My best friend lost a half of a million dollars already.

My retirement checks coming in and my wife's retirement checks that will be starting soon are in jeopardy.

Future pricing of grocery stores, restaurants etc are going up because of the CV.

Many businesses are shut down forever.

Many investments -- shot out.

I think you got the idea.

I'm foreseeing a 15 - 25% longterm loss here.

Since you have been bragging for months how well your investments do and how your wife votes with her wallet and that’s why Trump is da man what is your rationale now ?

Also, this must be a pretty humbling experience for you.

Let’s hope you get some spiritual positives out of it.

You are a bit mistaken. It is government policy not CV that will do this. Don't blame the virus blame hubris.

States and Cities are already seeing a lack of tax monies coming in.

My City retirement check depends a lot on the amount of tax monies coming in from conventions, tourist, hotels, restaurants etc. -- there has been none.

Why do you think liquor stores were considered essential? The tax revenue from liquor stores is very lucrative at all times but with no bars open and people being isolated and depressed by the thought of their economic future being dismal that part of each state's tax revenue must be booming.

My point was that the hubris of those in government thinking that they have the wisdom and power to defeat a virus by the one person rule through executive order is the cause of the economic catastrophe we are in, not the virus. Abandoning the centuries old form of government that had served the US well and allowing 50 plus dictators to enforce their personal preferences upon the rest of us and have them make all the decisions is where this occurred .The virus is only guilty of being a very contagious disease and for providing the excuse those 50 plus were probably already looing for to increase their personal power.

Money will be the least of what I will loose.
Time, opportunity, future plans, and a possible relocation have all been put on hold for me till at least the end of this year.

I have also lost two months of mass attendance (with more loss to come!).

Easter Celebrations, family gatherings, doctor's appointments, and landscaping plans have all been put on hold until next Spring, as has the purchase of a new car.

Around here, "Survivor!" is more than just a tv game show. It's real life now.

I don't see the loss as long-term. I expect the stock market to return to last year's levels within three or four years. It is true that the economy will not have the growth it would have had for the next couple of years, so maybe there will be a net long-term loss of ten or fifteen percent due to the virus.

I do see a real possibility that political divisiveness will have a huge economic cost over the next few years. When both sides are calling the others crooks and liars, that can't be good. Please don't blame the virus for that.

This is currently a situation that's very much 'in progress' - we don't actually know what the FINAL outcome will be yet, not categorically. God has a plan that He won't deviate from, we'll have to wait.

Personally, I think it's a time now for everyone to take it upon themselves as individuals to rebuild this society. Take the government out of it and draw the power from within - then come together as a watertight unit. Not socialism, not capitalism, but somewhere in the middle. (You do need both I think).

The old system didn't work - and we know that now more than ever, because these are the results of it. Millions of lives ruined, citizens under house arrest, and mental health being a bigger burden than the virus itself! Now it's time for a bit of gumption from all of us - and maybe social distancing has given us a glimmer of insight into HOW (I know it has me.)

My opinions aside, it goes back to the first point. God knows what He's doing. Don't worry about how much material you lose, because you've still got what counts. Whenever you start to worry, just think of utopia we're all to receive. Think of what you'll do on that first day when you pass through the pearly gates.

(But not too hard - I don't want you getting there early.)

No financial losses. Shelter-in-place was beneficial for streamlining and acquiring goods and services at low rates. Our network experienced tremendous growth and we’re collaborating on new products and opportunities. We’re a tight knit group of Christian business owners.

I am fortunate to have actually turned a healthy profit off of it. I've kept my job through the whole thing and made some changes in my retirement fund that paid off.

I'm 48, probably lost about 15-20% of 401k/IRA value - pulled it out into 'holding zones' mostly, still kind of hesitant about putting back into market, not sure what July is going to bring.

Strange things have been happening, Oil at a negative price, etc. I suspect we will see a resurgence in July, enough to impact market again. Not certain how well the 'hull' of the economy and supply chain is holding through this.

What are 'assets' though? Friends and family? Thankful I've lost no one close to me. Fiance' and I have gotten to know each other better; learned to love the dog lol.

Still employed, telecommuting. She runs a couple of small businesses with her self currently as sole employee, and still about to work remotely with clients.

Do you ave a job? How about a bank account?

I have a job and a bank account.

I am an EMT. My job isn't going anywhere. My bank account is there to allow me to have my checks deposited. If I lose the bank, it's no big deal as I will find another or just get a paper check.

I honestly have no assets.

No, I'm still getting paid. In fact i just got a promotion. But my point is, economically this has had no effect on me.

Being paid doesn't have an effect on you? If you should lose your job you would not be worse off than you are having it?
