I am going to school for small animal massage and yesterday in class, we were taught energy healings. We actually learned a little of the technique called Reiki -- i don't think i'm spelling it correctly though. We were giving a "Grounding Technique" so that we can perform this technique on animals and we were taught how to do this technique on both people and animals.

I honestly didn't (don't) but into all of this yet. And, yesterday, we actually performed this technique on each other (people first) and, my partner, while she was doing this technique on my head, she said she felt a tingling in her hands and when she did it over my legs (my trouble area), she said she felt a lot of heat in her hands and a lot of tingling in her hands as well. I felt absolutely nothing while she was doing it to me.

When I was "performing" this Reiki on her, what i felt, to me, felt like it was the Holy Spirit's deep peace coursing through my body as before doing this technique, i asked the holy spirit to work through me and, i believe he did but, she didn't feel anything. I don't know. I don't get it.

What do you all believe about this? Is doing this a bad thing? Is it against God/the bible??? I was told Reiki isn't painful/isn't bad, that it's just "energy healings" -- My instructor said this "energy" is coming from ourselves, but, it's also coming from the ground and the sky. What the heck does that mean???

I wasn't fully into this energy healing techniques -- i'm prob the only one in class that didn't fully experience anything. When I told my instructor that I had felt that deep peace coursing through my body, she just gave me this funny look saying, that isn't normal lol -- yeah, not normal bc i believe it was the holy spirit and not whatever type of energy thing.

I don't know. I don't know if this technique is something i just shouldn't do, or, should i try it??? We were told that we are to practice this Reiki on both our family members and our dogs as well.

I am just wondering if the Bible or God says anything about performing these types of things?

Please stay away from energy healing. Reiki energy comes from demons. I know this from personal experience as I have had Reiki sessions performed on me before I was saved. It will open a doorway for demonic oppression as it is affiliated with the occult. People will try and candy coat it saying it is the Holy Spirit/God, etc. but it was created by a man that practiced Shintoism and Taoism named Makao Usui. This energy came from him casting spells/incantations. Kundalini/ascension is also affiliated with this dark energy and the end result can be demonic posession. It would be wise to repent and ask God to close all doors opened from affiliation with reiki. I read a testimony of a woman who practiced this under the guise that it was Christian and she asked God to take away her reiki energy if it was not of the Lord and she said her healing abilities left her at that time and have not returned since she prayed and renounced this.

I think it's bollocks, whether it has a Christian or a new age aesthetic slapped on it. It's quackery.

If you want to be a healer: go to med school, work hard, then you can play doctor.

Or do it by the Spirit of the living God.

But leave all the new age nonsense out of it.

Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret - Ephesians 5:11-12 (NASB)

thanks for your explanation -- i didn't kno anything about it and didn't realize it was wrong -- i just know when i tried doing it on Sat, that i felt uncomfortable w/ it all and i just didn't truly believe in energy healings. I was praying a good way through all of that so, maybe thats why i felt peace instead of being oppressed?!?

But, it's also interesting what you said in your private message to me about seeing a dot and a white circle around it or whatever color it was bc when my 2 instructors were talking about it, they said many times when they performed Reiki on people, that they could usually see a blue or a red dot in the middle of a white circle and they usually felt tingling and what not.

I didn't kno what to make it of as I had never heard of Reiki before. Thankfully, my class isn't going to be going much more into Reiki. They just wanted to introduce us to it and show us there's other forms of "healings".

Do you know anything about the T-Touch technique? We were also going to cover that the next time we meet up for class just to show us what that is all about. I did a little research on it -- it doesn't seem bad to me, but, i just want to make sure bc Reiki didn't seem bad to me either.

The class i'm taking is basically covering hands on massage -- reg massage techniques as well as deep tissue massage -- they just wanted to introduce us to 2 energy healing techniques.

What if one was to perform Reiki or something like it but instead of calling up demons or whatever, you just asked the holy spirit to heal thru your hands/body instead? Is doing that or performing something like that still wrong? BC as i mentioned above when i was doin this Reiki to another student, i asked the holy spirit to work through me and i felt a Deep sense of peace flowing through my entire body -- what was that then??

Whenever you start going by feelings, especially when you are doing things that you now KNOW are not in line with the things of God, you are asking for problems.

It is simple - take what you have learned here, repent of what you are doing now, and DON'T DO REIKI. If you want to continue to try and reason this out, Satan will be more than happy to accommodate your curiosity. When I read your posts, I cannot help but discern that there is something that is the driving force behind all of this. What is it that you are wanting from all of this? The ability to heal? The recognition of being a healer? The gift? What is it? What comes to mind is the incident with Simon in Acts 8:9-23.

There is something that is driving you to desire this and I don't believe that it is coming from God. Please get before him and allow him to show you what it is so you can repent of it and move on.

I would also stay away from grounding and t-touch. I don’t have enough posts to be able to post links, but if you go to wiki and type in therapeutic touch it will give you information. For example, it says t- touch “has roots in ancient healing practices” and mentions “biofields” a lot too. Grounding, or “earthing” is a practice where a person is consciously trying to gain/manipulate energy from the earth. Again, it is my belief that energy manipulation is sourcery which is forbidden in the Bible.
Just because something has the ability to impart peacefulness or spiritual ecstasy it does not mean that it is the Holy Spirit. People that meditate or that practice other religious disciplines all believe that they are communing with God because they feel good physically/mentally,etc. This is a false peace that they will learn deceived them on judgment day if they do not get saved and renounce these things.
I think that when people have God given spiritual gifts (not from demons) God assigns people those gifts and they don’t necessarily choose them. So to try and choose a specific gift may not be in God’s will, He may want you to have a different gift. Pray to God that His will be done in your life and you will be on the right path. If you truly have a desire to help people you can teach them about salvation through Jesus, volunteer, donate resources, etc. and those are all safe and you wouldn’t have to worry about involvement with dark energies period. I think it would also be a good idea to pray for wisdom and spiritual discernment.

As long as you trust in Jesus Christ for your healing abilities
you will be alright with putting our hands on people and praying for healing.

As others have stated, stay away from healing "energies"
and focus on Jesus Christ as the healer and your source of healing power.

Make sure that when you see positive results in your endevours
that you give glory to Jesus Christ as your source of healing power
and in this way you will lead people to the source of healing, salvation
and eternal life, Jesus Christ.

Make sure that when you lay hands on people for healing that you tell
them that you do so in Jesus name so that your power will be of Him and
not of any other source.

Jesus is the healer as He healed all those that came to Him.

Laying your hands on those who need a touch of healing is taught
by Christ and His disciples and brings glory and focus to Jesus Christ as
long as we do it in Jesus Christ's name.

You must make the choice to give glory to Jesus Christ and
in so doing lead many to Him or else follow the way of deception
and give people false hope that leads to deception and away from Christ.

Whom ever you serve will be your master so choose well.

You would be wise to listen to this message above, Reiki is witchcraft pure and simple, I am a testimony of that, God saved me from this.
You need to renounce it and ask for forgiveness from Jesus and not partake in any part of it.

I too was caught up in the Reiki healing, I practiced for many years and even attuned people to the various levels. a few months back while arranging a Reiki workshop, all sorts of strange things happened prior to the training. People had broken ankles, accidents etc, so I knew this was not right, many other similar but not as great as these had happened. I also was doing readings and all sorts of negative issues occured, so I knew I was not listening to my Lord, he was trying to get my attention for a long time. I repented and was delivered from the occult, I burned all my Reiki books, cards, emblems, photos etc. I now channel the holy spirit, have not done any hands on healings as yet, but will and use the Holy Spirit instead of the occult. I feel lighter but lost, my journey is only beginning, I have lots to learn and go through but I remain in faith.

There is a laying on of hands in the Bible of course. But does Reiki teach that healing comes from the Holy Spirit? Does it insist that all healing comes from the Father and we should give glory to Him. I don't think so! There are many demonic imitations for the gifts of the Spirit.

Further, we know there is such a thing as "impartation" in the Bible. Personally, no way would I let people put hands on me for any other than Biblical reasons. I would want to know them very well and be sure they are for real, too. I believe Reiki probably is giving "impartations" that are no way from the Lord. It's just another of humans' ways to act like the Lord and take authority where they have none and can be ultimately doing a lot of harm.

I heard one woman's story on the Precious Testimonies channel on You Tube. She was being beset by demons. She went to a Reiki specialist and she did get peace. For awhile. Then the attacks became much worse.

Beware. I would also pray for healing from whatevever may have been imparted to you, and the animals, through Reiki.
