Apparently there are some on the Left that can put their agendas away and recognize true Leadership as well as give credit.

Trump and his administration have faced criticism for their response to the coronavirus. But Newsom, who declared a state of emergency in California last Wednesday, shared positive remarks about the way the president had responded and supported the West Coast state as it allowed the Grand Princess, which had 21 infected passengers aboard, to dock in Oakland.
"We had a private conversation, but he said, 'We're gonna do the right thing' and 'You have my support, all of our support, logistically and otherwise,'" Newsom told reporters at a Monday news conference.
"He said everything I could have hoped for," the governor asserted. "And we had a very long conversation and every single thing he said, they followed through on," he noted.
"Every single thing... has been consistent with expectation we'd repatriate these passengers and do it in a way that does justice to the spirit that defines the best of our country," the governor said.

If he promises positive action and then follows through on it then he deserves praise. The problem previously has been him making promises and then not following through on it, like the agreement that would have given him a big chunk of wall funding which he later reneged on.

I listened to one of the governor's press conferences last week and there were a couple bait questions clearly designed to open an attack line on Trump. He didn't fall for the bait....and instead, focused on efforts to combat the virus, which is what all leaders should be doing.

Trump deserves massive criticism for a lot of pandemic relevant policies and statements. But a "lets work together" media moment is not the time/place for that, and the CA gov knows it.

Well, it should be noted that Coronavirus is unlike most of the previous crises Donald's administration has had to face... It's not of his own making or exacerbation, there's nobody to throw money at to make it go away, it doesn't respond to bravado, bluster, intimidation...
This is really a time that the administration really has to work with others and actually do the right thing, instead of just say the right thing.. if they can pull it off competently, bravo for them!

That's not the reason at all! It has no bearing on what Trump has done.
I posted this to show that maybe our government can begin to come together.
Both sides have their problems, hopefully we can begin to heal.
I think this is a very good start on the behalf of a far left Democrat.
I'm giving him praise not Trump.

As am I -- a lot of Donald's detractors have been accused of criticizing Donald even when he does something right.
That's an understandable sentiment, considering such moments are few and far between, but this might be one of them.
Kudos to Newsom for taking the opportunity to give credit where he considers it due.
