You operate in submission in every area of your life? You obey without question or hesitance?

~Bella
Absolutely, to the glory of God.
It is how "new creatures" act.

Exemplary servants are self-correcting. The best anticipate the other’s needs before they ask. They learn their habits and they’re meticulous. The majority are deferential (towards the one they serve) without hesitance or complaint. They view their position from a place of honor and trust.

Their submission isn’t a gift. Its a privilege to serve him. ;)
~Bella
I think it is a "gift".

My submission to God is not a gift. Its a duty I willingly offer. My submission to my future spouse is not a gift. Its an act of service I lovingly bestow.

Explain to me why you would post a thread like this in this section? I don't see why it would qualify as controversial.

I suspect it may be a preface to "why don't you obey the law?"

There is a point in the ever increasing relationship in which He causes us to sit and He serves us .
He already did serve us, brother, with His very life, now we must serve Him.

This goes without saying ... but the increase of his rest we serve him out of does so in ways unlooked for, and for most who call themselves Christian in this life un-experienced.

I think that's a deep statement, brother; perhaps a bit too deep for my question: I'm simply concerned with the growing hedonism, and dead-faith movements that are now the norm in most Churches: These philosophies contradict what the Lord commanded, and contradict His doctrine, yet they are the most popular teachings amongst Christians.

And this in turn, if looked at from the outside, would show us, through complete trust and faith in Him, in the backseat allowing Him to drive us home. And oh what an amazing drive it is! " No longer do I call you servants, for servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you."

The path of least resistance is often the path most trodden; which is the same truth of being taught of God.

Brother, beware against quoting the Lord out of context.

The following is the Lord's definition of friends:

"Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you." --John 15:14

A friend to the Lord, is a servant who knows His personal business, and does whatsoever He commands.

Brother, the wide path has the least resistance, and it is always the most trodden:

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." --Matthew 7:13-14

The narrow way is the path of the most resistance, and it is always the least trodden.

The Lord exemplified this, and warned His friends, that the world would hate them, but not to worry, because it hated Him first.

We are to follow Christ, against the resistance of the world, which is the greatest resistance, for it is the whole world.

If I misunderstood you, please correct me, and please explain.

Thanks.

You are correct and this also applies to how we are taught of God.

My submission to God is a gift from Him, an answer to my prayers.
I found out I could have a "good conscience before God". (1 Peter 3:21)
I no longer must serve sin.
That to me is a gift from God.

Submission is a choice: the gift from God is His Spirit, Who empowers us to maintain that choice.

His Spirit forms in us a new heart, that no longer desires the things of the world, but the things of God.
