Why bother to try to prove anything ?
Those who do not hear God's Voice do not follow Him. Not even when others do.

My point entirely. People who 'hear' God's Voice are likely to do all sorts of wacky things. I work hard to not follow them down their wacky path.

-YOU- were the one who wanted me to accept the Bible as God's Word and now you won't or can't put God's fingerprints on it.

Mixing apples and oranges ?

People who hear something that is not God's Voice, are deceived, and live deceived lives. (like the rest of the world).

People who hear God's Voice, and do as He Says, joyfully obedient, are judged blessed or cursed, just as He Says.

The difference between reality and false lives is shown clearly all through God's Word Accurately.

Question: What exactly does this whataboutism and derailment have to do with the content in the OP?

And just WHO gets to decide which people 'hear something that is not God's Voice' and those 'who hear God's Voice'??? Do we all get to vote on it??

And there you go with the 'God's Word' thing again. If you are going to insist on using it, prove it really is God's Word.

You know, I'm a gen Xer in my 40s and I seem to be moving more to the left as I age. While my life looks quite conservative, the older I get- the more concerned I become with all the people our society leaves behind. When I was young - I was Libertarian. Now I'm more of a Democratic Socialist. I don't fit neatly in that box, but real people rarely do.

Yeah, I know what you mean about fitting neatly in boxes. I used to be more of a middle of the road Democrat. I never really worried about whether a Democrat or a Republican was president because there really wasn't too much about either which rankled me.

As I saw it, we might kind of weave back and forth some, we still stayed the course of moving into the future with a sense of sanity.

In the past few decades our weaving back and forth has gotten more and more frantic with each succeeding Republican until I wonder if we are even still on the road anymore, let alone moving into the future with a sense of sanity.

I miss the old days when both parties had Statesmen who could see a future for the country which wasn't all that different than the future the other party saw.

With that said, I also have to admit I was far more sheltered within my White Privilege then than I am now. I simply wasn't aware of what minorities in this country were living with all that time. Empathy for them likely contributed to me becoming less comfortable with the Republican mind-set.

I don't fit the standard boxes either. I am a pre Baby Boomer (76 in a couple of weeks). I just keep getting more and more liberal both politically and in my Christianity. In my entire life I have never not voted and never will "not vote".

It does look like that so far the trend of older people moving more to the right doesn't apply here anyway.

I'll chime in too. I'm a Baby Boomer, and I keep moving farther left politically and socially as I get older. I'm one of those college professors who carefully uses gender-neutral pronouns that the Atlantic article talks about. And this:

I confess to this as well. Every time I think I've understood my privilege, I find another layer that I didn't understand. :( So it's a lifetime journey.

One of the early episodes in my awakening to how much I've benefited from being a white male was when I read the book "A Peoples History of the United States" by Howard Zinn.

A People's History of the United States

The United States was created from the ground up as tool to benefit White people...specifically White men...and oppress all others. Once that realization sunk in, it was easier to see how the systemic racism worked at all levels of the society and government.

I've been speaking against the real history of the United States since I joined this site. Grant it, I've gone through some changes since I first joined, but my focus on NDN issues has been consistent. I think it's refreshing to see someone else confront the real truth about this country too. I thought I would post another link to one of my older posts to demonstrate how serious I am about this issue.
