The Father .. He told you.. ask me for wisdom.. I will give it to you. :)

Read ISA 41 10. And KNOW not wonder.. know it was written for you. He will always give you a peace. Praying for you. And remember have faith.. God has never given you fear.. its not of Him. The enemy can only lie. This is how I look at it. So If I get some FEAR.. of which He never gave me. then I FLIP what the devil said.

But.. I MUST have faith in that moment. I can not doubt. I just pray at that moment.. forgive me Father for doubting. I believe.. help my doubting :) And keep going. HE IS FOR YOU! With you.. no matter what is going on.. KNOW HE is with you.. and .. how strange.. so much fear yet.. I have none! Praise GOD glory to Jesus.. so ask Him for wisdom. Then THANK HIM!

He said.. if you ask He will give it. No matter what you feel hear see. He said ASK He will give it. Thank Him and by faith receive it. Thank you Father for giving Isilwen wisdom. Help lsilwen delight in you.. thank you for giving lsilwen the desires of the heart.. IN Jesus name

With the coronavirus ramping up here in the states, and me being an EMT, I have a decision to make.

I have an underlying condition, asthma and now they are saying digestive issues can play a part, I also have irritable bowel syndrome. My girlfriend has sjogren's syndrome with is an autoimmune disease and my kids have asthma as well. So, there is a lot of potential for bad things to happen. Hence, the decision to make.

There is no work from home solution for me. It's out on a truck or nothing with my job. So, if I take a leave of absence, there will be no pay coming. I was already struggling, this would make it impossible. There is hope in the government stepping in and giving us a one time or two time payment, that could help, but not really sure.

My girlfriend may end up working from home, but she works for the state and they would pay her anyway.

We have discussed moving in together for the time being, while all this is happening and if I decide to take a leave of absence. I would have a place to live, food in my stomach and a place for my kids to come to when I have them. The situation is not ideal as a Christian, but these are less than ideal times so to speak.

Do I take the leave of absence, which could also lose me my job (I can get another one with another company pretty easily) or do I risk getting covid-19 and possibly end up with pneumonia in the hospital because of my asthma?
Many in your field are faced with the same dilemma. Follow your conscience. And if you are walking with the Holy Spirit, fear has no power over you.
Blessings to you and your girlfriend.

If only that were true in my case at this moment in time.

There is alot going on in my life right now that has me scared, not just coronavirus. I am overwhelmed and when I get overwhelmed I get scared.

I also realize many in my field are faced with the same dilemma. I don't have a high tolerance for risk. It's actually very low. This is high risk for me either way I go.

They are now talking about a possible shelter in place order coming soon in our state. Once that happens, that is when I may take a LOA. To me that signals it's bad enough that I shouldn't be risking myself, my kids, my girlfriend or even others that are immune-compromised.

I have received the Holy Spirit already. Doesn't mean I will always feel peace. That is my belief and the belief of the churches that I have attended.

Thank you though. Once I finally make a decision I will feel better.

Lsilwen, everyone is concerned about the virus. Many health care workers have preexisting conditions. Make a decision you can live with. Either wear protective equipment and work and stay away from your family or take a leave and move in with the friend. Those are your choices.Pray about this. May God be with you!

If I am going to be taking a leave of absence I will be self quarantining in the home. I will not be going anywhere unless I need food or something to drink.

Talk to your doctor, if he recommends you take a leave of absence then have him write you a note.

If you quit your job you won't be eligible for unemployment, but if your work fires you you'll get it. The government is passing legislation that will help displaced workers, which is what you would be with a doctor's note - out of work due to the virus.

In the end, you have to do what's right for your family. If you have employment (your still employed when your on a LOA) and need to, you could get a credit card or a small bank loan which would help you financially too.

I just wanted to let you know I'm praying for you whichever choice you make. It is scary. My daughter is 6 months pregnant and has asthma. She was planning on cutting back on hours, she just manages a pizza restaurant. It's the take&bake type, so they are allowed to stay open and they have been swamped every day. Her partner is a RN, so he is exposed too. My middle son is tech support for cell phones, so he has to work. But, my youngest son is a musician and does security at a concert venue in Seattle, he got shut down and had to move back home.
None of this is easy. We can't predict what might happen. My youngest is so worried he brought it with him and I might catch it from him. We already have cases here. He could get it because he came here.
Pray about it. Whatever you feel the most at peace with, do that. You are the one who has to live with the outcome, whatever it is.

There isn’t a bible verse that says you And your kids can’t live in the same house as your gf. Ask the elders of your church what they think about temporary living arrangements with your gf. I feel like in your situation the risks to health and financial security are extreme this is not a normal “move in with gf” situation. And for the love of God take a leave of absence there is no amount of money worth a life like that

Is there no sibling or cousin who would give you a temporary home? Don't move in with your GF. That's putting yourself at risk of displeasing God. Some churches have charitable organiztions; try investigating that option. :praying:
