not to love our neighbours and not love ourselves. treat everyone with the same comapssion you give yourself. God has no favourites neither should we.

I'm definitely pro 2nd amendment, the issue with taking guns away or increasing the number of gun free zones is that anyone who would be prepared to commit gun violence doesn't care whether they do it in a gun free zone, or if they legally obtained the gun. They're already prepared to commit one crime that will get them life in prison, what will a few more matter to them? And if a law abiding citizen who'd otherwise carry a weapon happens to be there, they're powerless to stop the gunman. Reducing gun control won't increase gun violence, it'll decrease it.

They didn't have guns, they would have had a knife or some kind of stick or a rock. No one is saying not to guard your property, its how it's being guarded, the mentality behind it and the ease of which innocents can be killed.

You are pushing a race riot narrative? Now I know exactly what most of these gun people fear. When the renegade blacks and Mexicans come for us we need our guns. BTW I leave not more than a few blocks from where the incident occurred that set people off. There were more white people lighting fires than anybody. Police pulled over a car van with white guys and cases of Molotov cocktails in the back. I saw with my own two eyes, no news story and I know what I saw. Whites have been clamoring for this nationwide race war. All the Aryan Nation videos especially it's like their rapture they all believe in.

I was held up at gunpoint a few years back. Tell me that if we had stronger laws the ones who held me up would have no gun. Well? It worked for illegal drugs. Laws banned them, now we are drug free.

The false peace you are enjoying can be made very short lived by one evil criminal. Like I said. I was held up at gunpoint. The police were not right there when it happened. If it went a little bit different I would not be posting this....

After all... the Bible under all circumstances says that no harm will come to us.

We know they were. We have videos from Atlanta showing whites lighting fires. One was a white lady who dates a black man... so she is no white supremacist. Blacks are not the ones fomenting these riots. They are props being used to cover for an agenda. Black Lives Matter is really being run by trained Marxists.
